I'm sorry it's taken me so long to talk about this.. this album. My favorite album of 2016. People have asked me to talk about this album for years, and today we're going to do just that.
The album in question is called 'Much Love' by a band called Microwave. It's a beautiful alternative rock, emo-tinged album that feels like putting on an old hoodie you thought you'd lost.
If you've never listened to this album, please PLEASE give it a chance.

the best part about microwave is how versatile they know they are. death is a warm blanket is the best full length they could have put out after much love. they could’ve made essentially much love 2 and it would have been amazing and everyone would’ve loved it, but they didn’t. especially after the release of keeping up it seemed like they may had been going in a softer direction, something that was already seen from the departure from stovall to much love. death is a warm blanket seems like it came out of left field, but it may be the most microwave thing microwave has put out. they just did what they wanted to. another thing is that they are constantly changing up their live set lists, of course having the classics always there, but sprinkled in with some others you may not expect, with it being different every tour, whereas lots of bands just keep the same set list until a new album cycle. you never quite know what you’re gonna get and it makes seeing them live all that more exciting. they are legends at what they do and what they do is truly perfect.
Thank you for mentioning set lists. I feel most fans rarely mention that. I'm surprised how many music ...lovers(?) like Microwave. I mean their numbers are really high compared to many of their peers
i will forever be grateful to you because you interested me into my favorite genre that i’ve been listening to for years now and i’ll forever hope for new documentaries and videos but i’ve come to terms with it haha i hope you’re ok

I’ve been a massive fan of microwave for a little over a year now. All their albums are bangers. Saw them live a month ago, absolutely amazing. They are by far my favorite band right now. Death is a Warm Blanket I don’t think gets as much love as it deserves. I don’t think they have a miss. They’re great.
Stovall changed my life. Much Love was the greatest possible follow up to it. They're such great guys too. I hung with them a bit after a Memphis show back in 2015

So happy to have you back on here man, hope you are doing well. My AOTY is Trauma Factory by nothing, nowhere. Such a great album front to back that makes me feel all the emotions. I haven't listened to that Microwave album in a while so time to revisit.
Mate, I WISH you would've included Microwave in the title or thumbnail because this video has been sitting unwatched in my sub-box for 4 months now. Microwave is my favorite band and I agree with all you said, so happy you did a video on this album, maybe you could do a deep dive into them in the future.

Dude I have had Much Love on repeat for the last month. I had heard it but didn’t really appreciate it fully until right after Thanksgiving. I love it so much. You nailed the descriptions of each song. Vomit and Whimper back to back are heavy hitters and are probably my 2 favorites (Whimper has my heart) on the album, even though I don’t relate to Vomit at all really. Two really emotional jams. Glad you brought it up :)
Also, Life In Your Glass World by Citizen is AOTY, no doubt.

AOTY for me would definitely be the self titled release from Better Off. Hits all of the feels 2021 just wouldn’t let up
I love microwave so much. I used to absolutely scream to Vomit on my way to work every day. My best friend showed me their EP Nowhere Feels Like Home and I’ve been in love ever since- Never Again and Kansas kinda changed me in a weird way. It was so great to see them live a couple years ago, which was also where I fell in love with Hot Mulligan. So many good memories. Also, Keeping Up was the soundtrack to my life the year it came out.

I enjoy all of your videos dude. I used to listen to a few of their songs when I played drums for an old band I was in awhile ago honestly. And also definitely gonna listen to the microwave album for sure 100% after this video.
The cover art makes you think of a band from the 70’s your parents would listen to.
The music makes you feel like a mid 20’s stoner burn out. But in a way that’s not like too negative or judgy about it

My favourite band of 2021 called “Disco Witch”, with their album “Pottsfield” (a reference to over the garden wall, which happens to be my favourite show of All time). They’re emo but with a mix of folky acoustic guitar. They’re new, and not that big, but I think they deserve a much bigger audience for the quality of their music. They’re seriously amazing, and I’d love to see them blow up in popularity
Never able to decide between this and Death is a Warm Blanket for what's my favorite from Microwave.

I’m so happy this album is still getting love (no pun intended). I loved it when it came out and kept it on rotation for a long time. Definitely has a very special sound/feeling that I hadn’t heard before. No skips for me!

Favorite album of 2021 has to be Glow On by Turnstile. Wasn’t really into them til this album dropped but it definitely was more than enough to make me a fan.

This album is a banger. It's the album that got me into Microwave. Every song is fantastic. Lighterless reminded me slightly of the theme song to Wizards of Waverly Place.

i don't have a favorite band of 2021 but i have one for 2019 - and it has to be the backseat lovers. i highly recommend listening to 'When We We're Friends' and also 'Just A Boy.' the album is amazing, and i don't dislike a single track on it. as for the single, it definitely could've been the best song on an album or ep produced. i also really enjoy 'Elevator Days,' though that was in 2018. overall, i enjoy the vibes from the backseat lovers and have a lot of fun listening to their music.

Don't want to put much here, but I was wondering if you have any knowledge/thoughts on Real Friends and Dan Lambton parting ways, and Real Friends bringing on Cody Muraro to replace him as the lead. To me, this is really complicated and I can understand the frustration from both the band and the fans as they try to move to a new era. I feel like there's a lot to discuss regarding the change, and I haven't seen anyone really talk about it yet but I have a lot of thoughts and would be curious to see another 3rd party's perspective
