@@yonders0101 Spectacular Spider-man? That show was terrible, they tried too hard to make a second universe with those other shows Avengers and Thor and the agents of A.S.G.A.R.D. Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-man was the BEST show.
@lord_egg Spectacular Spider-Man was the good one that was hilarious with great action scenes by Greg Weissman. You're thinking of Ultimate Spider-Man... the one with the bad animation and the constant unfunny 4th wall breaks.
The fact that spider-man unlimited was gonna be spider-man 2099, but ended up being spider-man unlimited because of them thinking they was gonna confuse spider-man 2099 of batman beyond.
I love the idea that during nighttime scenes, Spider-Man can only be seen through the red sections of his costume because the blue/black blends into the shadows. So cool!
As far as I know just like with Batman the OG suit was Black and Red with a Dark Blue lines to give it deep and definition to the suit (Batman was Black and Gray) but with Time people just assume that was Red and Blue and change it for the suit that we know ( I think that Rommita Sr was the one with the change) Yeah the Red and Blue Is a classic and beautiful. But Yeah I still prefer the Red and Black/Blue. Like the Amazing Fantasy or the Todd Mcflaner one.
This feels like a perfect representation of what peak Spider-Man media should be like stylistically, at least for me personally. I feel like there was an era from the late 80's to the early 2000's where Spider-Man used to be this cool, and I feel like this kind of vibe has been lost with the current state of the MCU where everything is extra safe and ironic.
Spiderman is more of a friendly and goofy guy but people have forgotten that this is *that* guy when it's his day, too bad comic writers would die to make his day worse.
I can remember seeing the teaser for the MTV series when I had the 2002 movie on VHS! After Spider-Man 3 though, I was a little fatigued so when I saw the teaser for Spectacular Spider-Man, I didn't think much of it, until I gave the first episode a try and I was HOOKED. But man, if we had a series like this in between, like you said it would have been PEAK and really cement this style of Spider-Man for longer!
This show would then go on to air from 1997-2000, where it would receive mixed reviews, until in the later years of 2022, people started to realize how great of a show it was. With lots of fans demanding a return, the show would return for a 4th season with all of the original voice cast, and directors.
This looks like the kind of show to be shelved in a 2AM time slot on Adult Swim and get cancelled after one season, just for people to come back 20 years later and realize they missed one of the greatest animated shows of all time
While the visual style is good, most of tha actual animation is traced from other Spidey cartoons (like the 2017 one for example). So saying that it is better than this shows is just wrong IMO.

This gives me vibes of a show that wasn't renewed after 2 seasons, but it was an underappreciated banger of a show, like the type of shit that people want another season years after it has aired.
I'm late to the party, and I'm no artist, but this is honestly astonishing. Throughout the whole trailer, typically when Spider-man's fighting a new villian, there's a slight variation to the artstyle. Shifting from something that looks like it was drawn in MS Paint one minute to something handdrawn with pencils the next, and so on. It's never stagnant, but there's a overarching theme and inspiration behind the whole thing. It's a shame that we won't get anything like this. Not just because Marvel has their heads up their ass and won't want to work with obvious talent like Jose, but also because something like this would be too ambitious a project for an entire show, which would scare them. Even though their fanbase would eat this up and ask for seconds like it was Thanksgiving.

The image in my head was not of a friendly Spider-Man, but of a cocky and sarcastic one. He makes dark jokes, spares no effort on criminals, and is not nice to the villains, recording all their crimes on camera and posting them on the Internet under an unknown name. Parker in this universe is not an excellent biologist, but a hacker with a golden head. He found out long ago that Oskorb is a criminal organization hiding under the guise of a charitable foundation. But instead of openly exposing them, he decided to cooperate with them in order to bring them to light with the help of hidden manipulations. This Parker was also bullied at school, but instead of accepting it and moving on with his life, he became embittered at the world and became a recluse. He moved in with Aunt May so as not to be a burden, and began to live in a cheap one-room apartment. Osborne forbade Harry from contacting Peter after he found his son high in Peter's apartment. And Gwen began to avoid him, because she stopped seeing him as the same person, kind and cheerful. Years passed. So Peter’s days would have ended in a disadvantaged area, in a small apartment with a cheap computer and marijuana, until one day Gwen, of her own free will, decided to invite him to a science exhibition, and he, out of old loving feelings, accepted this invitation. And it was there that the spider bit him. In this world there were no Uncle Ben's words about responsibility and strength, so at first he was a criminal. But one day he himself did not notice how he robbed Gwen. He was so confused that he didn't know what to do. He looked at himself and asked if he wanted to continue living like this. And the answer was obvious. He did not become a hero immediately, but gradually, step by step.
