    You should make a video about lifting a patient off the floor. That is the reason I got one of these, for when my wife falls. The overall procedure is the same except the legs have to straddle the patient.

      The straps are based on the individual. but I always use blue on top when putting someone in the chair because it helps sit them up so, you don't have to pull later. Let the hoyer work for you. Even when putting them in get behind and pull them to the head then lower the lift. No boost later. Let the hoyer work for you.

    • @joankeane2571

    • @Sam-gv1bk

      So typically with these lift sheets there are different colors that indicate how upright a person will be. By using all the same color all throughout the person will be more flat and This is good for getting back to bed, but if the person is going on the commode, it would be better to be in an upright position which is done by adjusting those colored loops. On top it should be the colors that are closest to the person, and on the bottom the colors farthest from the person :)

    • @rose-zy4me
      @rose-zy4me Před 10 dny

      Hello..the hospice nurse told me you don't use the same colors for head and hip/leg area..cause the head needs to be sitting upright..as the bottom half of the person sitting position..just got the hoyer tonight..I haven't used it yet for my husband, but hooking the net to me it looks as if..the first loop..ours red..for head, then 2nd loop..yellow should work, next loop is green. Nurse says just position over the bed first..til you figure which colors work best for the position..will see tomorrow..

    Problem is assistant living and personal care facilities are not permitted such apparatuses. All lifting is done manually. There is no safe way to lift a resident weighting over 200 lbs if you have a small frame.
