Thank you for sharing your perspective on this subject. I am currently 27 & haven't done anything education-wise beyond studying Games Development as a school-leaver, and most recently, re-sitting my English & Maths to get those updated (which was achieved this year just gone). It's tough at the moment being someone who still lives at home & has someone who relies on me to be working to get by day-to-day. It's tough at my current job where most people are in their mid-40s and over who I can't really relate with as well as people closer to my age, so my social life is almost non-existent, so it makes me think that education is the way to go, but coming out of work would be a big challenge with current circumstances. Despite this, I will always keep education as an option in my mind, and hopefully the stars will align for me to find a good time to start again! Edit: I also feel the main benefactor of getting into education again is to build a social network, in which we can mutually benefit each other & help each other on our journey's to getting into a dream job, so that would be the main drive for me to go back.
I am currently finishing my first year first semester. I am 22 years of age. Some of my mates are graduating. I just felt behind, but I'm realizing that I am not alone and that our journeys are all different. Thanks for sharing.
I'm 20, almost 21. First semester of freshman year. There is a student who is 17 and doing dual enrollment in highschool! I look at this as awesome, so many people can be on so many different paths and still meet somewhere together. In basic training, I was the same rank as someone who was 30 when I was 18. Instead of looking down on them/ feeling bad about myself, I see that we're both in the same place doing our own things and I think that's awesome
Going through a similar experience right now. I gotta say i’m so glad I waited, i’m actually eager to learn now, as opposed to before when I felt like I had to do it, and I don’t respond well to that feeling of being forced to do things.
One year later, I appreciated this video! I just finished my first semester and I'm 24. I'm also about to make a similar video to this. I appreciate you and the value this video brought. I'm happy you uploaded it.

Knowing there are people in the world starting their college journey around my age is amazing. Cheers to everyone!!!
Why do Americans have this mindset? Does being a little older make people unable to learn a new profession? It seems that if you fail in your adolescence your entire life is doomed and you will be placed in a caste. My country is imperfect, but at least in terms of education here, people aged 30 and over are highly encouraged (by the population itself) to start a new degree, it is not uncommon to see people changing professions. I'm 26 years old, my dream is to graduate in the US, but I know that will never happen because by the standards of the American people I'm too old to take an undergraduate degree. This is sad, one of the most amazing things in life is learning, and in the "land of opportunity" that pleasure is only given to an elite.

The only con of going to college be it University or community college which is what I did, is not being able to relate to the 18 years olds. Which is not really a con in my eyes. It's easier to make friends in you mid 20's, especially if you don't quit your job and somehow balance both. Keeps you busy throughout the week for sure. Plus! I believe going back to school in your mid 20's is best because you actually care about your grades since you're most likely paying for it yourself.
I went thru high school not wanting to go to college so I didn’t really apply myself for a lot of it. Idk what my gpa is but Ik it probably isn’t good. I’m 20 now working full time as a cook and I’ve realized over the past year I want to go to a 4 year college and I’m scared of what it’s gonna take to get into college but I’m gonna get it done. @@jadaross7313but erm 4 years younger is not “way younger”…😓
It is actually, I mean anything more than 2 years is way younger@@shawnleong3605
Thanks for sharing.I’m a college senior i am 27.I can relate to your experience socially it’s hard to find mature finds. Thanks for sharing!
One year later, I appreciated this video! I just finished my first semester and I'm 24. I'm also about to make a similar video to this. I appreciate you and the value this video brought. I'm happy you uploaded it.
I'm 21 years old right now, engineering drop out student and now I'm studying in FYBMM in Ruia college, thank you for giving me relief ❤️✨

Starting medicine at 22, will graduate at 28, and will finish residency at 31-ish. We've got this!!!
i'm starting college at 21 and want to do neurosurgery, my degree will take me 5-6yrs and my residency will take 7 (not including medschool) theoretically i should finish at 33-35, realistically it'll probably be early 40's 😭😭, good luck
Went to the navy with the entire plan of going back to college, 22 now and about to go back yet I’ve never been more nervous/scared of anything in my life I feel like I will be so behind and losing time. But I am ready, thank you for the vudoe
you were born 1992 but you do look like you were born 1999😂
also, when u get ur masters, you’re most likely gonna be told that you need a phd (or atleast that’s what i get told). Especially where we live, meritocrasy isn’t a thing when it comes to job distribution even if they say it is, for the most part it is luck and prejudice so don’t feel bad x
Lol I get that all the time 😭
@@WeEducateAndTutor that’s so unfair 😭
I started college at 18 after HS and hell no wasn’t for me. But now I’m 22 and iv reapplied got accepted and now I’m actually ready for college. A very hard choice to make but one I’m excited to start this august.
The way you talk is amazing! It just feels like a friend of mine is talking to me.
Thank you so much💗✨
I feel you when you talked about not liking when you would have to go to someone younger for help. I did everything kind of non traditional. I went to the marines at 21 and I got out at 25 and now im continuing my education at university full time. but you really realize that age is just a number and just because someone is older or younger isn't an qualification to their maturity. even in the marines, when I was 23 the best leader I ever had was 21 years old
23 changing my Major subject and starting over as a fresher in college glad that i am not alone here
I’m on the verge of tears I’m so greatful to you to have posted this I needed to know I’m not alone
I’ll be graduating with my bachelors when I’m 29. It’s really never too late to get educated and create something great! Comparison is the thief of joy. We all do it but compare yourself to the person that matters most in this journey: yourself!
This is my current situation, but everyone has a different path to travel. Experience teaches us wisdom. Great video!
what an inspiring vlog 😍😍, am 26 and I just started my journey to medicine for the next 6 years, I hope you found your dream job by now Noor
Good luck 👍 💓
Hey good luck on your journey! How has it been so far?

I miss my good times in college!!!

Hey you’re not alone. I’m 24 and gonna be going to college to study Human Resources. It took me about a year to figure out where I wanna start

22 and planning on getting my GED then going to college.
Dang, this comment section makes me feel happy. I am 23, a rising junior majoring in civil engineering. There have been many times when I've been called old, which made me feel unaccepted. Knowing there are people in the world starting their college journey around my age is amazing. Cheers to everyone!!!
I can understand this gap feeling, it was just two years gap but it was hard , proud of you and congrats your graduation ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This is sad, one of the most amazing things in life is learning, and in the "land of opportunity" that pleasure is only given to an elite.
back to university at 36 ...yaaaaayyyy .....
22 and going to start universisty again in CS degree after dropping out from Mechatronics and Control Engineering because of my family was in financial crisis so I had to work full time. Now, I plan to go back to the same universisty but get a CS degree, since, I am working as a junior software developer. Congratulations on your journey.

@@No-qwewe Not too bad, hehe. I am about to start the 7th semester next month. I actually did a department transfer so I was allowed in the 5th semester directly, since completed courses from my previous admission got transferred.
Going back to college next year after a loooong pause of 5 years! Super scared, but also, excited. It'll be my senior year.
Noor😍 I’m going back to community college at 22, hoping it goes well but same time feels like I have no choice but to make it go well😅😁
I have a BA in Game Art & 3D Animation and have a full time job in the field but want to go back to college to study Aerospace Engineering. I'm 21, almost 22 right now but will likely be 24 by the time I start studying again (saving up money & learning prior to studying). This was a great video and some nice reassurance!
25 year old transfer here. I’m still learning about other people and yes everyone is years younger get than me. I can’t wait to meet people my age!!!!😢
I'm late to this party, but I needed this exact thing in this exact moment.
23 thinking about enrolling this summer for fall. I’m not scared of school or the work that comes with it, I’m scared of the debt and bills

im 20 almost 21 and about to start my gen eds after dropping out at 18 and taking 2 gap years. Im really nervous
Thanks for this video. I'm from Brazil and here it's quite common to graduate at any age, literally you can find students from 16 to 60 years old, but I want to graduate in another country and the fact that I'm 21 while other students will be 18 or 19 make me insecure
That's one If the few good things in our country's education system🇧🇷🇧🇷. We can more easely graduate at any age. I'm 24 and going back to college. But I wish to go an American institution.
I started 3 months ago :) loving it so far. Thank you for all the insightful input!
Life is so hard omg! I felt sad idk why but at least you graduated and now you can sleep in ur home as much as you want
Thank you, the fact that you delivered it made me like your video.
I initially skipped college hoping that I would just land a job with a good company where I could move up fast, but it never happened. Now I'm 24 and starting college in the fall for engineering.
We are the dumb & broke generation 🤣

23 going on 24 going to a University here soon. Wish me luck
Thank you for making this video like this for real helped
I feel like I just met the female version of me lol.
Great vid, I'm currently struggling with being a mature student in my mid-20s.
Just to give some perspective, here in Singapore, males typically graduate at 25-26. Females at 23-24. Hearing all of you complaining about graduating late but still in your early 20s made me feel all kinds of bad. I suffered from major health issues, hence I am only graduating at around 28…
24 here, starting school after years of experimentation lol. I feel as though I have a unique perspective on school at this age.
so helpfull❤thanks,im not feel lonely
i want started college at 22th wish me luckk😊

I graduated hs in 2016 and worked min wage barista jobs for 5 years while taking like one class a quarter at a CC. Was so tired of it so i decided to consistently sign up for classes and transferred to a uni in 2022. I was 24 at the time and living on campus I felt like a teenager loooool. The friends I made were like 20-22 so it wasnt that bad but in class is where I felt weird like i was around 18 year olds and the TAs were my age hahahaha. I went to a couple of parties that my friends invited me to and I felt so weird being there as well lol. Im 25 now in my last year I am hoping to find at least ONE friend who is my age!!! other than feeling awkward sometimes i dont regret it and i am thankful to be where im at now!
23 to 24 is still your early 20s mid 20s is 25 to 27 so it’s OK
I wanted this so bad, I'm 24 and now I can't go because of finances:(
Find a way. Financial aid, scholarship, sponsorships, working full time and going to school part time, etc
i’m the ripe age of 23 and seeing that most people in comments are 24+ is crazy to me because i was starting to really feel behind and old which i know i’m not and i’m not saying anyone 23+ is old (i think that age really is just a number and it’s all about your spirit) but it’s because of gen z society and how much faster i feel like teens and young adults (15-20) are evolving especially with social media and tiktok especially!!! 3 years in my twenties to me feel like a decade now i think also because of the covid gap 2020 brought us??? or is this is my peak quarter like crisis??? LOL
Yeo same I'm 23 and feel so different from the 18 year olds
I hope I can find ppl that are accepting and vibe with me ykno
@@murk959 yess! and u will! there are people who are younger than us that i actually find to be mentally at the same level as i am in a way (talking about responsibilities, or emotions and mental health, interests or morals in that aspect). and for those who are younger and still seem like a younger or a more gen z kinda vibe than you, are also super cool! and i have a couple friends like that and i see em as like little siblings you know? cus my little brother is 19 so i relate that in the sense of being friends with the youth lol :) kind of like a big sister kind of vibe like listening to their drama or just sharing the knowledge i have as a 23 yr old and guiding them when i can! just know that it really is all about your confidence and people DO vibe with you :) own it and take care!

I’m 21. I’ll probably be done at 24. My worries come from being looked at as the old head. And im not one to easily lie about my age either lol
Graduating at 28 is going to be quite an experience, but ... why not
I'm startin at 24 years old, hard to manage the responsability, while having other needs, while I'm more interested in learning and sharing than having good grades, sometimes I see those facts act like opposites. Is deffenitely a responsability that many times goes beyond just doing homework, assisting to class, or studing for a grade.

I'm starting this september after I've just turned 24. I am pretty confident I'll be doing okay academically I'm just so worried that I'm going to struggle socially.
I’m 22 and planning to go to college but have been working and gaining some work experience but after high school working but then all of a sudden as I was reaching my goals for college COVID-19 hit and caused the delay plan but now as of COVID-19 passing a little bit trying to figure out the goals like take tours then work on other steps so it’s never too late to go to college but I understand how you’re feeling it’s like you’re mind felt it’s too late should’ve done that after high school I have that same feeling too especially during the COVID-19 and lockdown too
The only con of going to college be it University or community college which is what I did, is not being able to relate to the 18 years olds.
Im gonna start at 21 would you say its a significant gap?
I went thru high school not wanting to go to college so I didn’t really apply myself for a lot of it. Idk what my gpa is but Ik it probably isn’t good. I’m 20 now working full time as a cook and I’ve realized over the past year I want to go to a 4 year college and I’m scared of what it’s gonna take to get into college but I’m gonna get it done. I really have no idea what I’m doing, I’m just starting the research process for which college I want to go to and what major I want to pick. I’m really interested in anthropology/sociology or anything related to those kind of things but I know a lot of people say don’t major in those things. If anyone can give me any type of advice please do, it would be very appreciated
This is what I needed to hear! Thank you!
22 soon to be 23 years old, currently taking a gap year...but I'm prepared to finish my qualification.
Gonna be honest, most of college was mid, but I learned a lot throughout out my entire college experience. Still have pay off that debt, though. Cheers!🍷
Congratulations for your graduation, maybe I can relate I went through alot of changes since high school and being away from my family, also I was moving between universities and I had to restart my degree in another college, I was older than most of students 2 or 3 years but it was a teachful journey and planing my master degree know.
Thanks for sharing your experience - best of luck with your masters! I hope you find what you love through your journy.
