- We know we are jumping the gun a bit on the title considering the Thunder have yet to even make the playoffs with this core, but considering the young talent they have and their future draft picks they are a dynasty in the making.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is already an undisputed top 10 player and MVP candidate just entering his prime. Chet Holmgren is the current favorite for rookie of the year. Jalen Williams is looking like a future all star and the Thunder have 15 first round picks over the next seven drafts. Today we take a look at the Thunder's surprise season thus far and what they should do in the trade market this year.

As an Oklahoma native, I’m hyped as hell for this core
What tribe?
Maybe not giddey
Shit
As a thunder fan I’m super excited for this team. However, I’ve seen this episode before with the thunder, so imma just chill for a bit.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's talent blossomed under the guidance of Chris Paul and he was able to develop into a star player.
Moving to the Thunder was the right decision.
Chris paul an underrated okc legend for his all star season for the thunder and when Katrina happened the hornets played in Oklahoma for a bit
As a Clipper fan we all knew we had something in Shai, he showed such unique flashes his rookie year despite just being a role player. But he’s blown the expectations out the roof bro is a superstar. Also just makes me laugh at how universally loved he is bc had he developed the way he has on the Clippers he’d have a million times more haters and people discrediting him
He’d never grow and develop on the clippers. OKC is THE place for young talent to develop and prosper
So, last time there was a downhill guard and 7 foot slim jim in OKC, they both won MVPs.
Chet MVP 2031.
Thunder definitely has the players and the picks to make a big splash if they wanted to
But definitely Shai has taken that leap and he is in the conversation for mvp
I'm a Celtics fan first and foremost but I love watching OKC.
SGA and Chett are my 2 favorite non-Celtics players in the league.
Congrats OKC fans on beating us last week and good luck in the future as a Cs fan🤝
It's great to assemble this amount of talent and draft assets but the problem they'll run into, like last time around with KD, Russ and Harden, is their region doesn't have the population to get the owner to spend.
That roster will become expensive. The window they have to make this work before they're forced to condense the roster is limited.
Another hurdle for them will be expansion. Last time around, the NBA allowed 8 players to be protected. They can't overstock the bench with young talent because they'll end up losing them for nothing.
Thank you for including my "Yes" tweet in the video.
I've always been singing the praises of Sam Prestie and the moves he has made since trade in PG and Russ. This dude is just incredible at finding talent and putting it together. I know they learned a lesson s before when they give up James Harden to Houston because it didn't want to pay him but what they are doing right now is just something incredible. Outside of the San Antonio Spurs I've always gave respect to that OKC front office for what they have done to set this team up They could definitely make some big noise in the playoffs maybe even get to the Western Conference Finals this year.
Plus on top of that he's been a part of the San Antonio Spurs organization in the past winning three championships as the assistant general manager. So all he did was take his knowledge that he learned and San Antonio and brought it to OKC. And to go from the era when you had KD Harden and Russ now to go to have this era with these next era with the talent of SGA, Chet and J Dub with a ton of draft picks coming down the pipe to make his team even better or stronger Be on the lookout for this team to be a juggernaut and win a championships in the next few years cuz it's definitely possible with the way how Sam knows how to find talent and having the draft picks to pull it off as well.
They do need a big to match up with with Joel and joker but man scary young core.
Josh Giddey is like a Derrick White, not demanding anything and filling gaps as needed. I think he’s a keeper.
As a thunder fan, he's not. Poor shooter and hunts shots he doesn't need to. Like focus mainly on assisting and rebounding which are your strongest suits and the game will come to you, the shots will present themselves. Team developed too fast and he's trying to keep up forcing shots up there
@@Gunner1302 Glad to hear that perspective! At least he is generally a ball-mover, but no, he should not be hunting his own with SGA, Chet, and JWill next to him. From the outside with how much they are winning it all looks perfect.
@@Gunner1302hes shooting 40% from 3 since beginning of December
These videos are the highlight of my Mondays & Fridays
good vid bros! basically a podcast but not as boring or static as other ones
We said the same about the 2010s Thunder
Let’s not jump to conclusions yet
Make a Miami Heat video next
thank you for another great video
Can u guys make a video about the best players born in each state as it would be a good watch
Hear me out a retrospective series on all of the 70 win seasons in nba history
Was waiting for for this vid
Luka maybe better than Shai (for now). But he did beat Luka in the FIBA world Cup qualifiers. And Shai has proven to be a better leader.
I’ve been waiting all day for your video The best basketball, CZcamsrs
Personally, I would make moves in the offseason to get veterans to help the young guys during the playoffs and just in general. However, this season I think we are okay. We don’t necessarily have to make a ton of moves or anything, just because I feel like it would mess up the chemistry of this team if we did.
BUT with a Lowry pic is gold😂😂
The most exciting thing about this team is that their play style will transition great to the playoffs. This team plays cool, calm, and has multiple players that will make the same play; No Russel Westbrook hero-ball antics on this squad. The midrange becomes even more important when the playoffs comes and Shai might just be the best at it. We've also seen that they matchup well vs the Nuggets who will most definitely be waiting for them in the Conference Finals. We've also already seen Lu Dort and Shai ball out in the bubble and almost beat that Rockets team.
You guys are my new comfort youtube channel
I'm boosting your views while I clean my apartment and send emails, I love it
I feel like at a certain point to many picks is hard because if they try and use them then they’ll have to many people on the roster and too make a trade they’ll have to give up a bunch of picks for a big superstar.
calm down fellas. until we see them win a SINGLE playoff series, lets hold with the gun jumping. talented team though. but till we see them do it in the playoffs - they nice, that's all.
I love they’re talking about my thunder. But it’s jynxed so far as we lost to the hawks and nets and yesterday barely beat the Wizards
Josh Giddey being a vital piece to the next nba dynasty.. what happened to the sport I love 😢
Karl malone is top 3 in scoring and i think most people will agree that what he did was worse lol
I can't believe ppl seem to be forgetting he allegedly slept with a child
stop the giddy hate she lied about her age leave him alone
@@PricefieldPunk You shouldn't immediately believe every allegation you see.
@@crongg2049he’s also a two time MVP
I disagree with the take that he’s not better than Luka. Luka is a better scorer and rebounder, but Shai does it all. Plays great defense, elevates his teammates around him, cries less, and gets it done with 4 less attempts and 2 minutes less on the floor. Both incredible in their own right. But I can’t say one is better than the other. They both have certain skills that affect the game in different ways and so I prefer using a tiered system. I believe they both belong in the “elite” tier.
I'd like them to get something back but oddly enough I don't really want them to make a trade becuase they need something but more so for players like Tre Mann and maybe Poku to get more minutes somewhere else. Not sure where I'd like to see them go but I don't see them getting a lot of play with the Thunder down the stretch.
Towards the end of last season, i said this team would be a Top 4 seed in the west and everybody laughed
Finally the greatest CZcams channel covering the greatest nba team
From an OKC Thunder fan, I’d like to say say thank you 🙏 Damian Lillard.
No way they should make a trade, that’s my instinct. But Jarrett Allen would be a great fit that wouldn’t mess with the vibes.
The Thunder-Clippers Paul George trade is turning into the greatest fleece in NBA history. We all know that the Clippers more than likely won't win the championship this season and with Kawhi and Paul George's hesitation to resign along with the $1 billion+ dollars Steve Ballmer is paying for the new Clippers arena this summer, this is just looking like the classic Clippers short sided move of screwing up the team for a "quick fix" that ultimately blows up in their faces.
If the Thunder never makes a conference finals then the Clippers would still be victorious but rn it looks like a Hershel Walker type trade
"I know we're jumping the gun on the title"
The title: "the thunder are here"
I mean, you are right. The thunder won't be in Portland til March 6th
I don't think they are truly there yet. That game where they were getting blown out by brooklyn shows that they need a rebounding center and chet should be their 4, their bench is also questionable. Idk I'm a nets fan but that's just my take on it
Another KD,westbrook,Harden,Ibaka story if you ask me.
Yeahh i agreed
The thing is tho even if it does end up like that, they have so much draft capital and valuable young players they could trade to rebuild AGAIN if they need to.
This time no Prime Bron to run into. I think they can make the finals this year definitely conference finals run.
Let time decide, but I fear you're right. Getting good too fast is a bad problem, especially if one of these players wants more money, and they don't have a crystal ball to tell them the cap will rise to fit in the contract
What does this even mean...
I will say though this franchise does know how to rebuild really well. Like holy fuck!
It's funny seeing my comment on Twitter, but this team is what i wanted my grizzles to be. Their doing what grizzlies were doing that one year and doing it better.
When Siakam comes to Sac. Talk about the Kings Please
As a Thunder fan, I don’t really want to make any huge trades for a star. I would rather bolster the bench a little and get a couple of rebounders because we always get killed on the boards. I know it won’t be a popular opinion but I would love to get Mikal Bridges for a Giddey package. I just like watching that dude hoop
Jaylin Williams needs more minutes!!! 🇻🇳🇻🇳🇻🇳🇻🇳🇻🇳 we love him from Vietnam!!! 🇻🇳🇻🇳🇻🇳🇻🇳🇻🇳🇻🇳
1000% hittin that like when you instantly at least warn me it click bait. Ain’t a bait at this point
Can u gys do a video on wemby
Why did you guys change the title so quick
Tbh, no not yet. They’re obviously like right at the doorstep but i’m gonna give it a year
Who knows, they could prove me wrong and make a deep run this year
yall rly think the rockets arent gonna improve w sengun looking like an all star already? not to mention guys like jabari and amen thompson are top 4 picks that are young and improving. feels wild to say they'll either be average of bad
I don’t like how Chet is in contention for the ROY. If any player were to have went and signed with a Pro EU team, but did not end up playing a single game but still got paid. That player would is not considered a Rookie, so why is Chet? Could just be me but I find it silly to call Chet a rookie. He’s a great player non the less.
Missed opportunity to put the clip where Usain Bolt actually jumps the gun. (2011 World Championships)
And this big 3 is comaptible enough to start together, Where as before harden had to come off the bench.
Dude SGA is top 5 in the league. Embid, Giannis and Jokic are must picks, then its Luka and SGA for me
This is potentially a dynasty because of them all young I can see Shai and Holmgren and possibly Giddy being a big 3 when they develop to their best potential.
Jalen Williams will be the 3rd member of the big 3 not Giddey
@@chrisroberts8625yeah giddey is not good😂
I’m scared with the new league rules regarding salaries, this core will end up splitting up before they accomplish anything. Just like the 2011 OKC team.
Giddey over J Dub? Get off the drugs bruh
@@dilwitchspahlin4761 sorry I didn't know much about the other guy
The rockets trade was for Sengun not Russ
Sam presti best gm in the league
they came into the nba in 2008 synthetic
We seen that 1st title
In 2 or 3 more years they are definitely finals contenders
They need one to start the dynasty
Not lose in the conference finals over and over
Lauri marketen ?
37K 2mo 60.9K subs
The thunder just know how to hit on their picks EVERYTIME!!! other teams are lucky to hit on 1 out of 3 first round lottery picks, that’s why they are where they are, plus they get to draft 3-4 every year lol.
The Thunder really do need to cut Josh Giddy though, it just sends a bad precedent for the league as a whole. A crime is a crime. The Thunder have more than enough assets to replace him.
If this team could get a forward like Jabari smith jr it’s over bro
blaming you guys for the loss tonight
Sga ain’t in his prime yet.. that’s the scary part
Potentially.
They look great, now okc just has to keep them all, right now giddy is the only movable player in my opinion.
Could definitely see these cats making it to the conference finals this year
Soon kd will want to go back 😅
🎉🎉🎉
Be warned, this video may come back to bite you guys.
Celtics in 6 over OKC
Can they be potential champions before y’all say they are a potential dynasty first lol
as the most optimistic Thunder fan, 2 seed wasn’t that out of there.
and no. no trades. rest of you suffer and beg for picks in perpetuity like renters to blackrock. JA is also a horrible fit lol
and yes. we’re better than the timberwolves. one of us is the best halfcourt offense in the league and it’s not them.
I love y’all videos but I hate how y’all ignoring how scoot is a bust
You probably would’ve called De’Aaron Fox and Darius Garland busts at this point in their rookie seasons have some patience casual he’s looked better lately
2nd round exit
Bro is yapping
They beat the Clippers cos there was no Kawhi and they were on a b2b..
You spoke from both sides of your mouth, saying the Hawks loss is nothing but their win on Clippers means something.
Why isn't Timberwolves being talked about more?
First
Second
Disagree on Jarrett Allen
Not Joel
LUKA DONCIC
PLEASE TRADE FOR LUKA IN A YEAR
SGA isn't good enough. He will get bullied just like how he was playing for Canada scoring 14 points when it mattered most.
He just needs more meat on his body especially when he lacks the 3 and he's only 6'3.
Clippers have made it to conf finals. OKC lost in play-in.
SGA was made of glass until this season..
Shai scored 30 in the elimination game for Canada, and he's 6'6. What are you talking about?
they haven’t even one or played in a real playoff series yet chilll
Trade for KD.
Jarrett Allen is a terrible fit any traditional big man would not work in okc, okc been avoiding traditional bigs it a reason why they constantly pass on them in the draft and kept signing bigs like Dario saric and Mike muscala and Derrick favors
With how okc offense and defense is a traditional big man don’t work they want players who a versatile not players who are one dimensional
I don’t trust sga in the playoffs
1st round exits 😂
😮💨
The MMPR dynasty lol
It's going to be a clippers/thunder showdown to determine who is coming out of the west.
I really don’t know why, he has done nothing wrong but something really makes me hate Chet Holmgren. Maybe it’s from NBA2K but there’s something that I just really don’t like about him 🥲
i feel the same about wembanana 😂
