Heroe's Feast is a great use of Wish. If you are picky with your uses of Wish, you can always cast Heroe's Feast with it at the end of the day for a nice healthy free buff to your party.

I will always throw my hat in the ring with Distintegrate. Is it the best option for dealing damage? No. That part is mostly just a fun gamble unless you can paralyze the target. Where Disintegrate shines is in permanently affecting the world around you. A tower in the way? Turn a structural corner to dust and watch it fall. An army crossing a bridge? No more bridge. Need to get through a wall/ceiling/mountain? Cut a 10-foot hole. Wall of Force? Forcecage? Destroyed. A bad guy monologuing on the edge of a cliff over a lake of lava? No legendary resistance to dust the ground beneath him. Do you want to start carving tunnels to craft an underground lair? Disintegrate. Its a spell that requires creativity and improvisation to use well, but it's surprising how many problems are solved by turning something to dust.

Minor thing about Mental Prison, you said you cannot use it on a target thats immune to being charmed. Technically not correct, they will just automatically save. So they will still take 5d10 damage.
Not the greatest option, but its not like it fizzles out and does nothing

Flat 40 force damage part is nice, but the fact that it can tore down Wall of Force and Forecage is the most important, especially if you have evil DM who like to trap you in Force Cage + Ray of Sickness combo.

Another point about mental prison is that it still qualifies as a control spell even with its massive damage output. A creature caught by the spell can only perceive the area within the spell's effect and nothing beyond, and since the spell takes effect in "the area immediately around the target's space" this means they cannot make AoO or reactions since they can't see or hear anything beyond the effect (they also can't cast any spell that requires them to see their target or target area). Additionally any attacks are made at advantage against them since according to the spell the target is restrained on top of everything else. Finally if they are moved from the affected area by any means the target takes a boat load of extra damage, making this a ridiculously powerful spell if you combo it with any one of the multitude of forced movement abilities in the game.
Of course this all assumes the target fails their save and isn't immune to being charmed. But since there's plenty of other strong single target damaging spells I'm going to assume the player isn't going to knowingly waste a coveted sixth level spell slot on a spell this powerful just to do the base damage.

What are your opinions on the spells True sight and Tasha's otherworldly guise?
One is a non concentration cheap buff that allows your party to completely ignore several puzzles and be immune to illusions, and the other is a massive concentration buff that acts as a pseudo haste+fly spells while adding four immunitys (two damages depending on what type you choose + two conditions.)

I think create homunculus is an under estimated spell. If your dm does not let you drink poisons as a bonus action you can use the homunculus to cast make it feed it to one of your friends. Another way it is useful is I you have a spare wand of some kind or other magic items that can do damage. It can also help as a lookout when your party is sleeping. It’s limitations goes as far as your creativity in my opinion. It does also offer many role-play potentials.

Upcasting absolutely _does_ get around Globe of Invulnerability. The level of a spell is the level of the slot used to cast it as described on page 201 in the PHB under 'Casting a Spell at a Higher Level': "When a spellcaster casts a spell using a slot that is of a higher levei than the spell, the spell assumes the higher levei for that casting. For instance, if Umara casts magic missile using one of her 2nd-levei slots, that magic missile is 2nd leveI. Effectively, the spell expands to fill the slot it is put into."
Same thing goes for the limited magic immunity of the Rakshasa or any other similar effect.

While I mostly agree with your list I don’t take much stock in mental spells as WotC and most dms seem to kinda just blanketed all boss monsters with immunity to most mental effects. I do enjoy the concept of mental prison though. Still though I think the utility of Disintegrate maybe is not considered here? Objects automatically fail dex saves meaning if you need to destroy something fast such as a really well guarded rooms door, a wall of force, or some particular item as fast as possible in combat those things are all dealt with with a free shot of around 75 damage. A couple sessions ago the group I’m in was up against a boss who was powered up by a massive crystal in a tower. Things were looking bleak for us so I casted my Disintegrate on it and dealt 90% the damage needed to destroy it. Pretty much saved my entire group due to using disintegrate for what its honestly best suited for. Destroying objects and doing it fast.

Not to be pedantic but my pre-algebra lessons taught me that area of a circle is pi times radius squared. A circle with a radius of 20 ft would have an area of 1256 sq.ft while a circle with a radius of 60 ft would be 11,304 sq.ft. So otiluke's freezing sphere is nine times the size of a fireball and not three times the size.

Irresistible Dance is not a good spell. There are LOTS of monsters that are immune to charm. And advantage just isn't that hard to come by. Same with Legendary Resistance, it's just not that hard to work around anymore. I'd take Scatter or even Soul Cage over this every time.
Mental Prison is a good spell but has one major problem. If your DM doesn't play nice all you get is damage. If that's all you get it's definitely not the top spell. Blasting just isn't good in 5e. Without the added control it's just average.
Mass suggestion is the best spell at this level. Think about it, Suggestion is pretty good at level 2. This is literally 12 times as effective at level 6 without needing concentration. This is the only 6th level spell that can end a significant combat encounter in a single action.

imo chain lightning doesn't deserve to be on this list. here's some honorable mentions which i think could've made the list:
    1. soul cage-free advantage/healing for minimal action economy cost
    2. summon fiend-summons are always useful
    3. bones of the earth-non-concentration control spells are always a premium
    4. create homunculus/planar ally-an additional body on the field without using your concentration is always useful. action economy is king in 5e
    5. scatter- this is vortex warp (a good spell) on steroids. being able to reposition everyone on the field as you see fit can be a lifesaver/combat ender

I feel like the videos on this channel arnt as entertaining as the ones on your yugioh channel. When you talk about cards, you get to teach us about their effects and how to counteract them, and because yugioh is a competitive game, that information feels relevant. Its not the same with D&D, it doesnt really matter what spells are strong or weak because you arnt trying to win. Otto’s Dance really seems like a raw vs rai argument. Literally no other spell has the effect just start without a save, and the creature can make a save the next turn, meaning the spell can be resisted by the creature, so I’m 99% that was just poor wording on the spells part.
Like why could a creature resist being forced to laugh but not dance, especially when both spells were made by the same guy in verse.

@@ainevek But the spell goes on to say you can resist it within its description. Ignoring how the names of multiple spells and abilities can be extremely misleading or completely wrong (sneak attack isn’t an actual sneak attack for example). I mean if that’s truly what the game designers meant for the spell, that’s what it does, but I just find it weird. No other spell, even ones in much higher spell levels, get to just auto do their things (except time stop but it stops if you try anything but running away), so a 6th level spell being able to do it comes off as unintentional. Especially when it doesn’t specifically say it gets to auto work, it just doesn’t mention the starting save.
