The TV Rain situation is very complicated. What started this latest crisis was a presenter who stated that he was involved in obtaining winter gear and food for the most recently mobilized Russian soldiers. For Russians, including the ethnic minority in the Baltic states, the concern for soldiers, many of which were forcefully mobilized, was "there are our hapless relations stuck in freezing mud due to Putin" but for Ukrainians it was, well hell, why did they not join the 100s of thousands of others who fled to Georgia, or are hiding in the woods - for God's sake, if they don't stay stuck in the mud, they will be trying to SHOOT US!!! The problem with many Russians in exile is a failure to realize how much anti-Ukrainian sentiment is built into their own world view - with deep roots, e.g., the largely falsified history of Russia - seriously, Catherine the Great virtually created modern state propaganda when she demanded her historians to "revise" the history of Rus to elevate Muscovy by hook or crook, who destroyed the Ukrainian Hetmanate (self rule in South-Eastern Ukraine) to create "Novorossiya" - New Russia. Russians have never had to stare honestly into the past, from Ivan the Terrible to the Holodomor. That is why Russia must lose - unless, as painful and ugly as it must be, Russians are willing to confess to centuries of imperial delusion and terror, they will remain incapable of participating fully and honestly in a liberal democratic world . . ..

Thank you for giving further information. I agree Russian's and to an extent still, even now Ukraine's allies, don't understand how wary everyone who borders Russia is of Russia. As you say much anti russian sentiment exists in those countries, and will now for decades if not generations in Ukraine. Understanding has improved since the start of this, but still, I see comments that are surprised when they realise how much many eastern European countries either hate or look at Russia like a monster. A monster that has caused trouble, invaded and interfered in their countries for many generations. Yevgeny Prigozhin even boasted about messing around with the US elections now, if you believe a word he says.
In addition, when I see the red cross or amnesty international offering aid to the mobilized Russians so they can go and kill Ukranian's more easily, it has opened my eyes to how out of touch some of these organizations are and really changed my opinion of them. Its the same sort of disconnect, and I understand it's the distance that creates it. It's hard to know what everyone is thinking across the world until you see it.
Russia, China and Bricks need to be stopped, else we'll see a lot more war, suffering, and repression in the decades to come as these Authoritarian powers try to take over the world. I hope this is largely done peacefully but we have to see the war through now its come.

TV Rain should continue so long as it follows the guidelines of the country it broadcasts in. EU policies, NATO activities, and country restrictions need to be followed. If they want to say something but know that they can't, they should take one of two options.
1- Refrain from broadcasting those items
2- Say what they want and prepare to leave from that country
They must remember that a state of war is ongoing, and the EU, NATO, and individual countries are enmeshed in it. Being able to broadcast from another country is a gift, not a right.
TV Rain should engage with other potential host countries, recalibrate their threshold of allowable discourse, and get back on the air. The attack was carried out. with drones right after Ukraine announced last week that they have built drones that could fly to the distance up to 1000 km, which seems impossible specially, in the war time to build a drone from scratch, but the drones look exactly like the Israeli harop drones, which coincidentally, have 1000 km range, it seems that the new government in Israel has supplied Ukraine with these drones. According to Russian news all the drones were shut down, but the damages happened because of falling debris which caused a fuel truck to explode. three Russian troops were killed, and some suffered burns while trying to put up the flames the main Russian bombers, the White Swan, and the turboprop bombers were damage also because of the falling debris.

Other nations across the world see us in a bad light too. Maybe not as bad as Russia, but truth is, other western nations including France and Germany at the time called out the invasion of Iraq as illegal. the UK and USA went into Iraq with no plan for what came after, which resulted in ISIS running riot in the middle east, with the fall out still happening to this day! So always remember how we see Russia, other nations see us in that vein! making up claims of WMDs to invade, remove and install a pro friendly Government. And while politicians in the UK and America who call for Putin (and rightly) to face criminal charges they are the same people that supported and still do BUSH and Blair- more than 1 truth can true at the same time... While we may feel for the soldiers, every hardship they face will weaken their military and inspire a mutiny. No independent tv station should allow that kind of reporting. They have freedom in another Country and anything that smells of help for Russians is just wrong when Ukrainians are dying and suffering in the cold and dark.
