Yeah, now Clemsoning means you win 2 titles in 4 years and you think you're perenially better than the team that won 2 of the last 4 AND 5 of the last 10 AND 17 all time.

Dabo knew that question was going to be asked at some point, and had all those facts committed to memory. He also knew recruits would see his response, and want to play under him. That epic rant was rehearsed, calculated, and brilliant. On a side note....no reporter has used that word around Dabo ever since. I almost felt sorry for the reporter...He had to be thinking...What have I done gotten myself into. One of the most epic coach rants of all time, along with Jim Mora and his famous playoffs speech after his team lost by having 5 turnovers and Herm Edwards, you play to win the game...hello rant.

+renaissancemen1 Over 110 ranked teams have lost to unranked opponents since Clemson lost to an unranked opponent in 2011. It will happen to Clemson again some day. But as long as coach Swinney is Clemson's coach, it won't happen often. Unless you pull for Alabama, recent history suggests your team will lose a game that it shouldn't before Clemson does so.

I root for sc (so cal, not sakerlina) and I currently attend ucla now. props to dabo. this coach stands up for his program as well as he coaches them. if anything, usc is the worst at "clemsoning." even with pete carroll, we lost in 2003 to cal, 2006 to oregon state and ucla, 2007 to stanford, 2008 again to oregon state, and 2009 to washington and arizona. even with kiffin and sark, usc has continued this trend of losing to unranked teams left and right (see stanford and washington). ucla has always been a clemsoning program too, lost to utah, stanford, arizona state...except they're worse. ucla loses to unranked opponents when they're about to be relevant. dabo's right, clemson's beaten great respected teams and won games they're supposed to, and I would enjoy having him as usc or ucla coach. the only 2 things missing are beating fsu and winning the acc...

There's a reason Clemson acquired that term. We are infamous for losing games we shouldn't. But we are also known for winning games we shouldn't. And there's a reason for that, it boils down to fundamentals. But not going to get into all of that. That said, I agree with what Dabo is saying. He's right, Clemson has played great (for the most part) this season. If we lose, we lose. We have a true legitimate shot of making it to the CFB Playoff and all we have to do is keep doing what we have been doing.

You would say "those people are clemsoning". No matter what it means it's simply not an adjective, so it's ironic that the op (presumably) tried to call out Dabo for being dumb and saying verb and that is was an adjective when it really is a gerund.

Actually its tons of fun. What could be more fun than winning and being on top? They just feel that talking to the media is a total waste of time and that could be doing so many more important things that would better their program. Plus, the current state of the media adds to this. They do daily press conference and each day they are filled with stupid questions or some attempt to create some controversy. This is typically when the coaches will remind the media just how much they don't like them and how stupid they in case they have forgotten. Fans love that shit too!
