In an interview where he is sharply critical of the functioning of the Supreme Court since 2014, when Narendra Modi became Prime Minister, and particularly of former Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, the former Chief Justice of the Madras and Delhi High Courts has said that since 2014 the Supreme Court “practically succumbed to the executive’s control”. Justice Ajit Prakash Shah said: “All floodgates opened after CJI Thakur’s retirement”. Justice Shah said of the Supreme Court: “Over the last 8 years the judiciary is completely demoralized and under siege”.

SC judges releasing even Zubair, Rana Ayyubs,Teesta and Azan Khan etc are proofs. Set 2 men bench to solve Hijab issue, how and why!? During CAA agitation they allowed seizure of capital in the name of dissent on a law that was any way adjudicated by them and which is final. Why!?. Should order to clear roads and await their decision, isn't it!? They did when the interlocutors were ridiculed, why!? Their complacesy resulted in mayhem. Blood in their hands actually.

Karan another wonderful interview, enjoyed every second of it. Justice Shah is spot on. His views concur the views of many people of this country. If judges of Supreme Courts behave in manners unbecoming, it's a sad day for democracy. Like Justice Shah said , justice must be done and seem to be done too. This perception of fairness of our judges has taken a big hit in the recent times. Hope and pray that our next CJI, Chandrachud will restore the faith of every citizen in our judicial system and that our constitution is in safe hands. Thank you both for this interview.

Do you know Dr. Singh's educational qualification? Do you know why he wears a particular shade of blue turban? Modi is a chronic liar. He sold tea at a railway station that did nit exist at that time. He send Advani's picture by e.mail even when the technology was not invented. Needless to talk about Ache din, vikas, fuel price, joblessness, global hunger index ranking, demonitisation et al. What the nation build over six and a half decades was destroyed in less than five years by Modi.

Without doubt judiciary is crushed by the political leaders of Centre and State to carry out their nefarious and corrupted activities, with a paltry allocation of funds. The main reasons for an incompetent judicial system is it's lifeline channel is choked, which is Money/ funds to carry out comprehensive Judicial Reforms. Even NJAC is not Comprehensive. Further additions are required like Manpower Planning on an all india scale is required (Judicial staff, judges and support staff) then we come down to infrastructures/ Court buildings etc, then to Supervision, / inspection Mechanism, watchdog for any deficiency. Better Centre studies world judicial systems and adopts which is best for india, where there is low crime rate and high development Rate.

Very able judge. Practised for many years in High Court of Bombay before taking office as judge. Put in a lot of effort to reduce pendency.

most daring job done by you dear Mr Thapar. We need to pay more attention in this area of justice. Blatant blundars are committed by these custodians of Jusitce under MODIji. Pathetic and deplorable. Thank you for this courageous interview

Mr. Shah has quoted that during Late Indira Gandhi rule judiciary was weakened. He tends to forget that the judgement went against her, setting aside her election.
    Mr. Shah owes a reply...

Aadhar was made voluntary by the Supreme Court but the Executive has made it mandatory ,more recently in the requirement of linkage of Voter's ID to Aadhar. If one raises this point with a government official , it is totally disregarded. Courts and judges's have become inconsequential .
