    you are the ONLY person who has mentioned that you no longer need to use an air stone with the new uplift tubing, ty so much! I absolutely couldn't figure out how to put the air stone in and connect the tubing to the little connectors on the side of the tubes..., the other videos either ignored it altogether or they just said this holds your tubing, after they installed the airstone! Nothing on the box or Cory has mentioned that it no longer needs an air stone.... You have no idea how happy you made me! I thought I was losing my mind that I couldn't figure it out. I am going to subscribe to your channel! Know anyone who needs a few Ziss air stones, lol. bought them the same order as the new sponge filters. oh well. 😊

      Thank you so much for the feedback. So we are in the process of replacing all of stones with these at the store (140 tanks) because of the maintenance. keeping up with the maintenance was big, we are hoping these will help.

    Love the versatility of these! Avoiding mineral build up plus creating better flow. And for a killer price. I use them in my 40 breeder and 20 longs. Game changers.

    Cory mention in one of his videos to have flow around the heater. If I place this filter at one end of my 10 gallon, where would it be best to place my heater to get the most water flow?

    • @natureaquariumsusa
      @natureaquariumsusa  Před 2 měsíci

      Great question. I would place it in the same side as your sponge filter. The sponge filter draws water to itself so it creates a slow flow.

    I just got a couple of the kits and will be putting them in tanks today. I’m eager to see how they change the dynamic of the aquariums I put them in.

      I think you’ll like them. We’ve tried two for a month at the store before I made the video. Like it a lot

      One is working nicely in a 29g right now. I wanted to use it to replace a tiny submersible pump I was using in a 40g breeder for a waterfall, but it wouldn’t move water above the waterline. I’ve seen videos where others are doing it, but I couldn’t get it to work this morning.

      I finally got it working the way I want. So it’s all good now!

    Have you ever tried using it on a generic sponge filter? Something with a fine sponge, not coarse like the Aquarium Co-op one.

      Hi great question. I have a couple of other brand sponge filters, so Ill try them and make a short video on it. Thank you

    If you have a divided tank I could see the appeal, otherwise just another gadget IMHO. I have sponge filters in all of my aquariums.

      So I didn’t realize how much better the flow is and finer the bubbles are until I tried it for a while. Remember we have 140+ tanks and the store with lots of sponge filters and I really like the way the bubbles flow and no stone to unclog. Obviously this will be a slow process for us to upgrade our filters but it will reduce our maintenance on all these tanks

    Are they good for a 75 gallon tank that will house swordtails?

    How quiet are they with their nano air pump? I have a Fluval 307 on my 20 long, but I’m tired of the water noise.. I want low flow for my chili rasboras.

    • @natureaquariumsusa
      @natureaquariumsusa  Před 4 měsíci

      Hi so it all depends where you aim the flow. If you leave a straight tube it will be noisier as the water bubbles to the surface. If you use the elbow it is very quiet

    Can I use it with other brands of sponge filters?

      I wouldn’t be able to tell you. As different brands have different diameter collars. I don’t want to give you wrong information

    Doesn't a powerhead do the same thing

    • @natureaquariumsusa
      @natureaquariumsusa  Před 8 dny

      It can with a sponge filter attachment. Some people like to run air filters because they have a single air pump for multiple tanks or they run a battery backed up air pump. Multiple ways to accomplish the same thing. No wrong or right way just another way

      @@natureaquariumsusa I bought the small for my 20 gallon long as suggested, but no matter what I do the flow tube sticks up out of the water so I get zero bubbles.

    • @natureaquariumsusa
      @natureaquariumsusa  Před 4 dny

      Hi. So the way a sponge filter works is that its primary function is not to bubble your tank. It uses the rise of air bubbles to move water through the sponge. We have 80% of our stock tanks are 20 longs and on many of them the elbow tube is out of the water. That’s fine because it is moving water. Just like a canister filter. So as long as you are rippling the water it oxygenates the water.
