The UPDATE has always bugged me.
It's a Brand new console yet I have to wait for it to update before playing games. :-(

If I didn't setup the app on the initial setup where do I go? I have a prompt on my phone to enter 6 digit code but my TV hasn't showed me the code since the 1st setup

You can get to it from the settings menu.

You can if you do not have an existing Microsoft account. If you use services such as OneDrive, Outlook.com, or Skype you already have a Microsoft account.

Why not use the App? Doesn't it make the setup faster?

This is just showing another way to set it up. There are lots of videos showing the setup process using the app. Neither method works better. It is completely personal preference.

Ive used the app and i tried it without the app everytime on the update when it gets to the part where the console restarts but when it boots back up the update restarts and its a continuous cycle i just got my series x back from getting it fixed because it was shutting off randomly now i cant even set it up

This works for me, cause at this time my emergency contact email I couldn't remember anything about it lol. So I had to update that to my phone and it's telling me 30days till that's final and I ain't got that kind of patience lol
