  • Honda popularized the idea of turning a B-segment MPV into a 7-seater B-SUV when they launched the BR-V in 2016. Now they have the all-new 2023 Honda BR-V in a variety of trim levels, including this range topping 2023 BR-V 1.5 VX with Honda Sensing. Does it make sense at its price range? Our EIC takes one for a few days to find out.

    Hi Sir good day, favor just to ask, what’s your actual experience using ACC with BR-V VX?
    if I’m not mistaken the minimum speed is 40km and above in order to use ACC,
    what’s your actual experience if any when the car in front of you suddenly stopped unexpectedly?
    Thank you Sir 😊🙏

      The electronic park (not hand) brake and auto hold are not basic features. It's a fancy replacement for the proven and reliable pull-up handbrake and foot pedal brake.
      I'm actually glad it uses the old school handbrake which is easier and intuitive to use and less of a concern when it comes to maintainance. I have a car with the electronic park brake and I often find myself looking down to look for it. The pull-up handbrake you don't need to look for it.
      Honda Sensing provides more value in terms of safety.

  • @MiggyMndza
    @MiggyMndza Před rokem +13

    At first, I believed that this will be a better MPV than the Stargazer. If we're not gonna look at the badges tho, the former is a better car overall. The one thing that irritates me for all BRV variants is the lack of Telescopic steering adjustment whereas the competition already has such thing even years ago with the Xpander alone. The lack of cruise control for the lower V and S variants is another bummer here, a standard cruise control unit would've been a treat for families who are also into long drives but doesn't have the budget for a whopping 1.390M VX model.
    With that said, I still think the BRV is miles better in terms of looks especially with the interior vs the Stargazer and still something I'd choose over a Veloz. Over an Xpander tho? Probably not, especially how the Mitsu manages to be a better all-rounder than this.

    • @inzane456
      @inzane456 Před rokem +3

      Pretty difficult to justify Mitsubishi's price point these days. Their short list of features is absurd given the competition. Would it really kill their profitablity to give the Xpander 4 more airbags...?

    • @nuj0624
      @nuj0624 Před rokem

      looks is subjective though... BRV looks way better outside than the stargazer, but i'll give the interior to the stargazer... the stargazer is of better value too... i had the VX on my shortlist until i saw the interior personally...

    • @inzane456
      @inzane456 Před rokem

      @@nuj0624 I don't disagree. Spec wise the Stargazer is the clear winner between it and the Xpander, but this is only on paper. @@inzane456 i think i may just be nitpicking on the BRV VX, i was expecting better materials used and interior layout at that price... on a positive note, the legroom is good on the new BRV... prob comfortable enough for an hour or 2 on whoevers sitting on the 3rd row...

    • @inzane456
      @inzane456 Před rokem

      @@nuj0624 I don't think you're nitpicking, there is definitely alot to be improved when it comes to Honda's interior design and overall quality. I have noticed across all their cars everywhere, they are not necessarily well regarded in the area of interiors. Toyota has the expertise of Lexus, Mazda is transitioning into a luxury brand, Nissan and Mitsubishi have Infiniti and Renault, Hyundai and Kia have Genesis. Honda has Acura, but Acura is just a higher end Honda performance badge if we're gonna be honest. I agree and think your opinion on the matter of their interior is quite appropriate.

      Certainly in terms of performance. Veloz with a body that's almost as big as Innova already but only making 104 hp makes me worried about it when climbing uphills, and same is true with others that have similar engine horsepower. Not to mention Veloz's very thin exterior materials that are also quite easy to break compared to others. And yes, fuel efficiency too.
      I could forego an EPB and power tailgate if it means I could confidently climb uphills fully-loaded without any problem than to have those fancy features but fail at the most important role of a vehicle - to bring me everywhere I want to go.
