Mitsubishi makes the starters for your year model accord. And unfortunately they aren't very good. I've had my 2017 sport for 2 years. I haven't had any problems out of the starter. 3 to 4 times a day, 6 days a week I crank my car up. The good thing is, it's easy to change out on my car. And I'm pretty sure it is on yoursite too. I'm just hoping honda fixed the issue with the starter on my year model. Just to note, I also noticed all of the people I have seen with the ninth gen accord and have stater promblems all have the push button start. Mine is a key. So maybe that's got something to do with it.
Even when you replace the starter the car will run fine for 20k miles then the issue will return THIS IS THE ONLY ISSUE I HAVE HAD WITH MY 14 EXL 2.4L shit is the dumbest problem ever no warning nothing Bam your stuck like me right now at 5am smh
What did you do to fix yours? I have the same issue right now, changed my starter few days. I drive 10-20 miles, stop and car won't start. Help please!
E. D. Amali two starters first from napa lasted almost a year second one the mechanics shop got and said the napa was reconditioned they never told me but i just eventually sold my car smh
What you said here is happening to me right now. I have to see 8 patients at work this morning and this shit won't start! Although, I changed the starter summer 3 years ago. I jumped inside the car this morning, press the button and here we go, car won't start, no warning or whatsoever, caught me good by surprise.
I am having the same issue an apparently the ignition switches are faulty with over 700 complaints.. Mine has been doing this for four months now I looked it up on NAS website national automobile safety and they said most people mistake it for the starter and ignition is way cheaper to fix thank you lord..
Ignition switches are faulty..ive heard and sometimes its not the starter like this guys. Try putting shifter to N to see if it could be neutral safety switch. Hope this helps someone.
So I had the same issue I separated my key fob from my other keys and I have not had any issues car starts just fine but I can not have any other keys on or near the key fob I was just about to have my starter replaced when the problem fixed its self just by keeping my keys separated I swear this worked at least for me....
I took my car into the dealership and they told me I had a bad starter also but I could not see paying 800 bucks just to have my starter replaced so I was going to do it myself but like I said after separating my keys and problem fixing its self I'm glad I didnt waste my money
Katelin Ryan did you try it? Im having a similar issue where my car just clicks a few times and doesn’t start. But it will eventually start after a fee tries. Is this the same problem your having?
@@navjotkaloya562 I’m having that same problem. Seems like every week I have to deal with it 2-3 times that it won’t start right away. After 30 seconds it usually starts fine. I’m trying to figure it out, I already got my alternator changed, and that wasn’t the problem

this is the exact same car that is in a different video and that guy fixed something else. Same problem. Different fix. So which one is the correct fix?
Yeah I'm in the same boat tried getting the starter out and I cannot get the dumb thing back in, wires in the way, no space to get on there good, this is the most frustrating fix I've ever delt with. And on top of that the starter tested good so it wasn't even that either about to pull my hair out
@@JbVest try isolating the key fob. If you have other keys or fobs attached to it, it may cause Interference with the signal and not start the car. I had the same problem with a Hyundai Santa Fe and that fixed the problem.
@@peterl6095 took it to dealership replaced the relay. Still doing it on hot starts. Cold starts it fires up like a champ. Something definitely with temperature

Same thing happening to me. This is genuinely entirely unacceptable. How can this be okay to sell?

Same issue with my 2014 Accord Sport...it was a bad starter. $750 plus labor.
I'm getting mines changed Friday. Those starters aren't cheap, hopefully the replacement lasts a few years..
yeeeesh i paid 370 with labor.. you got got homie
Yeah you think its the starter but it's not. Give it time...it will fail again
Currently doing one for someone and got one off rock auto for 230ish. One for my full-size pickup is half the price for an oem… just crazy

Freddy Prieto hey its the starter! Get that changed. Thats the first thing I changed now it works like its brand new. Starts up first time every time

you got one more time to say um uh
I bought a new alternator. Wasn’t e problem. Took it back got a starter. Installed it. Not the problem. I’m at a loss and getting mad.
Check the ground wires.

@@fq3649 here's an update It actually ended up being the starter itself. After replacing that haven't had an issue since and it's been a year
Dude this video sucks this was stressing me out the whole time
I already replaced the starter at 20k would it be the starter again I'm at 50K
It's possible. Not likely but possible.

Check your fuses and relays. Could be your fuel pump or something related to the fuel system.

Try putting a heat shield around the starter.
This was irritating to listen to just kept stuttering and not getting to the point like
Video wasn't helpful at all
