  • Hey guyss,
    in this video I talked about what it's like being an exchange student in the US by sharing my experience and also my sister's. Before my exchange year I would look at videos like this because I was curious so I hope this will be helpful and interesting to watch for future exchange students!!
    I also have two videos on my channel about a day in my life in an American high school:

    As a former host dad from Virginia I would like to thank you girls for sharing your exchange experience. I’m sure it will be helpful to others contemplating exchange. Fun watching the interaction between siblings 😂

    It’s that you were only in the states for one year so people don’t expect to make long friendships with you.

    have there been times when you didn't understand what they were saying because you didn't know the words themselves. I really want to go to America as an exchange student, but I'm afraid I won't understand what they're saying.

      I had a good knowledge of English before going to the US. At the beginning of my experience it happened that I didn’t understand exactly what people were saying or they said words that I didn’t know the meaning of but I just asked them for a better explanation and they repeated what they said in different words (some people there will know that English is not your first language so they’ll help you out if you don’t understand something)

      I know a lot of exchange students that didn’t know much English before the exchange year and they learned it while in the US, so don’t let this fear stop you :)
      It helps to watch movies or tv shows in English with subtitles or to read books in English to improve in that language.

    What things do you wish you packed?

    • @kobyvlogs.
      @kobyvlogs.  Před 2 lety

      To be honest nothing because I packed pretty much everything I needed and if I was missing something I just bought it there

      @@kobyvlogs. my husband and I may be hosting a girl from Germany so I was trying to think of necessities or a cute gift to get!

      @@bookishmillennial5297 oh that’s so nice! I think you can get shampoo, conditioner, notebooks, pens for school… do a little basket with all necessities and maybe some sweets and leave it in her room, so when she comes she’ll find it. That’s what they did with me and I really appreciated that!
