To be honest when dealing with a large amount of money in small bill I once gave the wrong amount back. I was short 50 bucks but was so confident I wasn't. I went back and found the error. Mistakes can happen. Not often but they do.
I've worked as a cashier, as a part time job when I was a university student...it was at a a busy SHELL Fuel station along with a shop in it..I was handling the cashing for the fuel sales, oils, car wash, shop etc...at times people would try tricks here and there to try to get me to open the cash register, but i wouldn't have it...if they had a problem they could go complain to the owner as I was having no B.S from scammers...when you're in a job where you handle cash, you need to be very slick

People used to try this type of stuff with me when I was a cashier. Change the amount of change or talk over me. Businesses need to warn their staff in training & especially around the holidays. If you notice this happening don't get flustered. Stop take your time. If they change the amount of change they want finish what you were doing first, then proceed with their next request. Your manager will never fire you for protecting their money & in return your own ...

this happened with me in Delhi a lady gave me 2000 rs note and purchased some thing but for some reason she took 2000 rs note back put in purse and she was asking for 2000 again she was in group ,they confused me so much that I was going to give 2000 again but some how I managed..

He shouldn't be arrested for quick change scam because it wasnt a quick change scam. Cashier was just dumb enough to give him 500 and again seconds later 480. How could he forget he passed him over 500 in that short space of time before passing him 480. 99.9% of the people wont fall for this kind of so called scam.
When I was a cashier at a young age as my first job, I took it slowly but surely. I received $50 ok, I'll say it loudly to make the guy aware that I am pretty sure what denomination I received as payment. I'm always one step ahead of effing scammers.

I got done over once but was down to having a lazy manager, in england we can accept scottish currency because it is all classed as 'british pounds sterling' but notes are designed directly to different i had a £50 scottish note once and asked my mangaer who was on the counter next to me if this was a note we can take (mainly becuase i had to check with her anyway if we got handed £50 notes) , she didnt look and said if its sterling then yes. One guy tried doing this to me, he waited until it got busy and came to me. Asked for a drink and gave me a 20, he asked for it back cause he said he forgot he needed it for gas. So I gave him the 20 back and took the 19 and asked for the 19 back cause he said I didn't give him the 20 or whatever and I said no I definitely did. And he kept insisting and I was getting pissed and I said look sir, im very busy please let me assist them then I can help you. Then he got angry with me and I didn't take it anymore and raised my voice at him and said I could call the police so we could resolve this and he said fuck you and left. It's not even caring about the job, it's just memorizing things. I snapped when he insulted my intelligence or memorization.
People keep blaming the cashier but these scammers have a way of completely confusing these cashiers , distracting them , making them feel stupid , and making them second guess themselves . The cashiers literally don’t realize what has happened til the person leaves . I had a guy who was leaning in close, talking and distracting me while he switched a 20 dollar bill I had just given him back for change with a one dollar bill . Then he accused me of giving him a dollar back instead of 20 . My advice to cashiers is to stop , get a manager , and immediately have them count your drawer down to figure out if you indeed have a cash difference in your drawer . I’ve also had cashiers short changing customers and keeping the change as well . Thievery is so rampant but karma eventually will catch up these people .

People used to try this type of stuff with me when I was a cashier. Change the amount of change or talk over me. Businesses need to warn their staff in training & especially around the holidays. If you notice this happening don't get flustered. Stop take your time. If they change the amount of change they want finish what you were doing first, then proceed with their next request. Your manager will never fire you for protecting their money & in return your own ...

this happened with me in Delhi a lady gave me 2000 rs note and purchased some thing but for some reason she took 2000 rs note back put in purse and she was asking for 2000 again she was in group ,they confused me so much that I was going to give 2000 again but some how I managed..
Similar has happen to me once in my shop,one customer came and asked the price of female sweater i told him its 800 INR,he didn't bargain and gave me 2000 INR when i gave him the sweater and give him the change of 1200 INR he started to negotiate about the price when i told him i don' t agree with the negotiation he return back the sweater and ask his money back which i did,after a few sec he asked again the sweater i said ok give the money back first he didnt say anything and just walk off the store
He shouldn't be arrested for quick change scam because it wasnt a quick change scam. Cashier was just dumb enough to give him 500 and again seconds later 480. How could he forget he passed him over 500 in that short space of time before passing him 480.

Before he starts the confrontation you can see him nervously feeling up the back of his head and running his hand through his hair. That is a very common nervous tick and should be a red flag. The cashier just got intimidated.

I’m SO GLAD that where I work, we IMMEDIATELY have to drop $100 and $50 bills. I work graveyards 10pm-5am). If ANYONE tries to add something just before I give them their change back, I don’t stop. I give them their change, THEN sell them the scratchers (or whatever) they want to buy. Cashier just needs a little help, or needs to help only one at a time.

I got done over once but was down to having a lazy manager, in england we can accept scottish currency because it is all classed as 'british pounds sterling' but notes are designed directly to different i had a £50 scottish note once and asked my mangaer who was on the counter next to me if this was a note we can take (mainly becuase i had to check with her anyway if we got handed £50 notes) , she didnt look and said if its sterling then yes. One guy tried doing this to me, he waited until it got busy and came to me. Asked for a drink and gave me a 20, he asked for it back cause he said he forgot he needed it for gas. So I gave him the 20 back and took the 19 and asked for the 19 back cause he said I didn't give him the 20 or whatever and I said no I definitely did. And he kept insisting and I was getting pissed and I said look sir, im very busy please let me assist them then I can help you. Then he got angry with me and I didn't take it anymore and raised my voice at him and said I could call the police so we could resolve this and he said fuck you and left. It's not even caring about the job, it's just memorizing things. I snapped when he insulted my intelligence or memorization.

The cashiers literally don’t realize what has happened til the person leaves . I had a guy who was leaning in close, talking and distracting me while he switched a 20 dollar bill I had just given him back for change with a one dollar bill . Then he accused me of giving him a dollar back instead of 20 . My advice to cashiers is to stop , get a manager , and immediately have them count your drawer down to figure out if you indeed have a cash difference in your drawer . I’ve also had cashiers short changing customers and keeping the change as well . Thievery is so rampant but karma eventually will catch up these people .
