      If you're already on C4D then def give it a try, you can do a lot with it considering it's not really a sculpting specific software like Z-Brush.

    Would love to see a video of your Zbrush to Cinema 4D process (especially retopology). Your teaching style is so snappy. Hope to see more from you!

      I have only used Z-Brush a while ago, I love it but I'm just not a sculptor so I can't justify buying Z-brush when most of what I need I can sculpt in C4D.
      But, I love z-brush, and I wish to go back to it at some point. Once I do, expect tutorials! haha

    And we also have ZRemesher inside C4D now to make this workflow even better.

    This is awesome. Would be a game changer for me if c4d had zbrushes knife curve tool

    • @NewPlastic
      @NewPlastic  Před 2 lety

      Yes c4d is far from zbrush in that sense. But Maxon just bought Forger which is a sculpting program for the iPad. I'll have to check it out but it has to be lightyears ahead of c4d's native sculpting tools

      @@chillbro2275 Haha wow funny to read my comment, I was eyeing Forger, not realizing Zbrush was the giant waiting for me around corner (now that I'm learning Zbrush on my new videos)
      But yeah, I'll reply to your other comment too

    Looks like they may have either ditched volume mesh or it's moved somewhere and I can't find it

    • @NewPlastic
      @NewPlastic  Před 10 měsíci

      They haven't ditched it, it's there. You can always press Shift + C and look up whatever it is you're looking for and it'll find the command for it immediately

    Hey man can you help me install octane render I just bought the subscription but I am having troubles installing on my cinema 4d r23

    • @NewPlastic
      @NewPlastic  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey! All you need to do is go to C4D, go to Preferences, at the bottom you have a button to go to you preferences folder, and it'll open your preferences folder. Then go to Plug-in folder and paste in the Octane folder you downloaded. Then inside the Octane folder, you'll see a bunch of files with names of different C4D versions, delete all the ones that are not s24.
      Then restart C4D and you should be good!

  • @do1609
    @do1609 Před 3 lety +1

    what can we use instead of remesher? im not sure of the technique to take it from the volume mesher mesh, to a straighter mesh, and applying nodes eventually mess with it.

    • @NewPlastic
      @NewPlastic  Před 3 lety +1

      If you want to turn the Volume object into a mesh just right click on it and choose Set current state to object or Connect objects.
      If you don't have Remesher you can just use the Polygon reduction object

    • @do1609
      @do1609 Před 3 lety

      ah okay, thats what i was thinking since i had been using that and was just wondering if the mesh would eventually mess with stuff from your procedural rocks tutorial was all. thank you :)

    I just visited zbrush webpage for the first time in a while, and see that they were acquired by maxon. is the Sculpting C4D essentially the same as ZBrush?

    • @NewPlastic
      @NewPlastic  Před rokem

      Not at all. Maxon wants you to use Zbrush now, so they'll never make the C4D sculpting tools better.

    • @chillbro2275
      @chillbro2275 Před rokem

      @@NewPlastic Thanks. I never knew C4D had sculpting. ZBrush has enabled some very realistic human (and other biological subject) models. Since C4D seems to have a slant (or maybe its just enormous success) in motion graphics, is its sculptor more geared toward producing models for motion graphics than say for human models?

    • @NewPlastic
      @NewPlastic  Před rokem +1

      @@chillbro2275 C4D's sculpting tools are very basic and really meant for subtle sculpting, I use it to make simple stuff like rocks or stuff like that. I also use them to fix up models I'm texturing, if it's a simple fix and I don't want to go all the way back to Zbrush and re-export everything.
      I guess you can make a lot of stuff with the cinema scultping tools but you definitely won't have the level of finesse and efficiency Zbrush has especially for stuff like micro-details.
