    The mid variant at 1.3m pesos I think thats the best value for what you are getting. The rainbow shots looks amazing btw

      I'm inclined to agree, although you do lose a couple of stuff like the 360 cam, 6 speakers, leather seats, fog lamps and automatic headlamps, the VL variant might still be a good buy for some people!

    I like your way of reviewing. You show both positives and negatives about the car for a balanced review. Also, I get bits and pieces of additional info and insight that I don't get from other video reviews. This is compared to the other, bigger automotive channel which I am also a fan of, but I think he is very safe and careful with his reviews.
    Anyway, keep it up and more power to this channel! I've just subbed.

      I agree with you. The other channel is very careful and leaves out the other details that are not favorable for the car.

      @@RealRoyRobles if one prefers the rims as it is, would a plus zero upsize of the tires to something like a Dunlop LM705 help in the ride quality?

    I have a Kicks (in Thailand), and I changed the tires after getting a flat. The ride is much smoother now!

  • @MrKockabilly

    Would have been nice if Nissan provided a way for charging the battery from household electricity. I'm not talking about the powerful hi-amp fast chargers like those in pure EVs but just to provide a simple charger that could help raise at least a bar, esp if the car would not be used for several hours while parked at home. Grid electricity is still cheaper than gasoline.

    Is the aircon depends on the gas engine? If you are stuck in heavy traffic does the air conditioner runs cool even if the gas engine is not running? Will the air conditioner cools even in electric mode?

    • @mototelic
      @mototelic Před rokem +1

      I know what you mean, you're asking if the AC get's weaker and warmer on electric mode and I'm happy to say that the answer is no. The compressor of the AC seems to rely on the electric motor and not from the internal combustion engine. It still gives you Nissan's classic cool AC :-)

  • @kenv2667
    @kenv2667 Před rokem

    thanks for that great review.
    Do you recommend this as a first car? My reason to have a car is I'm soon to be married, and the main purpose would be during holidays, event, and weekend, instead of having to commute. So not so much of an everyday drive. and we live within the metro. Having zero experience in cars, the negatives you mention might not bother me, I guess.

    • @ZigWheelsPhilippines
      @ZigWheelsPhilippines  Před rokem

      It's pricier than the usual first car options, but going future-proof in a hybrid isn't a bad idea.
      On the other hand, a hybrid's gas savings are more easily recouped (over years) with daily use which is not your purpose-maybe the most important factor for a weekend car would be the size and if the Kicks is big enough to accommodate your future family then!

  • @leokatigbak6102
    @leokatigbak6102 Před rokem +1

    No sir, @2::50, the gas engine doesnt charge the electric motor, it charges the battery, which in turn powers the 😮😮electric motor that drive the wheels.

    • @ZigWheelsPhilippines
      @ZigWheelsPhilippines  Před rokem

      You're right! The engine charges the battery that runs the electric motor :-) -Roy

  • @abetguerzon1939
    @abetguerzon1939 Před rokem +1

    sir if in case the motor gen wouldnt function.. then what will be an option to make the car runs? unlike with the corolla cross.. it can switch from gas to battery. meaning if the battery gets drained then the gas automatically shifts in.

    • @ZigWheelsPhilippines
      @ZigWheelsPhilippines  Před rokem

      This is a great question! The Nissan Kicks runs on purely electric power. The internal combustion engine has nothing to do with propelling the car forward except to charge the electric motor, unlike other hybrids where the gas engine works with the electric motor.
      Think of it like a gasoline generator inside an EV, so you don't have to recharge or plug it in. In the off chance that the gasoline engine dies or the electric motor goes kaput, the Kicks won't run. Thankfully, that's what warranties, PMS and maintenance is for in a brand new car :-)

      thanks for the info sir, I just hope that Nissan has an answer for my concern.. We cant avoid untoward incident specially when where out the streets.. but the idea of this series hybrid is something to look out too.. Im waiting for the epower xtrail to come.

    • @valalpasan4155
      @valalpasan4155 Před 11 měsíci

      You don't need a manual for this since there is no transmission. The torque is pretty much instantaneous from the get go that putting it in sports mode transforms it into a little pocket rocket.

    pretty much a generator powering up an electric motor. I thought it would be very inefficient but its actually very good!

    • @mototelic
      @mototelic Před rokem

      I was surprised myself at how it just works! Definitely a winner for Nissan

    • @MrKockabilly
      @MrKockabilly Před rokem

      Yeah you're right. The setup itself is inefficient. Imagine the losses of the engine AND any losses in the electric motor adding up. But the regenerative braking really make up for many of the losses. That's why I think this would really be comparatively very efficient in urban stop-and-go situations where you could take back many losses through several slowdowns.

  • @NordinPumbaya
    @NordinPumbaya Před rokem

    What is the capacity of the battery? You don't charge the electric motor, only the battery. If the gas motor runs on every drive then the battery must be very small... Why drag our feet in adopting full EV?
