    I've been learning Hungarian for almost 2 months now and I genuinely think I'm getting the hang of it! As a native Bulgarian speaker, I notice that there are a some grammatical rules that are the same in both languages, but they are VERY diffirent from one-another as a whole. The magyarul experience is unique in it's own way. I'm learning Hungarian, because my future flight school is located there and because a lot of Bulgarian authors from the times of the peack of the Ottoman Empire have mentioned Hungary and the Hungarian language in their books. That last fact alone got me quite intrigued in the language, and so I finally found the perfect time to start learning it.

      I am learning both languages Hungarian and Danish, and also Icelandic / Norse / Dutch / Norwegian / Gothic / Faroese etc and all other Germanic languages and the modern Celtic languages etc, because they are so pretty and very easy to learn, even Hungarian which is an agglutinative language, so, even though Hungarian is very different with very different grammar, it is actually one of the easiest languages, which can be learnt quite fast, kinda like Germanic languages, especially if one focuses mostly on vocab, and if one figures out how its grammar works, it will be quite easy to use it, as the only difference is, that in agglutinative languages, the prepositions are added at the end of the noun and are written as one word and they are referred to as postpositions, and even though I don’t know any agglutinative languages fluently, I kinda figured out how agglutinative languages work, so I don’t feel like they are that different now!
      Hungarian is a mid category 2 language spelling-wise and it has an easy category 1 pronunciation, almost as easy as Icelandic / English / Dutch / Norse / Gothic pronunciation, and, Danish has a very easy and light category 1 spelling and a category 2 pronunciation like German / Brazilian Portuguese / Faroese / Swedish / French, so Danish pronunciation takes more practice to get the exact accent, as it has an accent that is a bit ‘harder’ to imitate, like German and Faroese, but the words themselves are very easy to learn!
      Danish and Hungarian words are also super easy to memorize, as most of them are very pretty, and one naturally remembers the prettier and more distinctive words faster, and even though I am beginner level in both Danish and Hungarian at the moment, I can understand most Danish words I see because I am advanced level in Norwegian and upper intermediate level in Icelandic / Norse / German and upper advanced level in Dutch!
      Hungarian is very different from the other languages I am learning, and it is closely related to Turkish, as they come from the same Proto language, which is why they have the same word endings like ek / rök / k / mek / nek / tek / ök and many cognates, but Hungarian is actually a pretty language with mostly pretty words, as it was influenced a lot by Germanic / Norse languages, and it is very unique overall, so most of the Hungarian words aren’t obvious cognates with words from any other language, and its numbers are also very unique!
      I highly recommend learning Hungarian and Danish 2gether with Icelandic / Norse / Dutch / Norwegian / Gothic / Faroese etc, which are also super gorgeous - these languages are the prettiest languages ever created, as pretty / refined / poetic as English, so they are way too pretty not to know, and they are all super fun to learn / speak / hear / see etc!

    • @thetrueoneandonlyladyprinc8038
      @thetrueoneandonlyladyprinc8038 Před 4 měsíci +1

      By the way, Hungarian has a relaxed pronunciation, so the muscles involved in speaking and the lips are kept relaxed when saying words in Hungarian and the words are pronounced normally, but Danish has a non-relaxed pronunciation like English / Dutch / German / Welsh / Faroese / Brazilian Portuguese / French, so the muscles involved in speaking and the lips are tensed up (it’s kinda subconscious, one isn’t even aware of it) and a different sound placement is used, which is what gives these languages that different / modern sound, and this is something that one does automatically, it’s all controlled by the hern, and it’s really hard to explain how this works, but if one keeps trying to imitate the exact sounds one hears and tensing up the lips and muscles involved in speaking to different levels and if one tries different sound placements, one will get the right Danish accent eventually, and, with languages that use a non-relaxed pronunciation, I feel like it would be way easier to get the right accent if one knew all the words and the pronunciation of each word automatically, so, first learning all the words automatically, like, really automatically, and listening to the language a lot, while reading the subs, and then when getting to an upper intermediate or advanced level, trying to pronounce the words, and normally, pronunciation should improve naturally, once one knows a lot of the words automatically, so it takes a lot of revising and repeating, and also typing a lot in the language, to develop a muscle memory and reflexive memory, in addition to learning the words with their pronunciation automatically, and also listening to the language being spoken a lot, like, hearing each word hundreds of times, over a longer period of time, and then the pronunciation should come naturally, especially if one remembers to consciously tense up the lips and the muscles involved in speaking, and to not pronounce the words like in the first language that one was made to learn and trying different sound placements, until one gets the right sound and until new speaking habits are formed, and then it should all be like second nature!
      I highly recommend focusing mostly on vocab, and learning hundreds and thousands of new words every regularly, while also regularly revising previously learnt words, many times, over a longer period of time, until every word can be instantly processed and automatically remembered, and memorizing as many lyrics as possible (for example, learning all the Skáld songs which are in many Norse / Germanic / Nordic languages and Nox songs such as Nem Lesz Több Danc) is also a great way to learn many new words and phrases in a fun way, and also, always watching every single video and movie with subs in the target languages, which are the best and most effective ways of languages many pretty and easy languages!
      I use all these language learning techniques such as spaced repetition and memorizing lyrics and watching everything with subs etc, having over 50 target languages, and learning new words in about 15 of my target languages regularly and in some of the other target languages occasionally, and usually prioritizing about five languages the most, and I see a lot of progress fast, so, even though watching and rewatching vocab videos many times isn’t the most fun part about learning languages, it is definitely the most efficient and necessary!

    I think learning the alphabet is one of the most important things. You should understand the special letters which are used in Hungarian, like sz, zs, gy, ty, dzs. It will help you to pronounce the words more easily in which these letters are used. Besides that, you will understand that these are single letters and not two separate ones.

    Magyar nyelvnek köszönhetően pár jó barátot megismertem, de én is megtanultam "magyarul" főzni, mert most olvashatok magyar nyelvű recepteket a büszke szakácsként! Ha érdekel az első utazásomról Magyarországra többet megtudni, menjetek be a csatornámba, ahol az én magyar nyelvű vlogom (és a kihívásom egyben) várja. Elnézést a szpemért, de úgy gondoltam, hogy a tanulásom eredményeit megosztása fontos lenne a bizonyétékomként...

    Jealousy, hatred and getting reported at the police will be the first real signs you have been integrated into Hungarian society. They are only nice to you because they think/know you are not like that, plus they judge you by appearance.
    Otherwise your Hungarian is great, you seem to be a nice guy and I am glad you see the positive sides of living in Hungary.
