    Guys, if you want to see this Hoya in bloom, check out Hoya sp. Rangsan video (day 19). It bloomed yesterday and since it has very similar flowers to Hoya sp. Rangsan I talk a bit more about them in that video. :)

    What a gorgeous plant. I purchased one about three weeks ago, it’s very small. I hope mine grows to be as beautiful as yours!

      Oh that is great! They are good growers, I am sure yours will be big and beautiful! I hope you have enough space for it when it gets massive :D

    I just received one in the mail today. Had no idea the leaves are this big! It’s beautiful but not going to fit in my plant shelf.

    My Hoya did same thing. One of the vines turned into a pot of gold, and it’s keep on going. I’m going to try to propagate and see if it continues.

    I have this hoya too, a small one though. I really like when you give it more lights and the edges turns pink/fuchsia color.

      Yes, I love that too! The leaves get very pretty indeed 😍

    My Macrophylla didn’t bloom this summer but now since the nights are getting cooler and started pushing a vine and leaf growth, average temp been 66 fahrenheit . I’m guessing this hoya enjoys cooler temps ?? Haven’t seen any video’s on CZcams suggesting that.

    The reverse variegation of this one is sometimes sold as macrophylla 'Pot of Gold'. Some nurseries in Florida have this one. :)

    • @BasiePlants
      @BasiePlants  Před 3 lety

      Oh, that one is lovely too :) There is a big chance it is also a latifolia. I am in search of true macrophylla from those in the know and so far, no luck!

    I need help! I just got this hoya and three of the leaves are limp and soft. What can I do?? I'm so scared!!

    • @BasiePlants
      @BasiePlants  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi! Did you check the roots? Or is it unrooted cutting? If the roots are healthy, just water it. :) If it's unrooted cutting, they will plump up as soon as the roots grow.

    Try smelling the flower at night, I’ve heard that makes a difference

    • @BasiePlants
      @BasiePlants  Před 4 lety

      Yes, sometimes it is morning, sometimes it is evening. It depends on the plant. I tried smelling mine at various times of the day, but I couldn't detect anytning. That said, it took me a month to realize one of my orchids gives off a beautiful scent at around 6 p.m. :D

  • @lauracoserea5937

    Do you use the regular Seramis granules or Seramis for orchids substrate?

    • @BasiePlants
      @BasiePlants  Před 4 lety +1

      We don't have seramis here. I bought mine from an orchid collector who buys it in bulk and resells small packages - but I never saw the original package. What can I tell you is that it's quite small, perlite size perhaps and I add it usually to smaller pots of Hoya :)

    Thanks for the great info. I just bought a decent sized one and was curious as to its care. How big did the plant get before you were able to stake it up?

    • @BasiePlants
      @BasiePlants  Před 4 lety

      I put them on a trellis or a stake as soon as they get 30-40cm long so I can control the growth a bit better. Doesn't always work 😂 I hope you found the video useful!

    • @BasiePlants
      @BasiePlants  Před 3 lety +2

      I have no idea :) I am not in the US. This one is about 50-60€ in Europe, a larger plant, depending when and where you get it. Cuttings, around 10€. Greetings from Serbia!

    • @BasiePlants
      @BasiePlants  Před 3 lety +1

      Check the roots for rot/ die back. In a good mix, they can be watered once or sometimes even twice a week, especially in summer. When you don't water for a long time, roots die back and if you water after that, you get root rot.
