I really feel the ‘tips’ issue. So many people ask for tips on how to get good at piano fast. It’s not fast, it’s not painless, there is no cheat code for it. The ability to delay your gratification is vital.
If anything i believe people should find gratification in the process of improvement. I play music as well and I used to wish I was amazing at the get go but soon realized that I found most of my joy in music from the continuous practice, even when it feels like crap, even when I don’t want to, even when i have to do all the annoying things like recording myself and analyzing and stuff, I find that all part of the passion and joy in learning music and anything in general. There is no cheat in life, it’s a matter of learning to enjoy the process
but for anything one can optimize their learning by hyper concentrating on everything you need to know pair that with the right exercises, experience to build that connection in your brain so it stays solidly in your brain the difference between a person who can play triads and a person who could solo using only triadic notes and have it sound good requires optimal learning

"Go on a walk" is such a simple tip but is really so, so effective. I've been working from home, freelance editing and streaming the past few months and staying inside all day, every day, will literally make you go insane. My escape from redundancy has been going for a walk and even playing VR. Little escapes make all the difference in the world.
It doesn't need to. This channel's genre is very niche. It feels better as a specific channel were content creators go to. His content is not for the mainstream audience and that's a good thing.

I also do the midnight walks on my dead end street. It is by far my best way to reset. This video is fantastic and one I will reference when people who are starting out ask me for the path to success. 💪
Adam the honest reply I’ll give you to why I thought that way is because when I first watched big streamers on twitch in my game category they all sucked. They weren’t funny although all the chat laughs, the content was repetitive and I couldn’t see anything special about their personality. I apologize to myself for thinking I’d attract more viewers and have a better personality even though I know I am much more entertaining than some of them
Your content has helped me so much and the fact you give this all for free along with your alerts with guides on how they work etc is just incredible. This might hurt someones "feelings" might even get hate, but if you're starting from zero and your sole intentions of becoming a "streamer" or "content creator" is to become "rich" or for the money only. Then you're not going to get too far. You're quickly going to get demoralized sooo fast. If you don't enjoy editing your own content/ videos. Interacting/ helping a community it's gonna feel like a chore and let's be honest, no one likes doing chores that they are forced to do. I'm referring to someone new who wants to start in this overly saturated community of "content creating/ streaming" I am not referring to someone who is already "established"

3:40 Damn I felt that on another level...when I first started making content I never felt it was good enough, or that I was copying someone. Eventually I just stopped cause I would record TONS of footage, but never made them into videos, cause I was afraid to fail. I wouldn’t say I’ve succeeded, but I’ve learned a new skill if anything, and it’s fun, and awesome.
^ i cant explain how many times ive deleted footage that was probably ok but i always say 'nah its prolly shit' its taken me almost 2 years to realise that my problem was that i was scared to fail. i only truly realised this like 2 days ago and now my mind has shifted from "this isn't good enough, its trash and probably gonna fail" to "if it fails, it fails. im going to do my best and learn from what doesn't work and improve on it that's all I can do." and I feel thats what holds so many people back its definitely what held me back from actually now wanting to try and try over and over again. (sorry for the mini-rant?)
My channel and life improved when I went for a walk first thing in the morning and in the afternoon. It is my version of driving to work. My phone goes into my backpack, and just listen to music. But the movement of my legs, the pain in my calves whne I push it, and my eyes focused on the sidewalk, has been meditation for me. I find it opens a door in my brain to my problems and allows me to find solutions. Walking and/or meditation has changed my life. I schedule it, and I never miss it. I'm about to go for my morning walk right now.
I also take massive inspiration from other content creators and niches. I also gain creativity from my walks. An orange flower with a dark background grabbed my attention on a walk. That improved my thumbnails.
That's actually something a lot of people use on a regular basis. It causes what's called bipedal stimulation (stimulation on both sides of your body in a rhythm) and it helps the brain process things. I learned about this from helping people with anxiety disorders, doing this can (and often does) help them process what they're anxious about so they can get through it although it's generally done with patting or light touches as opposed to walking but same idea.
I started this video like Bet me! 1. I don’t go on walks - quiet time sounds like a vacation 2. I am terrible at learning language. Will have to think of something similar that is challenging 3. I have 3 kids. Air B&B would be epic 4. I watch other CZcams videos and streamers to try and learn to get better all the time. 5. Building some furniture today My pro tip is to keep notes. We all have great ideas. Those great ideas go away if you don’t write them down.
I think this is great. You really have to take a chance and try to make something work. It will means some things won't work, that some things will fail, but that's what needs to happen to do better things.
this video came at the right time in my life, I'm trying to make something out of myself and after a year of grinding I've found myself burnt out on life this could be pivot that helps me keep going
I gotta be honest these tips are the best I've ever heard before. I'm so ridiculously driven to become a content creator that nothing will stop me at this point. But these tips have really helped me understand that you need to think outside of the box. Build something, do something different . Go on a walk! Great advice! I can especially attest to items 4 and 5. Inspiration can come from many sources and getting yourself out of your comfort zone (by watching an entirely different genre of channel or tackling a project in a new medium) can give you a totally fresh perspective and generate new ideas. Thank you for this, Harris. everything you said really strikes at the heart, but in a good way. I want to be a content creator, but that fear of being rejected and/or the fruits of my hard work not being accepted really is a large obstacle in this kind of work. Also, at a point in time that the market might already be "too saturated", there is this hesitation of producing similar output, thinking that "they've already seen this somewhere else", or "this or that creator already did this". Though I already know that I should not allow this way of thinking to stop me, your words served as a strong reminder that everyone has to start somewhere, that there really is no shortcuts, and that as long as we stay true to our passion of crafting content, we will eventually be in a place far better than the one where we started.

Personally. I don’t ever think I could do content creation full time. I enjoy CZcams as an outlet to express my creativity. I am growing steadily playing a game a have a passion for and if someday I make some money off of it that would be great, just to counter my time spent. But I enjoy my regular Job as a Medic and would rather keep CZcams as an escape.

Fantastic points all around. I personally go for a drive to the coast and free up my thoughts. Definitely helps a ton. Getting out of your habit element is HUGE. Try something new, paint a picture, draw, something you are not used to. I should definitely be driving more... now that I think about it.
Man it was like listening to a conversation I had just over a month ago with my wife. I had tried streaming so many times but never really put the effort in. So I researched, watched loads of content, started walking twice a day, picked the bits I liked out of the content and put together my stream. I've always wanted to do content creation n i'll spend hundreds hours researching different ways to make good content and how to stay engaged but i'll never actually follow through with it. There was always this feeling stopping me from sitting down and streaming or making the content that i want to create and i've always chalked it up to being lazy or unmotivated but thanks to this video I realized it's just fear. I've never felt true worry or fear before so this is new to me, and honestly knowing that it's the one thing stopping me from really stepping forward and there is a way to get over it is super motivating. Been following the channel for more than a year now and its genuinely helped me make my career. I attribute a lot of my success to Gary Vee and well as yourself. Its not about hearing what to do, its about ACTUALLY DOING IT. So many people just won't. I also get questions asking me how to grow their stream and I always give one of two answers, I point them in your direction or i simply tell them to make valuable content that shares their personality. Harris gives AMAZING help for starting out. I admit I used a few of his ideas. But the issue I'm having now is I had a HUGE spurt of growth. I started ~2 months ago and I got to 450 Twitch followers and plateaued. So now I've gone off the deep end trying to get that number up, as well as Increasing average viewers. Like he said, there is no set path, there is no right and wrong. I started out in a Top Row game and grew FAST. That's not supposed to happen. But encountering an issue and pushing to fix it day after day helps build your confidence whenever you ACTUALLY start to see those numbers climb up again. One of my "things" is that I raid someone smaller than me every night. I raided someone the other night who had never been raided in TWO years of streaming and he cried. Pay it forward guys!
This whole video speaks to me! I use content creation as an escape from reality. I do a lot of what you do in my life to help me run my drywall business. I have failed so many countless times, whether it was losing a bid, completely effed up on a job and had to spend time fixing it, or under estimating materials. There’s always room to grow and learn. Content creation is what I use to trigger my creative side and turn my brain off from the wife, the kids, the house, the business. I stress to everyone to get a hobby outside of your comfort zone and what you rely on for income to separate yourself and use a different part of your brain. There’s no direct avenues in life, you just have to do what is best for you and yours. They say it takes upwards of 10,000 hours to be a professional in something, it doesn’t happen overnight! You have to grow it and cultivate whatever it is you’re trying to do!
I stopped using starting soon screens/videos on my streams after your video, and I actually like it. Somehow I can chat with a few people coming in early and the first attenders. I'm a small streamer on Twitch, and thought that a starting soon screen would help me get people in. And that those 3 minutes was crucial... but after having a cup of coffee, sharing on Instagram and just taking it easy, talking to people who are there early, I found out that I got a higher retention rate. People who said "hello" in my 3 min intro before, and probably left before the intro was done, now stay longer and talk. It feels really nice not having that long intro and loosing early viewers :)

Everything you said is absolutely right ! Everything I have learned made me wish I started youtube way earlier when I wanted to. What I have also learned that kept me from running out of ideas/creativity is ANYTIME I think of an idea no matter how dumb or simple it may be I always write them down (either in notes in my phone or on a journal). Looking at them on paper prevents you from forgetting but also helps you expand and tweak your ideas for better content in the future. Which then keeps you from creator content exhaustion
The moment that "clear path" is set, it's time to pivot to a new thing. Think about all the industries that have a "clear path." Social Media Marketing, Amazon FBA, etc... The moment a "Guru" comes up with a "buy my course" style product, its too saturated to grow. The wonderful thing, is this is not the case with streaming (yet). So while theres not a dedicated formula for success, you can become your own factor for success. Work for it, trial and error your way and keep your faith. Nothing that was worth doing, was ever easy. Thanks Harris, you inspire the hell out of me dude.

This is gold! I'm a photographer and after 15 years doing that I felt burned out. I decided to start working in waerhouse. I have to say - it was very refreshing for me - working there and taking pictures for clients was hard - damn - it was hard - but after 6 months I felt so much better, with so much ideas in my head. Sometimes having a boss (for sometime at least) and not being one, can help you a ton! It helped me. :)
First of all, Thanks to Harris and the team for all those years of Content helping us out. I created my Twitch account 2 years ago. I've been watching videos of (how to, coaching, setup, etc) for a year and a half, maybe more. But i was used to freak out by just thinking about starting my streams. I have note of tips to guide me and stuffs and i wasn't able to start. Yes i did start my streaming and yes i went to the trail and error situation. I was able to reach the Affiliate last Sunday, i have tiny community cheering me out. And my biggest regrets is... why i didn't do this way earlier!? I totally understand they you have to be willing to fail and expect it, With me i feel my biggest problem is talking to a camera, When I'm streaming its fine but as soon as i record something i feel like i have marbles in my mouth all the time. I find that it has gotten better over time but its a really weird feeling that i have never really gotten over. I agree with you when you say build something. I have made a couple of videos of myself blindly repairing and airsoft sniper and it turns out to be my most viewed video, I tried doing something with my hands again recently by making a video of customising a switch pro controller and i felt that its super satisfying when you have accomplished your goal.

I went on three walks yesterday. Walking just really helps let the brain decompress and sort of defragment. It really helps me redefine my intentions. I've had a channel for a few years and only now am I starting to realize that I need to make content I care about. I've posted mostly just edited gameplay because I enjoy the editing process. I like the passion you have and your dedication to this channel and brand. For me it's just difficult learning how to be myself and authentically so in front of a camera without feeling anxious and deciding to avoid making new videos.
This video came out at the perfect time for me, later today I am going to be streaming while I upgrade my PC with my phone. The language tip is going to be so overlooked, but its probably the biggest tip imo. Not only are you learning the language but you get involved into that culture thus bringing in more ideas. I'm definitely running with that one hardcore!
Solid advice. As an ex mixer partner who had 24k followers, I didn't know that it was a faux par to ask for tips and I am glad to know this now, even though it is after I tipped Devin and asked for advice the other day. I now understand the expression on his face a lot better. It is frightening to have your entire follow base taken out from under you by a massive corporation and I guess I was hoping for some insight, so that I could make an informed decision. I did not come wanting someone to save me, I do not want a boss, I especially don't want to be told what to do. I like learning from my mistakes, because that is one of the many aspects of life that makes it what it is. Devin provided a link to the document he was working on for all Mixer people and I was happy with that, I didn't donate much and wasn't expecting a sit down coaching session. I have since shared that document with other partners and streamers from Mixer to pay it forward. It is good to know that what I did was not really welcomed though, so I appreciate the lesson Harris, thank you.
I love this video, I feel that everyone just wants to skip the hard work and find the cheat to becoming big.They buy all the big products, follow all the stuff their favorite streamers do, etc. but we need to remember to enjoy the process of getting there. Failure is just a step in improvement and improvement should be the goal, not the outcome. People who get stuck on the outcome like “my viewer count only reached 2 today” etc will be dissatisfied and disheartened but it’s a grind and the grind is fun, if you see what you’re doing wrong by reviewing your vods, seeing what works and improving on that, looking at what doesn’t and putting it in the back burner. I remember streaming for 1 - 2 viewers for the longest time, now I have regular friends who come by and watch my stream, I just got into a org’s community team etc. I enjoyed seeing my stream get bigger and improve, I enjoyed every time i messed up and then learned from it. It may not have been fun the entire time, but if you’re goal is fun, then don’t try and make a career out of this cause anything that’s fun that turns into a career isn’t always gonna be fun anymore. Work is work, no matter the job.
After making 250+ videos I definitely don’t want a boss because I like trying different things and a boss would make me making content that gets views, rather then taking a risk
11:39 one thing i found really fun was trying out music for the first time, it was pretty bad but i still enjoyed making it. Another one is art, try a new art style your not used to, and who cares if its horrible, try to have fun with it. And for the travel thing, i usually have lots of ideas when im in a mundane environment, instead of focusing on the environment i can brainstorm stuff

"Go on a walk" is such a simple tip but is really so, so effective. I've been working from home, freelance editing and streaming the past few months and staying inside all day, every day, will literally make you go insane. My escape from redundancy has been going for a walk and even playing VR. Little escapes make all the difference in the world.

Adam the honest reply I’ll give you to why I thought that way is because when I first watched big streamers on twitch in my game category they all sucked. They weren’t funny although all the chat laughs, the content was repetitive and I couldn’t see anything special about their personality. I apologize to myself for thinking I’d attract more viewers and have a better personality even though I know I am much more entertaining than some of them

This might hurt someones "feelings" might even get hate, but if you're starting from zero and your sole intentions of becoming a "streamer" or "content creator" is to become "rich" or for the money only. Then you're not going to get too far. You're quickly going to get demoralized sooo fast. If you don't enjoy editing your own content/ videos. Interacting/ helping a community it's gonna feel like a chore and let's be honest, no one likes doing chores that they are forced to do. 3:40 Damn I felt that on another level...when I first started making content I never felt it was good enough, or that I was copying someone. Eventually I just stopped cause I would record TONS of footage, but never made them into videos, cause I was afraid to fail. I wouldn’t say I’ve succeeded, but I’ve learned a new skill if anything, and it’s fun, and awesome.
^ i cant explain how many times ive deleted footage that was probably ok but i always say 'nah its prolly shit' its taken me almost 2 years to realise that my problem was that i was scared to fail. i only truly realised this like 2 days ago and now my mind has shifted from "this isn't good enough, its trash and probably gonna fail" to "if it fails, it fails. im going to do my best and learn from what doesn't work and improve on it that's all I can do." and I feel thats what holds so many people back its definitely what held me back from actually now wanting to try and try over and over again.

My channel and life improved when I went for a walk first thing in the morning and in the afternoon. It is my version of driving to work. My phone goes into my backpack, and just listen to music. But the movement of my legs, the pain in my calves whne I push it, and my eyes focused on the sidewalk, has been meditation for me. I find it opens a door in my brain to my problems and allows me to find solutions.
Walking and/or meditation has changed my life. I schedule it, and I never miss it. I'm about to go for my morning walk right now.
I also take massive inspiration from other content creators and niches. I also gain creativity from my walks. An orange flower with a dark background grabbed my attention on a walk. That improved my thumbnails.

That's actually something a lot of people use on a regular basis. It causes what's called bipedal stimulation (stimulation on both sides of your body in a rhythm) and it helps the brain process things. I learned about this from helping people with anxiety disorders, doing this can (and often does) help them process what they're anxious about so they can get through it although it's generally done with patting or light touches as opposed to walking but same idea.

I think this is great. You really have to take a chance and try to make something work. It will means some things won't work, that some things will fail, but that's what needs to happen to do better things.

Great advice! I can especially attest to items 4 and 5. Inspiration can come from many sources and getting yourself out of your comfort zone (by watching an entirely different genre of channel or tackling a project in a new medium) can give you a totally fresh perspective and generate new ideas. Thank you for this, Harris. everything you said really strikes at the heart, but in a good way. I want to be a content creator, but that fear of being rejected and/or the fruits of my hard work not being accepted really is a large obstacle in this kind of work. Also, at a point in time that the market might already be "too saturated", there is this hesitation of producing similar output, thinking that "they've already seen this somewhere else", or "this or that creator already did this". Though I already know that I should not allow this way of thinking to stop me, your words served as a strong reminder that everyone has to start somewhere, that there really is no shortcuts, and that as long as we stay true to our passion of crafting content, we will eventually be in a place far better than the one where we started.

Personally. I don’t ever think I could do content creation full time. I enjoy CZcams as an outlet to express my creativity. I am growing steadily playing a game a have a passion for and if someday I make some money off of it that would be great, just to counter my time spent. But I enjoy my regular Job as a Medic and would rather keep CZcams as an escape.

Man it was like listening to a conversation I had just over a month ago with my wife. I had tried streaming so many times but never really put the effort in. I know when I first started that I wanted everything to be perfect, that I SHOULDN'T make ANY mistakes, otherwise no one will watch my streams. The thing is, as you've said, you have to be willing to fail. I have failed and I'm still failing A LOT as I don't have enough experience to declare myself a "Pro". But I'm enjoying every moment of it... By failing, I have the potential to grow, and this video is just the confirmation that I should move forward!

I've always wanted to do content creation n i'll spend hundreds hours researching different ways to make good content and how to stay engaged but i'll never actually follow through with it. There was always this feeling stopping me from sitting down and streaming or making the content that i want to create and i've always chalked it up to being lazy or unmotivated but thanks to this video I realized it's just fear. I've never felt true worry or fear before so this is new to me, and honestly knowing that it's the one thing stopping me from really stepping forward and there is a way to get over it is super motivating. I haven't felt this confident in my choice in making this my dream career ever before. I'm sure you get this a lot but truly, thank you.

Harris gives AMAZING help for starting out. I admit I used a few of his ideas. But the issue I'm having now is I had a HUGE spurt of growth. I started ~2 months ago and I got to 450 Twitch followers and plateaued. So now I've gone off the deep end trying to get that number up, as well as Increasing average viewers.
Like he said, there is no set path, there is no right and wrong. I started out in a Top Row game and grew FAST. That's not supposed to happen. But encountering an issue and pushing to fix it day after day helps build your confidence whenever you ACTUALLY start to see those numbers climb up again. One of my "things" is that I raid someone smaller than me every night. I raided someone the other night who had never been raided in TWO years of streaming and he cried. Pay it forward guys!
This whole video speaks to me! I use content creation as an escape from reality. I do a lot of what you do in my life to help me run my drywall business. I have failed so many countless times, whether it was losing a bid, completely effed up on a job and had to spend time fixing it, or under estimating materials. There’s always room to grow and learn. Content creation is what I use to trigger my creative side and turn my brain off from the wife, the kids, the house, the business. I stress to everyone to get a hobby outside of your comfort zone and what you rely on for income to separate yourself and use a different part of your brain. There’s no direct avenues in life, you just have to do what is best for you and yours. They say it takes upwards of 10,000 hours to be a professional in something, it doesn’t happen overnight! You have to grow it and cultivate whatever it is you’re trying to do!
I stopped using starting soon screens/videos on my streams after your video, and I actually like it. Somehow I can chat with a few people coming in early and the first attenders. I'm a small streamer on Twitch, and thought that a starting soon screen would help me get people in. And that those 3 minutes was crucial... but after having a cup of coffee, sharing on Instagram and just taking it easy, talking to people who are there early, I found out that I got a higher retention rate. People who said "hello" in my 3 min intro before, and probably left before the intro was done, now stay longer and talk. It feels really nice not having that long intro and loosing early viewers :)
I started following you because I want to get into content creation and I genuinely appreciate your honesty even on the hard to accept parts of content creation, the more challenging parts that many people don't want to look at.

Everything you said is absolutely right ! Everything I have learned made me wish I started youtube way earlier when I wanted to. What I have also learned that kept me from running out of ideas/creativity is ANYTIME I think of an idea no matter how dumb or simple it may be I always write them down (either in notes in my phone or on a journal). Looking at them on paper prevents you from forgetting but also helps you expand and tweak your ideas for better content in the future. Which then keeps you from creator content exhaustion

The moment that "clear path" is set, it's time to pivot to a new thing. Think about all the industries that have a "clear path." Social Media Marketing, Amazon FBA, etc... The moment a "Guru" comes up with a "buy my course" style product, its too saturated to grow.
The wonderful thing, is this is not the case with streaming (yet). So while theres not a dedicated formula for success, you can become your own factor for success. Work for it, trial and error your way and keep your faith. Nothing that was worth doing, was ever easy. Thanks Harris, you inspire the hell out of me dude.
What I absolutely love about this video is that it focusses on your mind, your way of thinking instead of the standard "oh yeh go make better content" type of videos. It's a video that actually helps your mindset, not only for content creating but for everything that your trying to accomplish.

This is gold! I'm a photographer and after 15 years doing that I felt burned out. I decided to start working in waerhouse. I have to say - it was very refreshing for me - working there and taking pictures for clients was hard - damn - it was hard - but after 6 months I felt so much better, with so much ideas in my head. Sometimes having a boss (for sometime at least) and not being one, can help you a ton! It helped me. :)
First of all, Thanks to Harris and the team for all those years of Content helping us out. I created my Twitch account 2 years ago. I've been watching videos of (how to, coaching, setup, etc) for a year and a half, maybe more. But i was used to freak out by just thinking about starting my streams. I have note of tips to guide me and stuffs and i wasn't able to start. Yes i did start my streaming and yes i went to the trail and error situation. I was able to reach the Affiliate last Sunday, i have tiny community cheering me out. And my biggest regrets is... why i didn't do this way earlier!?
My little journey just have begun, but im enjoying it every second i can.

I totally understand they you have to be willing to fail and expect it, With me i feel my biggest problem is talking to a camera, When I'm streaming its fine but as soon as i record something i feel like i have marbles in my mouth all the time. I find that it has gotten better over time but its a really weird feeling that i have never really gotten over. I agree with you when you say build something. I have made a couple of videos of myself blindly repairing and airsoft sniper and it turns out to be my most viewed video, I tried doing something with my hands again recently by making a video of customising a switch pro controller and i felt that its super satisfying when you have accomplished your goal.

I went on three walks yesterday. Walking just really helps let the brain decompress and sort of defragment. It really helps me redefine my intentions. I've had a channel for a few years and only now am I starting to realize that I need to make content I care about. I've posted mostly just edited gameplay because I enjoy the editing process. I like the passion you have and your dedication to this channel and brand. For me it's just difficult learning how to be myself and authentically so in front of a camera without feeling anxious and deciding to avoid making new videos.
This video came out at the perfect time for me, later today I am going to be streaming while I upgrade my PC with my phone. It's going to be the first time I've streamed something other than a video game and although I am excited, I'm also nervous. What you said about failing is definitely going to help me so thank you.

The language tip is going to be so overlooked, but its probably the biggest tip imo. Not only are you learning the language but you get involved into that culture thus bringing in more ideas. I'm definitely running with that one hardcore!

As an ex mixer partner who had 24k followers, I didn't know that it was a faux par to ask for tips and I am glad to know this now, even though it is after I tipped Devin and asked for advice the other day.
I now understand the expression on his face a lot better.
It is frightening to have your entire follow base taken out from under you by a massive corporation and I guess I was hoping for some insight, so that I could make an informed decision.
I did not come wanting someone to save me, I do not want a boss, I especially don't want to be told what to do.
I like learning from my mistakes, because that is one of the many aspects of life that makes it what it is.
Devin provided a link to the document he was working on for all Mixer people and I was happy with that, I didn't donate much and wasn't expecting a sit down coaching session.
I have since shared that document with other partners and streamers from Mixer to pay it forward.
It is good to know that what I did was not really welcomed though, so I appreciate the lesson Harris, thank you.
I love this video, I feel that everyone just wants to skip the hard work and find the cheat to becoming big.They buy all the big products, follow all the stuff their favorite streamers do, etc. but we need to remember to enjoy the process of getting there. Failure is just a step in improvement and improvement should be the goal, not the outcome. People who get stuck on the outcome like “my viewer count only reached 2 today” etc will be dissatisfied and disheartened but it’s a grind and the grind is fun, if you see what you’re doing wrong by reviewing your vods, seeing what works and improving on that, looking at what doesn’t and putting it in the back burner. I remember streaming for 1 - 2 viewers for the longest time, now I have regular friends who come by and watch my stream, I just got into a org’s community team etc. I enjoyed seeing my stream get bigger and improve, I enjoyed every time i messed up and then learned from it. It may not have been fun the entire time, but if you’re goal is fun, then don’t try and make a career out of this cause anything that’s fun that turns into a career isn’t always gonna be fun anymore. Work is work, no matter the job.
After making 250+ videos I definitely don’t want a boss because I like trying different things and a boss would make me making content that gets views, rather then taking a risk
11:39 one thing i found really fun was trying out music for the first time, it was pretty bad but i still enjoyed making it. Another one is art, try a new art style your not used to, and who cares if its horrible, try to have fun with it.
And for the travel thing, i usually have lots of ideas when im in a mundane environment, instead of focusing on the environment i can brainstorm stuff

most of the vids i watch i skim thru them and skip a couple seconds everyt now and then, but with all your vids ive never been able to, theyre always so informative if anything i find myself replaying them instead of skipping through them lol
