Linda Perry, the singer and main songwriter for 4 Non-blondes, grew up in a single-parent family with a couple of siblings and unfortunately, she suffered some physical abuse by her mother and some sexual abuse by at least one of her mother's boyfriends. She started playing music very young, playing solo often at open mic nights. Her early songs were raw and angry and most definitely a cry for help. She had a very messed-up world view, and songs like "What's Up" reflect this. The song was released in 1992, on their debut album. Linda had severe anxiety and stage fright when it was time for a show, and she started using heavy drugs to try to ease it. About three albums in, the band broke up. Just before the Millennium, after getting off drugs, Linda decided to forge a new career, as a producer and mentor to up-and-coming female artists. Two of her first mentes were Christina Aguilera and Pink. Lands is a hugely successful songwriter and producer, so much more comfortable being behind the scenes than performing.

They share parenting. They announced their engagement in April 2013 and married on March 30, 2014. Gilbert gave birth to their son Rhodes Emilio Gilbert Perry, on February 28, 2015. When she talks about the brotherhood of man. She reflects about life is defined by patriarchal systems. In other words the brotherhood is designed to cater for anything that oppressed women and set out to define who they are and how they should live. A good example is when the decision on birth control was made by all male politicians. That discussion is still on going. So when she says whatever that means. It means we live in a system of decisions made by men. And it plays down that we are but sheep following them blindly. In this song she questions that system in how we are defined and made to live our lives. It's not an anti male assumption. It's just that she questions what the hell is going on when others make decisions on our behalf without us even thinking or talking about it. Mainstream media is a definite tool that shapes the way we think and process information. And it usually plays into the benefit of that brotherhood of man. Men and women who are led blindly into a system of being unbalanced and catering for a one-sided power structure. She basically telling us not to accept what's in front of us, fed to us through so many unbalanced power systems. But to question these structures. And to ensure the voices of all are heard.

Billy as you're doing female artists, have you reacted to?
Janis Joplin, Ball and Chain, live at the Monterey Pop Festival 1967? Considered one of the best and so unique.

Have you ever checked out Sara Bareillis? She covers everything from sad and emotional to happy and fun. I would say sad=Bluebird or She Used to be Mine, fun= Brave or King of Anything and a good post break up song is Gonna Get Over You
