yeah they're both good in their perspective way. Calisthenics is more for regular human beings who do not have sport as their main job, while gymnastics is a head up from calisthenics but it's more of a full time job
Not entirely and that's a bad way to put it. Gymnastics is very diverse and has many many different skills and moves you need to get good at. For eg. All the ring statics and dynamic stuff. Calisthenics on the other hand is literally strength training using bw and adding weights on top of bws. Yes there are many skills in cali some of which overall with gymnastics too, but again sets and reps along with how much added weights you can do with each exercise is the main thing.

Im not saying that calisthenics isnt about performance because it also is, but just not entirely as gymnastic is.
Gymnastics gives more explosive power since you’re handling your body weight against gravity in varying positions. It’s actually suggested to use gymnastic rings for calisthenics once you can master your routine of doing static holds and pull ups as pull ups and muscle ups are just the step before going to the rings.

i think calisthenics is better at doing dynamic than isometric because gymnastics mostly train straight arm strength, thats why they’re able to hold the position for so long but when it comes to transitioning aka reps they seem to use crossfitter momentum to get themself in another position but then completely stop all momentum once they’re done. its cool like it looks clean but calisthenics is definitely better at doin slow dynamic exercises. they both have their own pros n cons because of what they train so i would say calisthenics pros are like finger strength and then gymnastics r literally just full isometric which is still amazing because first they’re on rings aka full body control, they have complete control of their body but in the street calisthenics also have complete control of their body while doin slow reps of advanced exercises. yes gymnastics is just pro calisthenics but gymnastics also has their own techniques like a certain way of doing an exercise which i think is a lifehack because it does make it easier than just using raw strength, thats why they use alot of momentum n such. other than that i love both sports, im not hatin on anythin and im just sayin what their pros n cons are

Calisthenics (American English) or callisthenics (British English) (/ˌkælɪsˈθɛnɪks/) is a form of strength training consisting of a variety of movements that exercise large muscle groups (gross motor movements), such as standing, grasping, pushing, etc. These exercises are often performed rhythmically and with minimal equipment, as bodyweight exercises. They are intended to increase strength, fitness, and flexibility, through movements such as pulling, pushing, bending, jumping, or swinging, using one's body weight for resistance in pull-ups, push-ups, squats, etc. (Wikipedia) So Basically...
