All New #AstonMartin #Vantage - still a RWD V8 Coupe, but now at a staggering 665PS and 800NM!
Today’s car showcases the new wide body half stolen from V12 Vantage, finished in Cosmopolitan yellow. 30MM Wider to be precise, with an almost 40% bigger front grille, and gone are the MX-5 lights, replaced with a set much more in keeping with Astons of recent history.
Aston call it: “The definitive front-engined rear wheel drive sports car”
But they go further: “And a car that champions qualities difficult to find in today’s sports car market, making a stand for disenfranchised petrolheads.” - Fighting words by Aston! Aimed squarely at the car market as a whole, main rival Porsche, and AMG who have abandoned this pure format in their new GT!
And it’s hard to argue with them, this new #AstonMartinVantage is the perfect personification of the brand, a classy no apologies emotional sports car. Just like the New DB12, which is a no apologies Super GT.
In terms of changed, we have a heavily updated 4.0 twin turbo engine. Still using the AMG sourced lump, which is an amazing place to start - but Aston’s version of the engine is on another level.
It now gives us 665PS, or BHP, and 800NM, and a 0-60 of 3.4 seconds! That’s a MASSIVE 150PS uptick, and 15% more torque! How? We have larger turbos, modified cam profiles, optimised compression ratios, and increased cooling. Making it powerful, and an engine with a sharper, more visceral and more vocal character.
ZF 8 Speed is still the gearbox, but now with shorter final drive ratio for quicker in gear acceleration, and shifts have been upgraded to be quicker depending on mode. New Launch Control System on offer too - to limit wheel slip throughout the launch, by using the ESP, E-diff etc. Drivers can decide the amount of slip they want in the launch too via the 10-stage traction control switch!
The chassis is key though - tuned for driver engagement, still with the perfect 50/50 weight distribution.
Biggest news are the all new Bilstein DTX adaptive dampers - 500% increase in bandwidth vs previous hardware, set to make the car more dynamic and more comfortable. The new Electronic rear diff (E-Diff) can go from zero to full lock in 135 milli seconds, and reacts as quick as 60 ms! Finally, AML specific Michelin Pilot S 5 tyres top it all off!
But the cherry on top? The new interior - a HUGE upgrade just like the new DB12. All new non-mercedes infotainment system built around buttons rather than screens. It’s more sporty than the DB12, with the buckets from the V12 car, and more carbon.

Agreed!!! I really wish theyd also offer a detuned PUREST MANUAL SHIFTING VERSION too for Real Drivers like Porsche did a couple years back… I have no doubt they’d have any problem selling a small version of them at a premium…💯‼️
Finally the interior of the Aston Martin should have always had
They did prior to joining AMG. Seems everything was toned down, including the horsepower, as to not step on the toes of the AMG GT. They even sound like them, which is okay, but Aston used to have a very distinctive exhaust note. I have driven the V8's and V12's. Nothing like them.
So Happy they changed the interior , now the car is 9/10 ! 10/10 with a manual.
Autos are far more faster at changing gear. I’ll keep my auto thanks

@@javiermartin4857yeh, but manuals work well with lower horsepower cars. With 665hp and rwd, a manual in this wouldn’t be as enjoyable as manual Porsche Carrera or S2000. At this power level it needs an auto
then a BMW M4 with 500 hp is a blistering car to have a Manual Transmission
@@baoquoc3710 I love BMWs , I am big beemr fan but the M4 is an Inline 6 and sounds bad .. This is a V8 , V8 is always superior + this could even get a V12 🐭
The vantage is now perfectly perfect.
I like the car very much, because it’s what a car should be. No stupid Tv size screens in the front or boring 4 cylinder hybrid engines with so much power that they will blow up after 100.000 km. Also very nice that they still use buttons, which feel in my opinion, more premium and are nicer to use than touchscreens. Oh, and I almost forgot it’s beautiful.

Sick yellow color, gorgeous! Viewed from the front, the headlights kind of remind me those of the AMG GT. Never underestimate my ‘’Montreal native’’ neighbor Lawrence Stroll, he’s turned every business he’s handled into highly successful endeavors. More great things to come from AM!
I said it for years ! If the Aston Martin changed the front end to the circle lights of the d12 and kept the rear it would be the sexiest car ever ! Definitely need to get me one of these

The last vantage was one of my fav cars I ever owned and actually a very solid canyon runner that could keep up with porsche gt products. It ran the same time around the GT test track as a 991.2 gt3 rs! glad they updated the interior and pumped in some more hp... I'd take this car over any of its competitors and probably most of the cars one level above it like the 296.
Guy deserves to get past that 400k sub mark for sure. 👍 almost there…

do the frameless door mirrors imply that the mirror head turns itself as a unit when you adjust the mirrors? it would bother me so much to have asymmetrical door mirrors

That’s incredible. I liked the old vantage but felt the headlights were a bit naff and also the interior was a bit dated. This is simply beautiful, what a tremendous job they’ve done on this.

the only thing keeping me from considering an Aston Martin prior to this was the interior, the gear selector, the media system etc, but with this revamp & the new exterior? I need a vantage & the new dbs. sad they aren't considering a sedan anymore still

Love the new interior console. I just bought a brand new Jaguar F-Type so I am going to have to wait before I can move up to this new Vantage but at least I know my next car.
What is interesting is the ground clearance, maybe it's due to safety, to me it looks quite high for a coupe.
Just watched Mr JWW’s video which was great but had to come and watch this aswell. Love this car, it’s genuinely beautiful. The power upgrade and modern interior just gives it 10/10 for me. 👌🏼
In my opinion this is the best facelift / model upgrade since a lot of years. Aston obviously listens to people - front looked like a mazda and interior was outdated so what they did? They changed both. It was compared to amg gts and even some videos showed it was bit slower than it, so what they did? It completely outpowers it now. Also no stupid hybrid systems and weight is low for today standards. Amazing job! My dream car at the moment.

Vantage is better because of the scarcity of Aston Martins compared to Mercedes Benzes. Also, nicer interior.
