  • In this video we finally get chance to do some of our Herbal Ley silage and our Red Clover silage. Dad gets busy on the mower and I turn up with the rake. I also bring home some new arrivals ready for the bulls to go in. You guessed it, some more stabiliser cows.
I hope you enjoy it and thank you so much for the support.

Herbal leys for the win, absolutely amazing those 18 different species of legumes, nitrogen fixing and gorgeous vetches with plantain!

Under a very heavy grass crop situation you will find that the baler has to stop for the wrapper to finish the wrap cycle. However years when the grass is that thick are unusual. I would still go for a baler wrapper, as it sames time wrapping separately.

Found your channel recently while researching the possibility of a small-scale farm in Yorkshire/Derbyshire in the next few years to run alongside my main business in the UK, which is nothing at all to do with farming. I've farmed before but overseas in much hotter climes (sugar-cane and zebu cattle) and you've gotten me very interested in learning more about Stabilisers. Subscribed.

Weve got an kuhn fbp 3135 and it wraps incredibly quick youll never make bales quicker than the wrapper but 100% go for a combi saves so much time and makes it a one man job

I don't know why people don't use more of red clover . Its little less of protein but more of sugars and can be really successful at acid and really wet soils .

Hello, could you give an update on foliar feeding with the tow and fert . It was interesting that you fed a non nitrogen mix on the herbal lay. Why did they recommend that mix, what do the components offer. How did the paddocks respond to the urea vs granular. Thanks for the content.

Buy a combi baler whit a bigger bale size like 160cm insted of 125cm then you vill be abel toget more in to one bale and not worry about it wraping to slow but we have never had tha problem whit our combi balers kep up the good work

You know how good McHale stuff is and I will guarantee that the Fusion 3 or better the Fusion 4 will wrap them faster than they get baled.. super baler.

Christ you've some grass for no fert. Drying up here worrying quickly. Grass has shot ahead of cows but regrowth has dropped right off. Quality is going but if I cut and bale some.and stays dry I will run out?
    Heifers look amazing!

We use the heavy land herbal ley mix as our ground is really clay based but they have some mixes that have some more species like Lucerne in them that are suited to light land too.
