    What if you need to go toilet when driving, in my current job I just pull over and go in a bush or pub or whatever?

    Regarding breaks your information is not entirely correct, ie you need more than a 30 minute break if you drive for more than 8 and half hours. GB Domestic Rules - "If you work for at least 8 hours and 30 minutes, you must not drive for more than 7 hours and 45 minutes during this time. You must also take breaks that add up to at least 45 minutes. You must take the extra break at some point between working for 8 hours and 30 minutes and the end of your shift. "

      Yes you are correct when I made this I was going on what the company says for some reason the part about 8.5 hours or more having to have a 45 min break seems to be ignored
      I have brought this up with the union but nothings changed so I can only assume there’s a loop hole somewhere

      @@Thebusdriverphotographer Thank you for your reply. There seems to be a drastic disregard for this rule. I have contacted DVSA over this but they do not want to get involved. I have been told by them to launch my own legal case which is unbelievable as they are the government agency that should regulate this. There seems to be a massive lack of understanding with companies over this rule, they seem to think that it's ok if you are just taking a 30 minute break over a 10 hour shift and do not take the 8.5 rule into account. I have tried raising this issue with my employer but I am not a strong enough character to argue my case. I wish that this would be sorted out. The government website has recently changed the wording on this part of the UK domestic rules, I think to make it more clear but it is going to take more action to get this implemented across the country. Thank you again, perhaps you could look into this further or know of somebody who could take this on. Best wishes

    Five and a half hours driving, then a break, but the companies say that you can go for up to eight and a half hours, or is it eight hours, can't remember, providing that you have so many minutes at either end of the route which total 45 minutes within that period, then half an hour off, or finish your duty. Completely legal but bloody hell it is a killer.
    In London, we have to fill out a log card, a company requirement rather than a legal one, scribbling in the arrival and departure times, as well as the "turns", or curtailments,(lost mileage), that the controllers normally throw at you at the last minute, meaning possible confrontation with the passengers. Ye Gods, every PSV Driver wants to do the job properly, but give us a decent, do able schedule, I speak as someone in the game for forty plus years.

    What is the maximum hours i could drive per week? Have a young family id so much rather this then tramping!!

      @Thebusdriverphotographer  Před 5 měsíci

      With B&H its a 39 hour week
      starting on the 5 day week
      once youve been there a while you can go on the list for the 4 day rotas
      i think theres a part time rota but i dont know anything about that
      under certain circumstances you maybe be able to get your own rota line ie do the same every week
      obviously different companys have different policies
