for anyone struggling to get decent rotation of the pullover with out assisting with the hands, I found the trick was to tuck and grab just as you hit the mat before you are coming back up ie don't start the tuck on your way back up because it's really hard to get the rotation started by then.
The most important part is getting over the anxiety of attempting one. If you second guess yourself midair then there’s almost a 100% chance you’ll bail out or land on your neck. After you full send it that first time it gets a lot easier.
Edit: Also try to learn a front flip first, it’s easier, and it gives you the experience of flipping your body.
Definitely. I could do a backflip on a trampoline for a few days in a row a few weeks ago. One time I tried, I landed on my neck and the top of my back and haven’t been able to get myself in the mindset to do one since.
@@frozengirlio6650 same, I hesitated once and landed on my neck and I couldn’t get in the mindset to do another backflip for about a day. I had to work my way back up, bouncing off of my back over and over until I could just not think about it and commit again, and now backflips are easy again. You just gotta work your way back up to being able to backflip.

Just don't overthink about what your doing , I made it through with this method, just try to do it enough fast before thinking about what your doing

I got to the part where you did a pull over which mind you was extremely easy but then when I tried to do a back flip I nearly broke my neck it would really help if you explained to me what I'm doing wrong
U guys likely all swung your head back. Back flip is jump up vertical, and thrust your hips forward (not your knees) before tucking, while keeping head aligned. By hip thrust, imagine you are dry humping while keeping your legs straight. Jump, dry hump, pull your knees in like the pull over.
make sure you are landing on your back, and keep on doing that for about 5 times. then try flipping to the side. and if it helps make sure to get a foam mat or any mat.

What I’ve been trying is to do a pullover off your butt instead of your back. It’s actually harder than a normal backflip I’ve heard. but if you can do that, it’s a lot easier to get over the fear
