    hee! I have a question, i really wanna go to the US for an exchange year ( im from holland btw ) but first i wanna to go with EF but i heard so many bad storys and expriences about it that i changed my mined and wanna go with an another company, was youre exprience with afs good? And when you had any problems or something did they help you good? I was wondering that because AFS seems good but i really wanna make sure that the organisation is good and that the people who you have to connect when you have any problems are good as well, i heard from experiences from EF that there connect person was like bestfriend with the host mom and etc, i have so many questions that i wanna ask you but then is it so many to read😂 sorry for my bad english💕

      Ik denk dat dit heel erg verschilt per persoon. Ik heb van EF 'slechte' verhalen gehoord, maar bijna iedereen die ik erover spreek is onwijs positief over hoe alles geregeld is binnen de organisatie. Er zullen elk jaar 'mindere' ervaringen zijn, maar dit zal bij elke organisatie zijn en niet puur EF. Kijk waar jij je goed bij voelt, en ga niet enkel of ervaringen van een paar mensen af. Ik zou je adviseren om naar meetings/informatiebijeenkomsten te gaan(inmiddels webinars ivm corona), zo leer je de mensen kennen en weet je hoe een organisatie werkt :)

      Kiara Rodriguez hi!!! Sorry if I’m responding only now. I think afs it’s a great association. They are generally really helpful in every situation and throughout the entire program there’s a person who’s close to you (that generally lives in your county or your city) and is there only for you anytime. Furthermore with afs you can also ask for a scholarship, which you can’t do with other associations (at least that I know). I don’t know much about EF, but my experience with afs was good. It’s obviously a personal opinion. Maybe other people would see it in a different way. Hope this helped :)

    I have a question some exchange companies don't let you be around minor drinking alcohol which basically means you can't go to parties does that rule exists if you go through afs???

    • @ariannaboccuni26
      @ariannaboccuni26  Před 4 lety +2

      someone yes, same things is for afs. That doesn’t mean you can’t go to parties: most times there’s not even alcohol at parties and most kids are really respectful of the law on the drinking age. That’s the last problem you can have. Trust me, there will be a lot of other fun occasions in which you will see your friends, that don’t necessarily include alcohol.

    • @ariannaboccuni26
      @ariannaboccuni26  Před 3 lety +1

      manal manal I went to us with afs. You can find information on how to apply on the website of afs. I’m sorry I can’t give more information about it but it depends on how afs works in your country and it changes if you are trying to win a scholarship or not. For example in Italy, if you pay the hole thing you can go wherever you want. If you apply for a scholarship (as I did) you need to pick different countries and then, based on your school grades they will assign you one of your choices. I hope this helped. Good luck !

    AFS isn't that great of an organization. If you have ever heard or read a negative review about the ong you'll know what I'm talking about.
    It seems that it's difficult to have a bad experience once you apply to them, but the truth is, it is actually pretty common. Most problems with AFS are caused by the negligent attitude of the organization itself towards the exchange students, their biological parents and their needs. It is also common to find cases of the organization completely ignoring the biological familie's questions about the program and giving the host family freedom to do whatever they want to the student, thus putting in danger the student's safety.
    I'm not trying to convince anyone, I'm just warning. There is a risk to applying to this program, and AFS isn't as safe as they say. This video only shows a couple of photos showing good moments, but what about the bad ones?

    • @ariannaboccuni26
      @ariannaboccuni26  Před 4 lety +3

      Jazz Handzz I do know what you are talking about. I can talk about my experience, and my experience with afs was good. But it did not depend on the association, I depended on my mindset. If something was wrong I tried to solve the problem and go on. Unfortunately during a year abroad bad experiences WILL happen. There will be A LOT of bad moment in which you will even ask yourself why you chose to do a year abroad. It’s NOT easy. Obviously a video can’t show the bad moments, but THERE ARE and I need to be honest in this. The fact is that in the end it’s all worth it, because you live A TON of beautiful days, you build A TON of amazing memories, you do things you would never do in your “normal” life and, you ALSO learn to overcome bad moments and situations (at least this is what happened to me). Regarding afs instead, I personally did not have the problems that you listed, and like me a lot of other people. Furthermore for some aspects afs has something more than the other associations (for example afs gives the opportunity to win a scholarship, and if it wasn’t for that I would have never been able to do a year abroad). Despite this It’s not 100% sure that everything will be perfect, because there are a lot of different factors and because every single experience is different, so I understand who thinks that afs is not that great. In fact I’m not trying to sponsor afs with my video. I just wanted to show a little bit of the 8 months I spent in us, which probably were the best of my life, even with bad moments. Sorry for the long response :)
