Raf Warner it is, it’s actually really damaging to hair(especially if it’s done frequently) but a lot of people still do it because natural styles aren’t accepted in a lot of places, or are at least seen negatively. Fortunately things are changing about that and less people are using relaxers but there’s still some pressure to straighten Afro-textured hair for not being as “acceptable” as naturally straight hair
Edit: I just thought I should add I’ve had those relaxers as a kid (not by choice) and it hurts... a lot. The chemicals burn. I’ve been natural for some years now and I’m never going back

As a person who did perm way to many times it burns a lot and if you scratch your hair before you put on perm or while the Perm is in your hair it will hurt WAY WORSE I promise when I first got my hair permed I screamed and ran away from my mom needing to wash the perm out of my hair also I feel like Perm burns your skin to which is why I have scabs on my head

After you're done with this hair damaging nightmare get yourself some sulfate free damage repair shampoo and conditioner, A LOT of conditioner. You're gonna wanna soak your hair in the conditioner for about 8-12 minutes when you shower. I would also recommend a moisturizing hair mask, as well as a leave in conditioner for your ends and a curl cream when you get out of the shower. Also try not to wash your hair more than twice a week, 3 times max. That will let your hair's natural oils build up and help with repairing the damage.
You're probably never gonna see this but I straight up winced seeing this video so I had to offer some kinda advice for the aftermath lol

If your like me and lucky, you just need to keep it moisturised after relaxing/perming it. I relax my hair every time I take my braids out. I have to admit my hair could be healthier but it’s not unhealthy or damaged x
I recommend using leave in conditioner every night and a blue hair food cream called bergamot every time you wake up 💞

BlueRae RedRae oof I'm sorry :( I actually use Aussie mega moist conditioner and also their three minute miracle moist. Sounds weird but I actually leave the conditioner in my hair. I use a ton of product lol Then I let my hair air dry. But just know that not all hair routines will work for everyone. You can definitely learn a lot from CZcams tutorials. Try different products and amounts until you figure out what works :)
