    Happy for you guys! As a fellow homeschooling mom, for the last 2 years, you do feel burned out toward the end of a school year, at least I did. But, as the days go on, I'm asured God has me doing exactly what I'm supposed to be doing. My kids are thriving and we've never been happier ❤️ So much freedom in our day to day lives and we're more able to let the kids foster their own interests. There are so many good resources out there to make it exactly what your family needs. God's blessings on your new start!

    It was because the pandemic and schools closing that I discovered that homeschooling is an option even without the help of the public school providing the instruction. Honestly it was the best thing that happened. My son has done so much better academically and this new school year of 2023/2024 we will be living with his 4 nieces and nephews who are his age so he will have more socialization.

    I anticipated returning to school in person would be a struggle with quarantine requirements and knew it would be especially difficult for my youngest child who is on the spectrum and ADHD. I elected to continue homeschooling and began using a private homeschool curriculum in 2021.

    You can do it! I’m glad you made the best choice for your family. This is our third(I think) year homeschooling. If everyone is overwhelmed try to get outside or do something outside of the box. Put masking tape on the floor and measure and have races. Use shapes to fill in masking tape shapes.

    Sounds like the right decision for you. The constant back and forth would drive me nuts too. I'm glad we don't have to do that here in Oz, just watch for symptoms and only isolate if we have covid or an immediate family member gets it.

    I’m also a homeschooling mom of four kids :) We also use the good and the beautiful with two of my kids. I have a nerodivergent son and your experience is almost the same as far as the back and forth with public school and always feeling rushed and the meltdowns. 💛 I just wanted to mention that Unschooling is child led learning and has nothing to do with routines or schedules. We unschool and base our curriculum based on each child and what their learning styles and interests are. We have schedules and routines that shape our days.

      Ah thank you for clarifying!!

      By unschooling you’re robbing your children of their future. They need to learn discipline, hard work and things they don’t want to learn. A child won’t just wake up one day to say they want to learn difficult subjects. If you teach them to be led by their feelings, they will have very unstable future and many problems in life.

    We’re beginning homeschooling for our SPD boy. We’ve got twin toddlers and our oldest starts kindergarten next year. Hopefully we do ok. What curriculum do you use?

    • @AshbayFam
      @AshbayFam  Před 2 lety +1

      Oh I think homeschool will be a good option for your boy! Based on what you’d need for those ages, I use The Good + The Beautiful for LA, Horizons for math and apologia Word in Motion for Bible (if that’s relevant to you)

    Home schooling is quite foreign to me in Australia. Good luck. Seems to hard to me.

      It is hard somedays but we have a routine and make it work. I believe Chloe and Beans homeschooled for a long time and she’s in Australia
