- One ticket-holder in the UK has won £170m in the country's biggest ever lottery win in Tuesday night's Euromillions draw.
A winner has yet to come forward and players are being urged to check their tickets.
Neil Trotter won £107.9m on the Euromillions lottery in 2014.
Just checked my lotto ticket and didnt win. Came here to imagine what it would be like .. anyway , work tomorrow.

Meh because people are stupid. They say youth is wasted on the young, the same is true for money being wasted on the wealthy. There are people I know who say they'd continue to work if they win the lottery/came into big wealth and I used to think people wouldn't be that crazy if they were in the situation until I came across people who actually did it. My colleague ( no kids or dependents) got around 4 million quid after tax at 40 from an inheritance and still works full time teaching on top of doing after school and weekend tuition. Why she still does it is beyond me as most of my other mates in the industry hate it/ are burnt out and like myself dream of leaving . Hours are long and its stressful, if I was handed that kind of money I'd be gone like a shot and never enter a classroom again or any stressful [and often toxic] work environment .
My dads best friend [an only child] inherited the family property business and still continues to lecture in a university and does a lot of Saturday tuition. The business he inherited is property rentals across London and was valued at over 35 million quid last year and he is the sole owner and like my colleague is middle aged with no kids or spouse or dependents. The guy has battled depression and alcoholism for years yet still drags himself into a six day work week on top of running the business which is all stressful as hell and is bloody madness when he has that cash and those assets. He doesn't even get on with the people he works with at the university and said many times he hates every second of it so it's not like he's happy in it but says he is ''not a quitter and it would be against his family expectations''. He could quit the job and sell up tomorrow and be given tens of millions and live a nice stress free life yet chooses to live in the rat race doing crazy hours that so many dream of walking away from.
There's nought as queer as folk but I think some people just have no other life or purpose outside their jobs which is very sad when you think of it. My current headmaster is a single 66 year old man with no kids and no family yet is in very morning from 6am-7pm 5 days a week when he could retire to a whooper pension and lump sum and his over half a million quid London town house he has [he bought it in 70s when they were cheap] yet outside work he probably has got nothing else so it's the only reason I can think of as to why people do it...
I, in the meantime along with my friends work six days a week, am constantly overwhelmed and drained and hate that we have to do tuition at weekends to survive. Again why people would choose to work like that with so much cash to me is just complete bonkers and screams of stupidity. And no I have no kids and am single and still would be gone in a flash if I could!! One friend compared it to getting chemo when you don't have cancer. There are soooooo many other things I'd do with my days if I had the means to not work. Nobody in their death bed ever wished they'd spent more time in the office as my mum used to say.
Maybe he has done that In the five years since his win, Now he is bored.

Not just the immediate family (parents, brothers, sisters, etc), the more people who know, the more they spread the gossip and, before you know it, you're being clamoured at from all sides. There may even be beggars camping at your door, or paparazzi praying on you, just waiting to get a scoop. It can really spiral out of control, so staying anonymous is very wise.

depends on what you class as 'old'. Bloke looks about 45ish-hardly 'old' and most lotto winners never go public so who knows what ages they are?
I'd also guess your 'old' people [over 20s] are more likely to win is that people would be more likely to do it consistently when they marry or get on a bit and when they realise the value and cost of everything as they hit 30s and have kids/mortgages etc. and the cold realities of life begin to sink in. That is that careers are all too often hard work/not fun and the cost of everything is expensive and how a wad of cash could do so much good.
In other words, I think many people see the need to be rich when they start earning and work long hours to realise they still don't have much cash or can afford the luxuries [like a house these days] and want an escape. I couldn't have cared less over money as a student in my 20s when I was going partying etc but as I hit 30 and was still renting, working long hours with nothing to show for it, I suddenly cared and wanted cash and my priorities greatly changed in that I wanted the house, the big bank balance, the buy to let property, the security and not have to work every second God sent...
Plus being married would mean they go out clubbing less etc. and being spontaneous and have routines like getting the lotto ticket with the weekly shop.
@@BLX187 A good few under 40 have gone public if you check, I am 35 and couldn't think of anything worse than going public. If anything I'm getting quieter with age, in my 20s I always posed on FB etc. These days any type of publicity or attention on me is my idea of hell.
