  • It is essential to follow proper transfer techniques to reduce the chance of injury. In addition, it is vital to use good body mechanics whenever you move a patient or lift, push, or pull an object. Even a light load can cause lower back strain if poor body mechanics are used.

My experience in moving a patient from a bed to a chair taught me that the first thing that nurses or at least I need to do is be strong because, in reality, all of us encounter big patients, and if we weren't physically prepared to move them, we might not be able to do so. As a result, I learned from Sir Pizarra that in addition to caring for patients and administering medications, nurses also need to perform other duties.
One of our responsibilities as nurses someday will be to help patients who are ill, so handle any protests and make sure you can and that your body is strong enough

Based on my experience it was a very helpful for me because way back time that i only see people being in wheelchair I didn't know how the patient make to the wheelchair. It was overwhelmed that i finally know how it should be done correctly to protect and care the patient. This is a big help in the near future in any situation. Especially to my family.

This video helps our retdem perform the exact procedure. As a student nurse who once performed this procedure, I admit it's quiet hard, especially since I don't have the strength to transfer the patient. I should be able to gain more strength in order to lift the patient carefully. Despite that, I performed and delivered the procedures very well. I can say that this video really helps nursing students transfer the patient to a wheelchair.
Understanding also the patient's needs is required while transferring them from a bed to a wheelchair. Always speak with the person being moved to ensure that help is provided at the appropriate moment.

As I read the checklist for the transfer of bed to wheelchair and wheelchair to bed, I will admit that I had a difficult time executing it properly with my patients, even though I read it many times. The outcome of what I've imagined from the video I watched is just far from what I reasonably expect and hope to accomplish. Thank you for making this video available to serve as a resource for how to appropriately execute it. When I did the patient transfer demonstration, I observed that understanding the rubrics well will assist you in executing the appropriate technique to complete it effortlessly.

Throught our return-demonstration, I was able to experience it I learned a lot that would really help me. I learned that moving a patient safely is very importantant. It is very important to know the techniques to make the process safer and easier. The patient safety is the main concern when moving patients from bed.

As a student nurse who's still perplexed and just trying her best to combat the adversities that came alongside her chosen course, I admit that prior to completing the return demonstrations, I once had doubts and found it very hard to know where to start; Frankly speaking, all these are new to me. Before I thought I had at least some of the basic informations I'd need to back me up and understand Nursing in a bigger picture, but after experiencing what might just be the closest thing to Nursing I can go (atleast for now) through retdems such as the Transfer from Bed to Chair, I found out how wrong I was. It's almost like a slap back to reality of what I'm really putting myself into. Fortunately for me, the entire experience from the first block, and the guidance that our clinical instructor has provided us really helped me.

The act of moving a patient from a chair to a bed and vice versa is known as patient transfer. In order for the patient to experience little to no strain on their end, I, the student nurse, had to bear the patient's weight. I had a hard time moving the patient, and that made me realize that I needed to work on becoming in better shape.

Patient transfer is whenever a patient is moved from one surface to another such as a bed, stretcher, wheelchair or to toilet. A patient must be cooperative and predictable and able to bear weight, otherwise a two-person assist or mechanical lift is used to prevent injuries. This video teaches the proper and correct way in trasnferring a patient, either from a one-assist, two-assist or the use of mechanical lifts. Through our return demonstration, I was able to experience it the hard way but still i learned a lot that I know will really help me.

I believe that before finishing the performance of the return demonstration, I once had a doubt and had a lot of trouble knowing where to start. I say this as a student nurse who is still upset and trying to fight against challenging circumstances that are close to his chosen course. All of this is new to me, to be honest. Before, I believed I had at least some of the fundamental knowledge you'd need to support me and comprehend nursing in the broadest sense, but after seeing what may occur close to the nurse-a retadem-like transition from bed to sofa-I realized how mistaken I was. It feels almost like I'm wearing a smack. luckily for me, my first block's experiences and the guidance of our clinical instructor have been really beneficial. Patient transfers are a crucial but frequently overlooked part of patient care. Transfers of patients are an essential part of patient care that must be carried out with strict adherence to clinical standards. Effective transfers are founded on the idea that continuity of care should be maintained both during and after the transfer. Although they may seem obvious, successful patient transfers depend on being aware of each patient's unique requirements and following evidence-based recommendations. Patients can be moved between facilities and within the same facility as part of patient care transfer.
This video taught me the significance of secure patient transfers and patient protection. I witnessed patient transfers from a wheelchair to a chair and chair to a wheelchair throughout the demonstration. The experience was both informative and skilled. The student will undoubtedly comprehend and analyze the correct methods if they learn while using the stages and approaches in the presentation.

Transfers involve moving a patient from one flat surface to another, such as from a bed to a stretcher.
I watched the video before we perform so that I can learn the correct way on how to do the transfer from bed to chair properly.
The day that I performed the transfer from bed to chair I learned that this is very helpful not just in the hospital I can do this procedure when we have senior citizen etc. in our home.

  • @GirlieIsabelleVillarmeaSaavedr

Moving a patient safely from bed to chair and vice versa is very important, as it can either help them move around the place or their surroundings or put them in a more dangerous situation or cause injury. Proper body mechanics should be used in doing patient transfers, as it can cause injury to the nurse and patient if it is not done correctly. I once experienced transferring a sick patient, and after the return demonstration of the patient transfer, I realized that it was not all correct and my body mechanics could have been better. This return demonstration was a learning experience.

Transferring bed to wheelchair and wheelchair to bed is important skill so that the patient can easily be transferred from the flat surface to another. While watching the video I realized that transferring the patient is not just casual because if you don't know what to do your patient may have an accident.
While I performed the transferring bed to wheelchair and wheelchair to bed I learned some techniques on how to transfer the patient and some important things to do before you transfer them.

  • @beverlymontederamos1543

The primary concern when transferring from bed to chair or chair to bed is the patient's well-being. In fact, this is one of the most crucial pieces of information for aspiring nurses to learn. One of the necessary abilities is the ability to transfer to and from a wheelchair. Learning the best practices and being familiar with the equipment available to you can make the procedure much less dangerous and more manageable. Incorrectly moving a patient from a wheelchair to a bed is a leading cause of serious accidents.
As I saw the video, I thought, "This is easy," but I think it was tough when I actually had to do it. If we ever find ourselves in a position to aid a family in need, it will be important that we are familiar with the process.

  • @graceylleoctaviovillareal7242

Transferring to and from a wheelchair is one of the essential skills a wheelchair user will learn. Whether they transfer themselves or transfer with the help of a caregiver, it’s vital to understand the safest techniques and the equipment available to make the process safer and easier. Transferring between a wheelchair and a bed is risky if done incorrectly, and is a common cause of falls and injury.
Patient safety is often the main concern when moving patients from bed. But remember not to lift at the expense of your own back.

  • @khythryndanykapacris1819

Patient transfer is important to allow a patient to function in different environments and to increase the patient's level of independence. It is also important for the patient's safety due to the nurses' guidance to avoid them moving too much, which may cause additional severe injuries. This video includes a complete demonstration, I can learn what to do when transferring the patient from bed to chair and chair to bed from this video. As a nursing student, this will be extremely beneficial. When I tried the patient transfer demonstration, I discovered that with proper patient handling, I can transfer patients from one surface to another.

After learning that the objective of transfers-moving a patient from bed to chair and from chair to wheelchair-is to enable the patient to function in a variety of contexts and raise their level of independence. Communication and preparedness are the two most crucial things to think about before transferring, regardless of where you go. Collaboration comes from open communication, and you will need your patient's assistance to make a transfer that is secure for both of you.

A transfer can be seen as a chance to teach someone how to improve their independence by moving them safely from one place or surface to another with the aid of a caregiver or healthcare experts. Patients who are unable to relocate benefit from it.
Patients frequently receive care both during and after hospitalization in a variety of venues, depending on the complexity. Even though some components of patient transport vary depending on the patient's condition, intrahospital transports are always necessary, especially for patients who are severely ill. Patient transfers should be done carefully because poorly planned ones can increase morbidity and death.
It's important to comprehend the patient's demands before transferring them from a bed to a wheelchair. To ensure that assistance is provided when it is needed and to allow the patient and the aid to coordinate their efforts, it is important to always speak with the individual being transported. A one-person help may be carried out if the patient is capable of supporting their own weight with both lower extremities and can predictably take short steps. A two-person transfer or a motorized lift might be required to securely transfer the patient if these requirements are not met.

After conducting the Patient Transfer, it took a lot of rhythm and strength to perform the procedure in a way that protects patients' and nurses' safety. Nurses must be able to handle the patient with a mass of power, upon lifting the patient from bed to chair and chair to bed, in order to provide safety and comfort to the patient. Though I believe that the key to conducting Patient Transfer would be communication and preparation between nurse and patient. Without proper communication between the two channels, the procedure would be conducted in a difficult manner, due to the lack of coordination and understanding as to why and how the Patient Transfer will be conducted. Preparation as well is vital, since nurses must remember how to perform the procedure that will contribute safety of the patient during the process, and the safety of the nurse as well. Since possibilities could occur of the nurse having to lift/carry the patient in a way that would lead to the nurse having back pain or back strain. During the conduct of the Patient transfer, many would see such a procedure as an easy fleet. Though many factors contribute to one action. This is why conducting the Patient Transfer correctly is highly important, since the safety, care, and life of the patient, are in the hands of the nurse that hopes to provide the best hospital care to the patient.

Patient Transfer: Transfer from Bed to Chair and from Chair to Bed.
Patient Transfer is the process of transferring a patient from bed to chair and vise versa while following detailed steps in order to provide the patient with utmost care and avoid the patient from suffering any kind of additional injury in the process of transferring.
As I was watching the video about patient transfer what came to my mind was the thought that this process would definitely be difficult, and I wasn't wrong. Once I had finished my return demonstration on patient transfer I came to have many realizations. One of them is that as nurses or student nurses we should take care of ourselves in order to provide quality care to our patients. Also, since the patient's would be relying on the nurses, then nurses should always be cautious of everything they do because the outcome of what nurses do can directly affect the patient's condition. Just like what I've experienced in patient transfer, I had to carry the patient's weight in order for the patient to have less to no strain on their end. I had a difficult time while transferring the patient and that helped me realize that I should work on getting into better shape and stronger body so that I could carry out tasks well and be of great help to the patient.

PATIENT TRANSFER: Transfer from Bed to chair and chair to bed.
    SUMMARIZATION
When transferring a patient from bed to chair or vice versa, place one of your knees between the person's knees. Hold the gait belt or its handles. Slide the patient slowly across the board to the wheelchair. Avoid allowing the person to wrap his arms around your neck or grab you. To balance and support the individual, use a transfer belt. Place the transfer surfaces (wheelchair and bed) close together. Check the wheelchair's position and brakes. To avoid straining or excessive reaching by the health care provider, it may be necessary to move the patient to the side of the bed.
    REFLECTION
Patient safety is often the main concern when moving patients from bed. But remember not to lift at the expense of your own back. This transfer often requires the patient's help, so clear communication is essential. If the patient can’t help much, you’ll need two peopl or a fully body sling lift. When patients are weak, brace your knees against theirs to keep their legs from buckling. Also, transfer toward patient’s stronger side if possible.
