- Benny Cristo will sing “omaga” at Eurovision 2021 for the Czech Republic. A few days after the release of his music video, he joined us for an English-language interview about his mission to deliver positive vibes. He tells us about how he developed the song and lyrics, his collab with producer Filip Vlček, how he approached this differently from his 2020 entry “Kemama” and why he’s been swiping on Tindr (he’s not looking for a hookup). Proud of his Angolan roots, he also recounts how he responded to racism by pushing himself to excel across music, snowboarding and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and how he’s advocating for animal rights as a committed vegan.

back in 2013-2014 I was working for a travel company selling tickets (Student Agency on Florenc, czechs will know) and he came to my window with his gf or girl-friend at that time and he ordered a ticket for her.. I felt little bit weird because he was a star and I was "just" a ticket seller back then. We were about the same age (23-24yrs old) so I kind of expected a behavior of a "young celebrity" but nothing could be further from the truth.. he was absolutely kind and giving me smiles and nods during the whole interaction and it literally made my day.. I really believe and hope that he is a kind person
I never understood why people underrated Benny so much. Kemama isn’t bad at all, and Omaga is even better. His personality is a dream to have❤️ also William is an amazing person❤️

Love this guy, so genuine and so good at heart 🥰😍 love the song as well though it took couple listening cause there are many layers to it. My two kids loved it instantly though, the younger one makes some crazy moves on it.

I appreciate Benny may have his own working style. In contrasting Victoria’s approach of taking months to develop half a dozen options verses Benny’s 11 months off and quickly spontaneously creating something in a few weeks; the contrast in outcomes is stark.
