Never lift up your patient like that. You transfer him over. but without lifting him up. Your back will be done in a year if you do that to every patient 8hrs a day.
I take care of elderly most of them can't bend their knees. You literally pick them up. But we don't use belts...we just hug them very tightly chest to chest. And the arms are held together behind the shoulder blades. No restraint on the back. Just the legs and shoulders. I don't know if this is better than the belt trick. But I don't see many videos of transferring people the way we do it.
Not advisable especially if the patient/residents is way too heavy or dead weight. It will get you in the future back pain. Thats is why ww have a lift machines like sara steady, hoist lift etc.

Unfortunately, not every country has public systems that give the devices people might need nor said devices are affordable to everyone, so yeah, unfortunately, that's how many people are moved from bed to chair... And that is how their family members ( because, again, not everyone everywhere around the world can afford to pay carers) have to learn to move them... Been there, done that😢
Oh no! You are holding the whole weight becareful! Thats not right. Plus you are seating him too far from the top. His legs will be hunging and you will have to lift him to pull to the top😢 He was supposed to be seating closer to the top.

Was Just thinking that too
How do you “transfer” vs “lift”?
Not a good lift. Back will break down🤣
Just transfer properly u dont need lifting like that..
Still need to use your left knee to his right knee.

lol how NOT to transfer a patient
One has to be strong enough to do that . Also there will be great stress on the back of the person doing the lift. THANK YOU.
It's literally breaking your back on ppl that have lived their life already.
That’s a 2 person pivot transfer everything is wrong here
Good job. My patient is too talk and heavy to try that. He can’t stand.
Someone cannot bear weight your to use a hoyer lift. No one is worth a broken spine.
I'm petite, and I had a patient who is way taller than me and his huge😂. The way I lift is by using pivot and momentum. It'll save my back😂

The disregard for his weak right arm when putting on the belt, though. 😢
And I am certified
Never lift. Pull towards you. It’s much easier for the both of you.
god bless them
I can’t my back will be hurt 😞 no way Jose
The wheel chair must be closer to the bed and it must be 40 degree
I still can't see how your lifting that man alone
C'est du boulot 😮😮😮😮
You should hold the shoulder
I have been trained caregivers
What about if the body is hard?
Uses a different technique, that's not correct way, if you like to break your back do it.
I agree
You gonna kill your back.
Should have been transferred closer to his pillow, not at the end of bed.
That technique is illegal in the UK and for good reasons
You're so right ✅️
I agree
Use a hoyer lift

That’s a wrong way to transfer… always use a lift belt to protect your back or else your back will be in trouble
👍👍👍

Your back it at risk. Be careful
Bend with your knees not with your back technique
I was going to make a wheelchair joke but I don't think he would be able to stand it
😅
I see is all wrong
Completely wrong way of transferring a patient. Don not follow.
You will hurt your back
Bad manual handling techniques
