EQ Pedals are the secret key to awesome tone.
I think I like my ge7 as an overdrive more than my sd1 🤷♂️
A video suggestion: use the GE-7 with a DS-1 to get as close as possible to the HM-2 !

That clean picking riff sounded so sweet and melancholy… you should add it to the Pedal Vault intro soundtrack.

6:36, the only setting you will ever need... (to get kicked out of any band).
I use one of these in the effects loop of my 6505. Its pretty cool.

The boss is buffered, which would be great for pedals in the loop section( I think so)..I’m certain the mxr is true bypassed....both are great but the mxr can also run on 18v for more volume and eye burning leds and its stereo....also....eq pedals can get noisy after some years....there is a guy griffin mods that can make them noiseless even more so than the original.....

Do you think it's possible to use this pedal to approximate a Mesa/Boogie 5-band EQ? The frequencies aren't exactly the same, but are pretty close. However, perhaps the GE-7 bands are too narrow?
I don't think so... you MIGHT come somewhere close, but I think it's unlikely

I use it for all kinds of things but mainly a boost with some actual balls to it.
If the amp doesn't have effect loop, should I place it before or after the distortion pedal?
in front for a more subtle use, after distortion for more tone shaping options.

probably yes. general guideline: If you're happy with your amp's sound => in front. If you're unhappy => in fx-loop

Meistens Bass und Mids 11 und Treble 14 - 15 Uhr

I'm thinking of getting this for my Mesa Dual Rectifier. It sounds too harsh so I need to tame it a little bit.
It works awesome. I cut the bass and it makes it tight.
