I'm getting ready to continue this series! You'll be glad to know I've made zero progress since this video so you haven't missed anything. ;)
@@PithyBikes Your good lady wife has the patience of a saint. ;-)

You have to come back the world needs u . With great powers , great responsibility also comes . According to spider man's uncle .
Was recommended this channel by a commenter on one of RJ the Bike Guy's vids and _boy_ was I not disappointed! Instant subscribe!
Lots I _could_ say but to sum it all up - you're living the dream, man! Hope all's well with you - all the best from Manchester, the UK :-)
Been in the fabrication field for ~3 years now, and have wanted to get into bike fabrication for some time now. Started doing a bunch of research and came across your channel. Love the vids, super informative and relaxing. Just ordered a headtube and bb shell to start my first frame thanks to you!
TheBASSdGod great! Let me know if you have any questions. Contact on pithybikes.com
Great video, as always. Hope the move goes well, and I'm looking forward to the next installment 👍
Such a perfectionist and tidy guy. Love your work.
Your videos are some of the them I really looking forward to watch. Nice pictures and great voice over. Have a nice move.
Your are really very talented. A true inspiration. Thanks for the video.
Steve, we're willing to wait. Get your home stuff in order. Comeback when you get things squared away. Family and real life come first. But, we do want to see how the bike gets finished. VERY cool stuff.
Thanks for supplying this great content!
can't wait to see this thing built up! oh and the next video. guess we'll have to wait!
Great job, dedicated & well explained thanks to share, joe.
Wow, your craftsmanship is awesome. I enjoy the explanations and that u dont try hide little errors but show them
flyboysnugs yes I like to show errors for others to learn from. Also viewers have good insight and tell me how to avoid mistakes.
Awsome video!
Through your videos I started thinking about frame welding. :D
Such a great work!!! I really would love to see your actual weld torch in detail once you weld, there would be even more to learn from ! 😉
wow! i never thought making bike frame need so much precision. very cool bro
That's what we do here, we weld stuff........brilliant
It’s starting to look like a bicycle. Nice work.
This is a wonderful scene and a well-explained way of minitown bike. Wonderful job.
loved your work, man
Rather missing your stuff - hope we get more!
Missing your lovely makes. Anything round the corner, or do we give up hope for now? Hope all is well with you and yours.
Same! This is one of the most underrated channels in my opinion 😔
Very nice welds
Well, this is a bike!
You have done a great job already, thanks for sharing.
And I assume your new home has a very large garage...😉
I look forward to every episode!)
Like 👍
I'm always in aw when watching your videos man, how are you so skilled!?
Where'd you get to, Steve? I miss your vids!
Even better if you start a rear suspension build. Ebike enthusiasts will go nuts.
Ah E bikes! I have such mixed feelings on e bikes. :)
beautifully!
quedo espectacular !!
you're a great fitter and welder. Well done.
Very good work...perfekt welder👍👏
Nice!!
I'm so happy to find your channel. It has helped immensely with a project I'm working on. What would bee the best way to go about attaching a headtube to a bent u shape tubing?
3:15 Neat.
If you run threads fast under pressure, be sure to lubricate them thoroughly, otherwise you risk breaking something. I speak from experience, having broken a few of them with impatience.
What happened to the last videos in this "Mini- Town Bike series?"
Hope all is well with you!
Checking in again!
Nice👍🔥
класс,
хорошо получается . Удачи !
Thank you much for all the hard work explained clearly.
I have been following your videos, I am not a frame builder but a science student and I am not sure why I got so much interested in it.
I have one doubt thought, why is that we have tiny hole at seat stays and chain stays? Also why we have drilled holes where two tubes will be welded?
Eagerly waiting for your reply?
Hi Steve! Awesome series, as usual. Can you clarify what is the final push down to the pedal that you do on the tacks about? I assume you mentioned it in some other video, but if so, I did miss it...
Loved the videos!! What filler wire are you using?
Why do you punch the amp control at the end of a weld?
Hey, another great video. I've been a long time watcher, you really do great work. What kind of torch are you using? It looks like you have a really short handle on it and that looks like a great idea. Thanks again and keep up the great videos and bikes!
dude what happened? come back! Great content...for real
I'll be back. Getting ready to make more videos. :)
what type of tubing do you use for your bicycle frames? Also, which make and model tig welder do you use?
Bom dia!
Qual valor de um quadro deste tamanho 56 speed?.
Obrigado.
Can you give the details on your slitting saw & arbor? I recall in an earlier video you had some struggles, but you seem to have it down now. Thank you
How many amps were you using on the seat stays?
Is the welding wire special?
Can ordinary Hi-Ten steel be welded with Crhomoly Steel?
What's the pumping you do on the foot pedal? Is that a technique for laying down a good tack or something? I sometimes struggle laying down a good tack.
I've noticed your not purging the tubes this time around, did you find it's not worth the hassle?
Another great instalment Steve, hope all is well at home. ❤️
pirate Yep it’s nice to do but not a necessity on steel. And it saves argon 😉
What material do you use? Stainless steel?
We miss you Pithy! Hope you are ok!
I'm aight.
7:22 What is a drilling machine?
What's that foot stomping method when you're tacking? You start with low current and then you give one big bang of higher current?
Cedric Eveleigh exactly. Never ramp into a tack weld. It will only heat up edge slowly and fold it back.
What filler rod did you use ? @Pithy Builds
Por que ya no haces videos? Eres muy buen frame builder!!!
Don’t you think It’s been later later by now? Haha, anyway I hope you’re doing well. Thanks for sharing so much and hopefully one day maybe more!
I know right? I actually just watched my own video and LOL'd at that part. I'll be back. :)
where are you dude, we miss you😔
This is so true
What about the remaining videos, did you complete building the bicycle or no ?
Great work man! When jigging up the seat stays, could you lay them flat on your drawing and tack them together at the seat tube end? You end up hole sawing that end off anyhow, could that help in getting them properly aligned? Love watching your stuff, keep it up!
Never thought of that! The one thing that could be a problem is tacking could inhibit the fit up once they are put into place on the ST.
@@PithyBikes In the video you mention that aligning the seat stays in your fixture is tricky because they're elevated off the drawing. I'm suggesting that you lay the tubes on the drawing and tack the ends together to hold them in that alignment. Then you can just lift the tubes and clamp them in your fixture. The next step of hole sawing the stay ends will cut off the tack anyways, so there shouldn't be an issue with fit up. Know what I mean?
Hello, Which kind of tools do you use to drill the notches?
watch more of my earlier videos :)
LOL, "The next video may be delayed a bit."
steel grade?
what is the thickness of the pipes? thank you!

Have you guys ever built a BMX race frame..?? let me know when you make a 24 inch BMX bike..I would like to try it out... frame and fork threaded bottom bracket I'm on the west coast and race competitively #3 in the nation in my age group.....I'm 63
bikerush1 not yet. I have parts left over for a street frame. Might do one of those sometime.
Por qué ya no subes videos?
Nice job. How's the alignment?
Richard H it’s great! SS didn’t cause any movement. But next I need to figure out how to stop the bridges from pinching it all together
@@PithyBikes Just bend it back out again if they do :) You've definitely got all the difficult alignment sorted out now. The frame is looking amazing, looking forward to the next episode!
What filler did you use for this one?
Roman Elsner I tack with er70s2. And weld with weldmold 880
@@PithyBikes Thanks :-)
Hi, Pithy what's happening your Mini Town Bicycle series, it's been beyond 8 months, stopped due to COVID 19
why not weld those caps on before you slot?
Axa Axa welding first increases possibility of hardening steel in that area. Making saw cut difficult
@@PithyBikes well the welds will likely be harder but the steel would likely be softened, in most cases anyway...
But I get your situation, when u get a bigger mill you'll likely worry less about such a thing.
hello im new subscriber, can you show me you vid abaut made cable route for discbrake at steel frame ?
Sorry haven't done any disc brakes yet! I really don't know anything about bikes, no joke. I kind of learn as I go. Some day I want to do a bike with disc brake. Oh wait actually my current build has disc brake. I forgot. I'm not trolling, I'm just being forgetful. Cable route on this bike will be coming soon. It's a first for me and I might do it wrong!
@@PithyBikes ok thanks...🙏🙏
Whaaar ya been dude???
Who me?
Come on make another video!
Steve!? where are you, we miss you!
Who is Steve? JK!
@@PithyBikes Yayyyyyyyyyyy!!!! welcome baaaaaack!!!
Here's an alternative tool for those without a mill to address the top joint. Its free. dogfeatherdesign.com/ttn_js/ Select the Bicycle Seat Stays to Seat Tube Joint (SS/ST) tab. I wrote the software for myself, thought it might be useful for others..
Where are you?
I'm in the west coat. The east bay SF to be as exact as I can. It's been a pretty wild year.
