I had the privilege of doing drums for the entire album up at Taylor Larson's studio in January of 2016. We are all very excited to bring this album to your ears. Yes, I recorded the album with a splash cymbal, but didn't have one on my kit for the playthrough.

The thing with Jason is that even though he's an incredible shredder when needed, his songs are so musical as well. The drumming of Luke is incredible as well.

I discovered Jason from a band called polyphia me the song title was Aviator and I have been hooked on him ever since. He is so great at his craft. Very technical! I freaking love it 🍻

Written beautifully with dynamic fills here and there. An absolute masterpiece. Can't wait to hear the rest of his album.
I really love seeing new wave of prog and metal drummers owning simple drum sets. No need for oversized sets with three bass drums, fifteen toms and twenty cymbals to make sick advanced and tasty grooves. Good job both of you guys!

To be fair, Luke also had a broken left foot during the recording of Dark Matter, so double bass was pretty limited.
It reminds me of a mixture of Dark matter and Ashes to Ashes by Chelsea Grin

I was thinking the same thing. After Jason left, BOO couldnt match what they did on the discovery, and it's super apparent why. This song just solidifies that Jason wrote so much of that record. Dude is a beast.

I think Luke might be one of the drummers I admire out of these young bands. You might not like his band or him, but you have got to respect how he's so versatile and enjoys trying new horizons, different styles, doing collab with people. That is something I rarely see in this genre. Also loved the video and song, excited to see what the full project will sound like!

I hear a strong Dream Theater influence, especially in that synth like tapping part. I really like how the electronic elements fit in there. Very tasteful. Overall i would say that tasteful or balanced describes it pretty good. Usually on records like this, there is IMHO too much shredding going on. Not here. And the solo is absolutely mind blowing. I don't know what else to say. Great work both of you. I am really excited for this release!

This song is so good. I feel like Jason has gotten so much better at writing actual music. Don't get me wrong...I've always loved him as a guitar player. He's he made every bands he's been in better. But his solo work before (thought) wasn't really written out so well, it was kinda just drawn out and overly shreddy. But this is fucking awesome. I've been listening to it so much. I've been so hyped since he announced a solo album. It's just so well written and creative. I give it a 10/10, I bet the rest of the album will be even better.

I absolutely love instrumentals like this that really dig deep. I know everyone has their preference but you can't really appreciate ANYTHING unless you go into it with an open mind. Whether the last band did something similar or not. This is the kind of shit that takes me to another realm. It's so drama. It tells an epic and climactic story. How music should be. The solos have so much attitude in them. The drums have so much clarity it really punches you when the story progresses. I am on the constant search for music such as this. Bravo guys. BTW +LukeHollandDrums You have improved insanely over the years. Good job man. I'm a drummer myself and wish I had the time to really lay into them again. +Jason Richardson Always a perfectionist.
