    • @3d-illusions
      @3d-illusions  Před rokem

      you could export the monkey as an alembic file, then import the alembic. In the alembic object's modifiers there's a meshsequencecache modifier which is responisble for playing the animation. Under it's time dropdown you can tick 'override frame', and then animate it's value to play it fast, slow, forward or backwards, or any combination.
      To play backwards, set the timeline to 0, then change the override frame to the last frame the particles were visible on, then hover over the override textbox with your mouse, and press i to set a keyframe. Move the timeline to wherever you want, set the override frame to the first frame of you particle animation (probably 0), and then set another keyframe. Play it back and you'll get the reverse explosion.

    Hey... I was planning on an intro clip. So I created a text, converted and remeshed it. After the settings you showed( until the force field cuz we need only that much) I rendered it. The problem is the particles moved but the mesh had explode effects but it doesn't exploded properly and after animation, the mesh was still there.

    • @3d-illusions
      @3d-illusions  Před 2 měsíci

      Metaballs wont work, but you could try putting a geometry node network after the explode, then use mesh to volume and volume to mesh. Transferring a colour attribute from the mesh to the new post volume mesh perhaps. Haven't tried it, so you'll just need to have a play 👍

    • @3d-illusions
      @3d-illusions  Před 10 měsíci +1

      I'd probably set the particle system to emit from the volume and increase the normal or decrease gravity. Alternativey you could use two particle systems/explode modifiers, and then use vertex groups to limit which faces are affected by each.

    • @3d-illusions
      @3d-illusions  Před 8 měsíci

      I believe it uses the existing topology providing you don't have cut edges enabled in the explode modifier. So you'd probably need to modify the topology of the model.

    • @3d-illusions
      @3d-illusions  Před 3 lety +1

      That's a great question. I haven't tried with the explode modifier, but if you look at the bottom of the particles settings there's a textures section. Add a new texture, then go to the texture tab and you'll notice that this texture has a influence section. You can use these settings to control particle density etc based on the image or movie you have loaded in.

    How to do this in a video

    • @3d-illusions
      @3d-illusions  Před 2 lety

      For existing video footage you’d probably want to project the background onto a plane using camera mapping so there’s something behind the bit you disintegrate, then create a cut out plane of the object to disintegrate on the couple of frames needed, and do it the same for that object as in this video. I think default cube did a video on using camera tracking to paint missing parts of the background from the frames where it’s not obscured. Will only work if the background doesn’t have moving elements.
