I just ordered an S2 594 Singlecut from Peach a few days ago. It's currently still in shipping transit. Now meanwhile I'm spending another sunday evening watching what the allmighty algorithm serves up, checking out this interview conversation among other stuff. And at some point John reaches behind and pulls up this astonishing guitar. Next second I think, wait a moment, this one looks familiar... I checked and that's the actual guitar that's on its way to me now, looks even more lovely in motion. Looking forward to a happy NGD!
Literally have no more admiration for anybody more than I do for Paul Reed Smith. The man is so brilliant, lovely and a joy to listen to and learn from. One of the best experiences of my life meeting him. Adore everything he does. Great person and one of the privileges of my life to have gotten to shake his hand and say toankyou
PRS guitars when I first saw them and the people who played them I was like nah not interested. Then I brought and SE just on a whim it changed my mind very quickly. It’s the attention to detail and when you get an S2 you realise they’re working to a recipe with lots of tricks to make the guitar sound good, play good and feel good. The reputation is well deserved.
This has been excellent, and so refreshing to not hear the same old questions that Paul gets from everyone else.

Here ? I rediscovered my passion for guitars 2 weeks before the NZ lockdown and had two awesome Solar S1.6 guitars and then like everyone I bought 3 more whilst locked down as the necks for me at least are perfect. And then i got a gold Ibanez Pia too.
Fave is tho myS1.6 FR QOB (quilted ocean blue).
Been playing for 40 odd years and these Solars and my indonesian made PRS Tremonti SE standard single cut guitars are just stellar.

This guy is a madman! I nearly returned my S2 Cus 24 because it had almost no figuring, i should have never touched it lol, i played it for 2 mins and knew i would never sell it lol, love at first strum! That guitar also has the best finish i have ever touched, not sticky or plastic feeling like Poly or Nitro more like a coating of crystal or something, its hard to explain but there is something different about it!

why'd they switch to Cor-Tek from WMIC?
If the S2 had current 58/15 US pickups I'd buy it in a quarter second. I actually like the semi-flat top better as a player. Currently, I'm saving up for something better.
I met Paul 25 years ago at a clinic at Guitar Center in Atlanta. His band played, and he had a Dragon guitar with him. I was only 19 at the time and so incredibly impressed. It was like meeting the Steve Jobs of guitar building--he was cool, brilliant, innovative, etc. I owe him an apology, though. I asked him to sign my guitar, which at the time was a strat. I told him I couldn't afford a PRS yet, but I wanted one real bad. My request rubbed him the wrong way, and we parted somewhat awkwardly (no harsh words or anything). 45 year old me gets it, though. 19 year old me did not. Anyway, Paul, if you're out there in CZcams land somewhere....I apologize on behalf of 19 year old me. That was kind of a dick move on my part. If we ever meet again, maybe you can sign my 594. I can afford your stuff now 🤣
