I made this chili on Sunday and I had it today, and I have to say this is the best chili I have ever made. It is just wonderful it doesn't taste like tomato sauce it tastes like chili. You are a heck of a cooking everything I've made from your videos has been terrific... But I am super duper pleased with this chili!!🤸🤸🤸
Glad you like it! Thanks for your kind comments!
I feel like Ken is an old family friend with his cooking style! I will definitely be trying this out soon. Thanks again for sharing your delicious recipes with us
I appreciate your kind words. Thanks for watching!
Great chili recipe. The coffee makes perfect sense. I use 2 tsp of cocoa powder for the back note flavor. I thicken chili with corn masa and use pablano instead of green bell pepper eliminating the can of hatch chilies. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching and commenting!

Good golly sir! I thought you were going to make some kind of campfire coffee or something like that to go with the chili. Adding coffee to chili is so much better! 🙌👍👏👏👏God bless you both 💞

Thanks for watching and commenting. To answer your question, the chili was not overly spicy or hot.
Yummy!

Hope you give it a try.
Looks great!
Thanks!
Ever since I accidentally came across your biscuit recipe, I am hooked on trying your recipes! Biscuit recipes that I tried before were miserable, I think they usually said to roll out the dough, and they never turned out. I had a happy husband when I presented him with good, buttery, flaky biscuits! And now this chili will be for tonight, can’t wait to taste it after the liquid smoke is added, and it’s thickened. One thing though, to reduce the sauce, shouldn’t the lid be off? He also loved the Mexican cornbread with burger in it. All these tried in 1 week! Thanks to Covid 19!
Yes, if you take the lid off it will reduce and thicken faster. But there is something wonderful about slow simmering that I enjoy.
Ken Click thanks! I will watch it carefully then.
Wow! I've made chili before but never tried to incorporate coffee into it. Looks so delicious! I'm all about trying something new & different. Definitely going to try. Thank you Mr. Ken!😋👍
Great! Hope you like it!
We love using the Montreal seasoning.... its so good ! I love coffee, but have never heard of it being used in chili. I have heard of using unsweetened chocolate. When my husband was alive, and diabetic, I would make him home made chili using canned mushrooms in place of the beans. . I like mine served with white rice. thanks for sharing your recipe. It looks and sounds wonderful 🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃
I like it, but it's also great using beef broth rather than coffee. Thanks for watching.
Nothing like a good batch of homemade chili. looks great Ken, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching and commenting!
That looks fantastic ........i will be trying this recipe.
Hope you like it!

wow! coffee. Never would have thought of that :)
It's good!
@@KenClick Cooked the chili last night. It was awesome. My husband had 3 bowls. :) Thanks for the recipe and I will be watching. New subscriber.
That's great! Help spread the word...🙂👍
My mouth is watering. I would have never thought of coffee. Wonderful video! Thank you.
Hope you give it a try!
You're my kinda guy....."the ain't nothin' wrong with puttin' beans in the chili kinda guy." I add a tiny, tiny bit of unsweetened cocoa powder to my chili. Makes it a rich russet color and gives it a little something extra no-one can figure out, when the littlest bit goes into the pot. My mom's version always had green pepper and beans but never spicy.
Thanks for watching!
I don't think I've ever seen a prettier chili! Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
I made chili and beans tonight and put my leftover coffee from this am in it. I didnt deglaze pan with it used nonstick pan. It was good kind of a smokey taste.
Glad you tried it! Thanks for watching...🙂
That looks great. Although I can't condone the use of liquid smoke. I do use the coffee on a smaller scale. 2 thumbs up
Thanks for watching!
Making this tonight before the game, except with beef broth instead of coffee (can't handle the caffeine). Thanks!
Works great with beef broth! Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@KenClick Turned out great! Thanks for the recipe.
Great! Glad to hear it.
It's October in North Georgia and I just made the first chili since last winter. I didn't put in any coffee though, and I know better than that! Thank you for reminding me; I won't forget it next time -- which could be any minute now, because we're Native Texans and we looooove chili!
Great! Homemade chili is always good!
Mmmmmm it's like a red eye gravy chili *droooooool*
Thanks for watching!
Great tip about the coffee. Would coffee work for cooking a pot of stew as well? Thanks for the recipe, looks delicious.
Yes, but stew has a more subtle flavor and the coffee taste might come through.
Ken Click Good point....thanks for the info. Looking forward to your next recipe.
Is the coffee a substitute for beef stock or red cooking wine. Looks amazing😋
It’s just for added flavor.
@@KenClick thanks
@@KenClick what should someone who can't stand coffee (smell or flavor) in any amount use as a substitute? I gag just cleaning a coffee cup with the little drops at the bottom of it.
@@alaskancoppertop You may use water or beef stock instead.
Sitting here in Texas watching you make chili...you did good!! Coffee?? I’m going to be trying that...it all looks wonderful!🌷🚍
Great! If you try it, let me know what you think. Thanks for watching!
Absolutely love all your recipes. Do you do all the cooking?❤️❤️👍
Thanks! No, I don't do all the cooking. My wife cooks too! 🙂
Looks good to the last drop ☺
It is very good!
I love your cookin Ken you know I like to joke around sometimes but it's all in fun your just an awesome chef
Thanks for watching!
This looks wonderful, unfortunately I'll have some problems finding some of those ingredients here in Mexico. I'd caution you with regard to adding that much chili powder unless you are familiar with your particular brand. Not all chili powders are created equal, especially here in Mexico.
Thanks for the tips!
What better dish to cook than Chili ! OMG, so delicious-tasty & good !
A new & diff twist in chili for me ; adding coffee !! Awfully delicious, I must say !
Great! Glad you tried it!
I need that pot
Ha!
Ken I knew you loved coffee from your camping videos....but ...this seals any doubt of it. LOL I'll give this recipe a try.
Yes, do try it. I think you'll like it!
Have you always used coffee to make your chili? You’re the first person that I have ever heard of that does this. I would certainly try making it this way. It’s just interesting to me
No, not always.
What knife did you use here? Looked like a good one.
It's a good knife at a bargain price. Check here: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005P0ONNU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I have never heard of coffee as the liquid in chili!
Thanks for watching!
It looks very nice but, we like grilled cheese with ours or garlic butter toasted Italian bread
I have a video for grilled cheese.
Can u make chicken fried steak, on ur next video if u can??
Sorry, next video is already in the works.
I can not wait to cook this ! I have never made it this way . What brand is your liquid smoke ? Your bowl that holds the chilli is very pretty !
The liquid smoke is Fort Worth Stockyard brand. Thanks for watching!
Hope you're using Mexican oregano in this chili.
🙂
Looked like a bottle of Mexican Seasoning on the counter there, but it disappeared near the end before you used it?
I used it. It was in one of the little pre-measured cups of seasoning I added.
@@KenClick Ooops, thanks!
Kinda like ole red eye gravy.
Mmmm,
Thanks for watching!
