- The ICJ, the UN's top court, said the situation in Rafah, where hundreds of thousands of people took shelter after the start of Israel's war with Hamas, had become "disastrous".
The court also ordered Israel to open the Rafah crossing for emergency aid, and to report back on its progress in a month. Israel is also not doing enough to comply with evacuation orders, the court said.
The Israeli government is unlikely to comply with the ruling, which comes after South Africa lodged an emergency request with the court for it to order a halt to the fighting.

The trouble with the 35,000 figure for the death toll is that it's out of date and it never included those who died under the rubble. With the destruction of hospitals, infrastructure and methods of communication, that figure could be much higher. I'd believe it could be 100k.

If Israel wants peace it should cease following the Zionist Colonialist creed based on only those of the Jewish faith as being chosen and the unchosen Moslems and Christians are oppressed and driven out through death and destruction this way only creates more resistance. Give all ethnicities and religions equal rights across all land and allow those driven out to return. The 35'000 figure is so out of date, if we found out at least 100k have died by now, we shouldn't be shocked.

I was going to say the same thing. With no foreign reporters allowed, and the healthcare completely destroyed, there's been no way to confirm deaths for months. But the bombing hasn't stopped, the shelling hasn't stopped, and famine is spreading.
To say the death toll stopped at where it was in February is disingenuous from all these media members. It likely is near 100k at this point, and when it gets confirmed to be over 100k in a year or two when all of the information is finally known we shouldn't be surprised and we were complicit.

Listening to them less and less as they keep giving Israeli propaganda a platform. Multiple presenters have repeated unverified IDF claims as if they were facts. As far as I'm concerned it's like giving Nazis airtime and allowing them to try and justify their deeds - it is not worthy of air time, unworthy of being listened to.

The counters are being killed & civilian organisations & infrastructures are not immune to TOTAL WAR on "human animals of AMALEK".

If people think giving up the hostages will stop netanyahu you are so wrong. Why do you think they refuse to give them up? They know its their only bargaining tool. Horrific for the hostages and their families of course. I don't agree with the actions of hamas, but neither to I agree with the treatment on gaza and the west bank by Israel for a number of years. How on earth does Israel think getting rid of hamas will be the end of it when there will be even more hatred on the Palestinian side which if you are the ones suffering the consequences of all this it will add to the hatred. This war is not the solution for long term peace for the future generations of Israel, it is simply lunacy.
We really must place ourselves mentally in the shoes of others. Imagine a country was set up on our soil by people saying it belongs yo them. Whether it does or it doesn't does not change the fact you as the now evicted person will not be at all happy about it. Then to be pushed the edge and treated badly how would you personally react? Hamas or no hamas if you have people who feel aggrieved by another their will always be the ability for future groups to be formed. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, I'm saying think in a way where you are in their shoes and how humans behave in a psychological sense. Netanyahu is simply fueling the flames of hatred for a future government possibly 30 plus years down the road to deal with. Its extremely sad because nobody wins here. Neither side win. If your family or friends were killed by another nation would you be OK with that, or would you be angry? Of course Israel people have a right to be angry for the harms done to them. As a South African, a country whose liberation armies were labeled as terrorists while fighting a minority government that was supported by the West I am reluctant to label any military until all sides are heard.

The reason why the number has been stuck at the 35000 mark for the past couple of weeks is mainly because the whole infrastructure for tracking and recording fatalities has utterly collapsed in Gaza.
Additionally, missing persons are not accounted for, people buried under rubble are not accounted for, males of a certain age are not accounted for.
Tally all of those extra people up, and you'll find that we're probably now approaching the 30000 mark in unaccounted deaths in addition to the 35000, as of this month.
In addition, between then and now, even more people have been dying at an accelerated rate due to famine, untreated injuries, and and further killings and the figure will probably comfortably pass 100k fatalities when all is said and done.

If the Israelis had had any kind of success they would not have had to return to Jabalia,Zeitun and Gaza City in order to attempt, once again to clear out Hamas. Their military aims have been largely an abject failure.

Donald Trump will be the next president by next year and will give the Israeli regime the green light to do what the Turks did to the Armenian people or what Rome did to the Carthaginians.
