Another great video! 😁 Even pre-owned RMs cost a lot of money. I do love a pre-owned bargain. I recently purchased a pair of Tricker’s Stow boots and was blown away not only by the quality but the fit. Their 4497 last fits almost identically to my GS Diesel boots, snug heels and a wide toe box. I’d thoroughly recommend them.
Yes.I don't know about some of RMW leather colors. I bought 2 pairs of Warwick Rickaby's because they are my favorite work boots. But it is a bloody Red boot.. I've made them brown.
@@Bootlosophy Just an aside. Chukka boots, good ones give 95% of a full boot. Too my unsophisticated eye go much better with short pants. And the usual crepe sole is better then most. Just a bit heavy, but very comfortable. Most Aussie men spend half their life in shorts.
Do you think that the weight of boots are important. Would a video on this be an idea. I'm tending towards medium weight boots from the heavy over engineered boots. As the lighted boots are often more comfortable
I'm glad that you kept them around, I remember I recommended you pair these when undyed with grey pants! the dye you choose makes these look really really nice and I am contemplating dyeing my pair now as well great video mate👍
Teik, what do you make of Rose Anvil’s cut-down of new RMs? I was disappointed with the apparent cost cutting and lower quality material choice exposed… Keenly waiting for your upcoming videos.
He was comparing apples to oranges. Pull up leather is thinner than yearling. Comfort craftsman has the comfort layer which is very different to the leather inner sole. The whole channel is turning to is garbage now.
@@ticctacc I’m not sure he did enough research to understand the difference between an old Classic Craftsman and the Comfort Craftsman which he may have thought was a “new” version. Also, RM uses different leathers with different characteristics so it was like comparing roughout to suede.
Thank you both for your replies. I rewatched the vid and saw that he was conflating the two different models as old/new - flawed argument. (Hopefully not intentional…) I was aware that the comfort model existed and had squishy features with wider appeal. Just revealing to see how much synthetics are in there for the same price. I don’t own RMs (a bit out of my price range - maybe I’ll try eBay) but as a national icon I hope they maintain the heritage and quality, and keep it Australian made. Eyes on you Twiggy…
@@Bootlosophyhmm. I still think he made some valid points even in talking about construction quality of the comfort version (ie ignoring the false comparison).
I dont think RMs should be as expensive as they are overseas, but apart from that the video was in total bad faith trying to paint two different models as somehow being a downgrade, when they both exist now just the same as they did during his first review. After all these years he is running out of content and needs to stitch together another "they dont make em like they used to" narrative to get clicks because viewers eat it up.
Hello Teik! I'm wondering if you'd have any recommendations on boot dyes for RMs? I've recently purchased a pair of second-hand gardener (brown - though they look to me to have burgundy undertones) and I'm hoping to turn them into a more chestnut-y colour. I've tried using a conditioner to darken them, but am looking for a more permanent solution - would you happen to have any suggestions at all?

Another colour I can’t figure out what to wear with. Sounds like dying is the way. Any good guides out there for a rookie?

Sorry but RM Williams are now priced in Crockett and Jones and Trickers price range in England, RM Williams are nowhere near the same quality
Beautiful boots!..Great video!!

Dam, I would let them as is. Wear real basic outfits and let the boots do their thing. I have been contemplating getting some navy CXL boots.
@@Brajin1 I have navy boots but the indigo is bright!
@@Bootlosophy fair point. Indigo has more POP to it.
I'd like to see a whole cut shell cordovan chelsea in Craftsman model. I'm baffled that RM isn't willing to be the first company to makenit
@@MrDitkovitch65 I’d suggest shell would be almost impossible to use in a wholecut
Shell cordovan by definition uses only a small peice of the hide.
Love the indigo but have no idea how to dress them up.
White chinos is all I can think of.
