  • The International Criminal Court have applied for arrest warrants for three Hamas leaders as well as Benjamin Netanyahu and his defence minister. The ICC has said it is seeking the warrants on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
The Chair of the Foreign Affairs Select Committee Alicia Kearns has told LBC’s Andrew Marr that ‘some of the best legal minds in the world’ have drawn up the ICC’s arrest warrant request against Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu, adding, ‘we cannot live in a world where we say that democratically elected or autocratic states have no one to which they are accountable.’
Speaking on Tonight with Andrew Marr on LBC, the Conservative MP for Rutland and Melton also told Andrew that she ‘would not go as far’ as the Foreign Secretary Lord Cameron in calling the request a mistake, telling LBC, ‘we cannot in one year say that the ICC is absolutely right and herald it as a great success of the independent legal system around the world and then say it’s not right.’

I don't think it'll happen in the short term but when the Tory's finally realise they need to slip back to center/center-right after the incoming wipeout, if she's still a member, I can see her being put forward as a candidate then. People are waking up to the rehearsed soundbites ALL MP's repeat over and over (look at a recent Question Time where a Labour-voting audience member rinsed on a Labour MP for not answering a single question directly) and are sick of it. When that time comes they're going to need people like Alicia Kearns to "stabilise" and restore faith.
