Very egotistical comment here that you made, it is not so much that people depend on Facebook, but do not want their accounts being hacked, so that their data isn’t collected by unknown people.

Social media are modern solutions to modern problems.
Its not about being "addicted" to anything.
A lot of people just cant live other way in these modern times.
A lot of people live in the middle of nowhere and a lot of people have no real life friends.
Just connected to a VPN in Canada and I can access it that way. That means the Canadian servers aren't impacted.

1:18pm my FB desktop appears to be up and running but my Samsung tablet and phone are not. It still wants me to sign in on those.
I'm in NJ ymon and last Friday they were doing doing military drills. Helicopters and plane thrusters were so loud. And abundant..now meta and instagram down. Coincidence? Somethings up last week presidential plane in bangor but the president was somewhere else..

When I tried to log in I got a security threat window popup saying this was a Dangerous Site - Attackers were trying to trick users into installing software and revealing information like passwords, phone, and credit card numbers - (I screenshotted this message)

Wow, it looks like somebody somebody out there is doing a massive test on all the things that they can shut down. Pretty scary. When they do all of this at once one day.
I noticed it was super slow this morning but thought it was my internet

I know the feeling. I thought I was hacked and so I changed my password, but in spite of that, nothing. So far, nothing. I guess I need to wait 24 hours before I can try logging in with my new password, the hopefully get the 6 digit verification code on my cellphone. I was told yesterday that for my security facebook limits the number of attempts a user can make before they simply block your efforts for a time. It is a real headache.
News is reporting that it is now working... but my FB log-in is still not working. At first I thought I was hacked so I'm relieved it's not that. I'll try again in the morning.
I have read on many sites and some are waiting 24 hours, but others are thinking, maybe open a new account? Not a good idea. In my opinion, keep your account, wait it out for a time. Nobody wants to be having to deal with this BS but it looks like we are not alone. I access Facebook via a desktop computer. My browser has the latest password and still it looks like a waiting game now.

This is why people should not be depending on Facebook Instagram. What's up at 8 about any other social media platform? The only one that most people use it's just CZcams I care. I left it CZcams and goes to hell. I don't depend on shopping but I don't depend on cell phone because cell phone goes down. I have my ways of communication. The old school way.

Another egotistical comment, it is not just people, depending on Facebook people actually have data that clearly was hacked and probably collected by an unknown entity.

I thought I needed to just change my password so I did and still never received a 6 digit code. It has been about 29 hours and I can't get back in Facebook. Bummer. Because I have a lot of groups to manage and can't do anything about it. So I guess well, there's CZcams, right? for now.
