      @@asaholey the pros want protection and to exclude the DIY'ers that can polish/coat as well or better than them. Kind of an outdated business model in my opinion, I think there's plenty of people who have no interest in it that should be able to keep them busy...but that's just the way it is.
      I want the best available too, but at least we have another high end option now. If it lasts the 6 years that they claim without any degradation, I'll be satisfied by that. My cars will certainly suffer enough abuse/neglect from my family that I will probably want to polish and re-coat by then anyways.
      I am intrigued by CCI Advance coating though, so I may pick up a bottle of that and throw it on my wife's car (next to C6 Hydro Lite) to see which will win out for when my car needs to be re-coated.

      @@jeffc6832 What makes C6 different from other coatings if they also use similar marketing tactics? Compared to other coatings, I think C6 is the hardest to apply because applying APP adds an extra step. Evaluating sleekness by touch and feel is not accurate. If you watch Pan the Organizer's video on how to remove bug guts from a C6 professionally coated paint, it involves the same steps as other coatings.

      @@jayhoughton558 a year is a good indication of how well it will perform. If 95% of the coating is still intact then it will easily make it another year. I picked up a bottle for myself, but I'm really curious to hear your thoughts about it over the next year and if you think the performance justifies the cost difference. With the launch of C6, Yvan said he wanted to make the best coatings possible without regard for cost. As an engineer who is always concerned about cost, I like the idea of something being designed as the best solution...even if it is expensive.
    I do think that there is something to these "nanodiamond" coatings that does make them better than a typical "ceramic." There have been varied experiences and opinions with the NGNT DPT coatings, but mine has been positive so far. I much prefer it over the other coatings I've used (Gtechniq CSL/EXO, P&S Inspiration Classic and Optimum Gloss Coat).

But I have got to be satisfied with what I've got. A little bit of FOMO 😂. Xpel PPF is really good, it's on both my cars. Headlights the lot. I've also got piano black B pillars that's been PPF'D I can highly recommend it 👌

      It was really created with the professional C6 installers in mind, I think that bottle will do something like 40+ cars. I think Hydro Lite was a later addition due to consumer demand (at least I was demanding it). They are considering making a smaller size.

    • @MikeGDetailing
      @MikeGDetailing  Před 2 měsíci +1

      APP will be coming in a smaller bottle. I barely touched the bottle so it can last forever if not doing it professionally. The coating itself is super easy to work with. I enjoy d working with it and similar to the DIY coatings in ease of use.
      The XPEL kits came in and those are now installed and coated with hydro lite.

      @MikeGDetailing Fantastic, you'll be pleased with Xpel, I've applied Gtechiq Halo V2 on one of my cars ppf and it's great, the beading is better than Dquartz Go by a mile but I've topped GO with some of the Gtechiq C2 as a temporary until I can find something a bit more edgier. You'll be please with Xpel!!
      Perfect, APP seems like a bit of a Halo product as its so unique. How everything is changing so fast this year. I think it would be great for the guy who only wants to apply a coating for a number of years and is happy to leave it. A big bottle would surely go off after a year and be binned and be wasteful. DIY are absolutely killing it ATM 🙌

      @krawanizky3756 Unfortunately Hydrlite isn't available in my country ATM, DQ GO is ok. I'm kinda happy with it. The car looks good, it's given it a higher pencil hardness. Until its looking a little shabby and unsightly I'll keep it on. I've paid the money. Toppers are given it a better boost of water beads. Had Hydro Lite been available, I would have bought this and app much like yourself and Mike.

    I would just like to know the reasoning behind why they rate this for 6 years vs the DIY 8 year but have them say hydro lite is a better performing coating? If it is a better coating why not rate it for 8 years OR say the 8 year coating lasts 6, etc. Also, if it is just an easier to apply version of the professional Hydro why say it’s only rated for 6 years vs the “lifetime” rating for the professional. I am interested in the coating but would just like some more info as I am sure others would as well!

    Not for me and here’s why. Most folks, including me, won’t keep a coating on the car for 5 or 6 years. The paint will get swirled up and it’ll get polished and that’ll remove the coating. So no need to spend $200 more for a coating that isn’t much better than the 5 year coating. Add in the fact most folks also don’t even keep a car 6 years.
