Can't wait for that new series of less expensive knives. Ned floss I was definitely considering it.

Wow! Great throws... the sound it makes is awesome. You know that of it hit a soft target, it would be a shitty, shitty day for whatever it hit.

I'm not so sure about those things. The fundamental problem with crossbows is inefficiency. On a rifle size crossbow, the string moves maybe a foot. That's why they need to be several hundred pounds to do the same damage as a traditional bow, with a fraction of the draw weight, 50-70 pounds and a throw length around 30 inches. On a pistol size, your throw length is even less. You're only getting a fraction of that initial 50-80 pounds. Slingshot guys know this principal very well. You get a lot more power from a long draw vs a cheek draw. In terms of foot pounds on target, I'd bet they hit with around the same force as a cheapo daisy wrist rocket. Sure, you have the advantage of a pointy projectile, but that still put them in the vermin and small game category.

@@forksandspoons7272 You are correct, those little crossbows wouldn't be sufficient as a survival weapon, at most you could take a rabbit at 15 yards if you were real good with it

From the little I've learned about the Gherkas, I don't recall any recorded instance of the traditional war version ever being thrown. That would be an interesting challenge, if you can get your hand on a decent copy. As a throwing knife, they're certainly not designed for it, but if anyone could find a way to make it stick, you could.
I'd count and edge on hit as a success. In their intended role, that would be enough to gain the thrower an advantage.
