@@TheAstroflight he was head writer for 7 years, he wrote all the iconic Tina Fey/Sarah Palin sketches among others. Don't mistake his self-deprecation for lack of talent.

To be honest, I'm glad he left SNL. I think his show is the best thing going on TV these days.But he should be a go to host once every year or so.
Yeah, dividing the country even more than our President by joining the fanatically frantic "Trump must be stopped" media pile-on gets boring when its confined to one studio for too long.

After watching that skit I'm kind of worried for Kanye. He was weird and reckless, but looking at him now and then I feel like he's kind of lost it.
Would love to see Kanye get behind the controls of Air Force One with Trump in it... He be like "Hold on Trumpie daddy... We gonna go flying like supaman!!! Because this red hat is powerful, and it's also the same color as the socialist hats in Venezuela!!! Shhheeeeeeoooowwwwwww!!!" Then they all crash into a mountain and then we can all move on.

And to measure how full of it they are, anyone can go on Hulu and watch any episode from seasons 35 through 39 and see them make fun of Obama (especially Seth on weekend update) on any given episode. (I haven't seen the seasons from his early 1st term, so starting toward the end of the 1st, running against Romney)
They joked about him..
Being weak on Russia and letting Merkel do all the standing up to Putin.
Obama Care' s disastrous roll out and website problems.
Getting overly cocky for killing Bin Laden.
Secretly smoking.
Letting Republicans walk all over him and having Stockholm Syndrome after the govt shutdown, acting like he was a Republican.
etc, etc, etc.. I'm sure I'll remember more later. They only stopped at the end when tRump started running, and they made a lot of fun of Hillary (and Bernie with Larry David)* and even had tRump host that season despite protests outside. (Worst host and worst show ever).
So, did SNL really change, or did people get super culty and tribal since Trump? (Yes the cast has been stronger)

up until recently, I never knew that weekend update was done on the main stage. it makes sense though.... it's often the highlight sketch of the evening, you'd want it to happen center stage.
seth is among the legend of weekend update too.... along with chevy chase, jane curtain, kevin nealon, amy poeler... absolutely SNL royalty.
It's amazing how when Seth first got LN his standing monologues left much to be desired. Then he sat behind a desk again and improved and somehow he's transferred all that charisma into.. a standing monologue. We've come full circle 😂

@@nspector oh yeah I believe it's probably very stressful I mean it's all live and they pretty much nail it Everytime but there times that you can see a slip up but not much I guess it's like high stakes higher rewards
Oh, I think the performing part is mostly a huge rush. I was really talking about what I've read about the week leading up to the show we see on tv. It's CRAZY -- the endless hours, the intense competition to get your sketch picked, the last minute cuts that Lorne Michaels makes after the dress rehearsal. I mean, it's a dream come true for most of the actors/writers. But a lot of it is also incredibly stressful.
