My husband was born and raised in Antlers, which is about 30 miles north of Hugo. He knew of this cemetery and he brought me here in the late 1990s when we had gone up to visit his mom. It's an amazing place. Unique plaques and statues, and a real history of a bye gone era.
There is also one up in Forest Park Illinois, Woodlawn Cemetery, where the Showman's Rest contains the graves of performers who were on a circus train that carried the Hagenbeck-Wallace circus in 1918. A troop train plowed into the stationary circus train, killing 86 of the 400 performers on the train. Most were unidentifiable due to the fire that started from the crash. If you are interested in that video, it's on Faces of the Forgotten CZcams channel under the title 1918 CIRCUS TRAIN-WRECK THAT KILLED 86 Performers & Roustabouts - Showmans Rest at Woodlawn Cemetery.
