The EQ blocks on my HX stomp is probably the thing where I learned the most about "tone" since I bought it. So many possibilities to shape your sound.

Worth us all remembering to boost volume slightly too, when cutting frequencies as that usually leads to a slight volume drop

Thanks! Its a readily available service on the analog man site. Just mail yours in. Also, XTS in Nashville does it too. Some sell them already modded

Wipes the floor with that pedal .

What I’m always unsure on is how a lot of pedals have tone knobs anyway, including the amp. So many places to shape tone in the line. I guess my process would be shape bare amp tone no pedals, and work then from guitar to amp tweaking tone along the way.
Exactly. EQ your amp to taste, then one pedal at a time in chain order.

Depends on application. Works great in both senses
I like it b4 and where he has it at 6:26..I keep it on and at that setting always...but it is to taste
Scooping before the pre amp doesnt shape the amp eq and distortion.

Seriously Don buy the boss. There are several pedals that have volume and GAIN on an Eq pedal.
My favourite is the Caline for 40$ the Boss is 300$
