Hello Dom, I have been watching this build with interest. The Triumph used to belong to my Dad who passed away earlier this year.
As a motorcyclists myself, I'd always dreamt about doing it up myself. Watching the build, it was way above my skill level and I'd never have gotten it apart, let alone back together.
Only ever seeing it rotting in the garage, it was a wonderful Christmas present seeing it spring (reluctantly) back to life.
Well done, and i wish you many happy miles on it!

Hi Dom, brilliant stuff. Well, that wasn't nerve racking at all LOL. So proud to be a part of this build. The tank looks awesome even if we do say so ourselves . You know where we are if you ever need us again. Have a great Christmas Rich, Aline and Tom from TAB Classics.
Thanks SO much!!! The tank absolutely makes the bike, I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and I hope to see you soon!
I think that spark tester was killing one of your cylinders, they are designed to test if you have spark, but will reduce the current to the plug.
My thought too. But great to see/hear it running. Bet your neighbours will love you with that exhaust system! Have a great Christmas Dom and Jon. Then back on it! Les
Have you mixed the leads up? 🤔🙏😎
I was saying this whilst watching the video as well!
@@VenturiMotorWorks Would it run at all with the leads swapped? I'd fiddle with the idle mixture which feels too rich,[if spitting back then too lean] then if needed check the timing which may be too advanced. To clear excess fuel kick over with the throttle wide open, maybe 20 kicks
@@jeremyatkinson4976 I don’t think it would run with leads swapped. I was referring to the spark plug tester.
John and Dom running next to the bike reminded me of the Jamaican Bobsled Team 😂. Great job guys!
What a sweet sound it makes when its turning.
What a ball's up Alan Milyard has nothing to fear
I agree, Alan has a logical approach to problems second to none, and knows that more haste means less speed. If a bike won’t start no amount of pushing will cure it.
Great to see. It was like a demon roaring as it broke through the gates to hell, seeing that beast come out of the smoke-filled night like that. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
Brilliant result, well done Dom and John. Looking forward to the Porsche
23:00 Reminds me of when in 1968 trying to start my C15 with a good friend Mick.
At 16 we knew no better then to push more.
The bike needs a battery.
Tuned in to see the bike get started....watched a marathon😂
Not what we planned!
You made it in the end ! - The old girl really took some waking up, but so would we all if we'd been asleep since 1988 !.. A little fettling needed but it looks like a Happy New Year in the future after all..
The best outcome on the best channel. Have a great Chritmas Dom , John , Dan , bro Dan and all who contribute and thank you for the best viewing on the interweb!!
who hasn't worked on a project that just needed one more tweak, another 30mins and.......love it
Hi guys. That was a fun series thank you! Can you do an update video showing the bike on the road and let us know how she runs and rides now? After all that work it would be great to see you both out there enjoying the bike as intended. My Father in Law has a Tiger 90 sat in his garage and it’s keeping me awake at night thinking about a possible project….! 😂
I think everyone watching was willing the triumph on every time you gents ran up and down the lane. I could actually feel myself leaning forwarded 😆
Great watching from Sydney Australia Dom. Suggest putting an air filter and mufflers on to help with the running. They need to have some pressure build to run correctly.
Love it Dom. Determination personified - who needs expensive gym membership 😂 If I were you, I’d consider going back to points ignition especially for a sled like yours. I find it a bit more forgiving than electronic stuff which is often very sensitive to voltage. You can also adjust points at the side of the road whereas if electronics fail - it’s game over
Thanks Straight Ahead✌😎
Followed from the start was fantastic great TV
Great video. Look forward to you getting back to the Porsche.
Sounded like a proper beast when she finally started.
Liking the Ashley Harding.
That has to be the best Christmas present you'll ever get. Well done to both of you, I would have been leaning against a wall clutching my heart with that exertion.
You too never give up good on you both
Dom I think a lot of your problems with it not wanting to tick over is your exhaust system. Those engines were designed to work with back pressure from the silencer, not straight through pipes. The timing will not be factory with open pipes. And I would be very surprised if it would pass an MOT, not that it needs it now as an original 1963? bike. I know you were trying to keep it running but having just had a rebore and new pistons and rings, keep the revs down until the rings have shaken hands with the bores or you will have a seizure . Have a great Christmas and New Year. Well done to both yourself and good old John!
Nice one. Anyone that has ever rebuilt an engine can relate to the frustrating struggle of that first start. She’s a beauty.
Hi Dom, brilliant series and the bike looks fantastic.
Well done. It looks amazing.
I have a 500 Daytona that’s been in bits for 30 years. You’ve inspired me to crack on with it. Good luck with the Porsche and Merry Christmas!
Well done fellas 👏,you got the old girl on the road 👍.
A belated merry Christmas to you both 🎉.
Here's to the next build 🍺😁.
See you both in 2024 .
Peace out ✌️
Brilliant restoration, most enjoyable watch. Merry Christmas Dom & Jon
Nice, very nice... I have found that an inline spark tester like the one you are using significantly decreases the spark at the plug. Only for testing, not good for running. That probably killed that one cylinder, or at least made it MUCH harder to get it running.
Thank you good to know
Brilliant series. The last ten minutes was hilarious. Well done.
Well done, Dom, John, and Dan, great series. Now feet up and merry Christmas to you all.
Love the handlebars. It's a great feeling when they finally fire up. That bike should start with a kick or two when everything is set right
Loved this from beginning to the hard won end!
Thank you for the support
Well done …..but what a hell of a racket ….!
It’s so loud!!!
Well done. What a video best yet. What it is to have friends like John and a great brother and not forgetting Wendy who barked all that encouragement. Happy Christmas. PS bring on the Porsche.
I was knackered just watching you do that..!! Thanks so much for this project.. it’s been great to watch.. happy new year to you all!
Great job getting the old girl running, hope you all have a great Christmas and a Happy New Year when it comes along.
Great job !!! I love the longer videos
Great video...very real.....I'm sure all those watching were willing it to started and were all mentally pushing that bike. Well done for not cutting out all the angst and not giving up!
Happy new year!
Great little series, well done and happy Christmas to everyone
Well done chaps, bit of fettling Kickstarter doesn't seem to engage high enough but brilliant stuff
Fantastic to see it running once again! Congratulations to Dom, John, Dan and of course Wendy. Have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year. Cheers
Loved following the journey . Well done chaps great job.
Glad you enjoyed it
As in comedy, the secret to a running engine, errr is timing 😅😂
Well done all of you
Hi 1st remove spark tester advance the timing. 2nd check the jet size with those pipes. Well you got it running. Now you will need to run it day in day out lots of fiddling fixing loose nuts. Ps you need to after a few miles crank down head. 😊 thank you for sharing 😊
Lovely project that was supported by so many brilliant people, those exhausts definitely sound like a dream. 👍
Well done these things are not always easy
Happy Christmas Dom,John and Wendy
Dom, the correct way to pour oil from a can is with the spout UPPERMOST, gives perfect flow control and stops surging of the flow as the air rushes in . Great video as always. J
YEEHAH! I need a Tiger now. Happy Christmas!
Merry Christmas to everyone 🎁
Top effort Dom and Jon! I was exhausted just watching you both. How did Jon’s hat stay on. 😂
What a journey glad it ended well!
I raise my glass to you ❤❤❤
I was thinking that Wendy, was going to be the winner on the day. Following you and St John, up and down, while you were pushing the bike. Great stuff, Merry Xmas, be safe and happy. Thanks Gents.
Nice bike that Dom, like it.
Great 👍
Congratulations
Another great video.
Amazing work guys and Wendy want am I going to watch on a Sunday tea time now lol this is what Sundays are made for.
Stick around for the next project!!
Well done Dom. happy holiday
Well done team, that was awesome!
I can imagine how tired and sore you guys were after all that running pushing. Congratulations!
Fantastic, well done. Thanks for making the videos all of you. so interesting.
What a pleasant (manic?) way to spend half an hour on Christmas Eve. Thank you for sharing. Merry Christmas to one and all 🌞
Sounds incredible actually sounds like a tiger. Looks great such a difference to what you started with.
Great stuff! Perhaps the Boyer Bransden ignition would work better with a battery. Then a fat spark would not depend on cranking speed when starting. Merry Christmas to you all!
That parts cleaning solution at 3:18 was just the trick!
Top stuff guys. No surprise it leaked every fluid on the way 😂. Good to see the fashion alignment of Johns hat with the gorgeous Ranalah in the workshop, stylish .
Heck ya! Merry Christmas 🎉
Great job. Now to get back on the 356 at last :)
Been watching with interest, not bad for non bike guys. You do need to learn the art of carb tickling though, makes for easy starting. The chocolate block connectors used on the timing backplate may well come back to haunt you as well! Pleasant watch apart from the end, watching 2 guys trying to have a coronary 😂 Steve
Brilliant Dom and John merry Christmas to you all
Ok Dom, great to see it up and running! Now just don't go and damage it or yourself; it's time to get back on the 356! I found this channel interested in the Porsche; have been taken on numerous side trip adventures, enjoyed them now let's refocus! Happy New Year!
Clutch cable goes through the slotted piece…
What slotted piece?!
Thanks for bringing us along for the ride. Congratulations on reaching the finish line. Merry Christmas
A bike to be proud of! What an achievement for both of you. Fought you to end but looks so worth it 😄 congratulations
Well done Dom!
Bit of strobe timing and carb tweaking and she'll start a treat!
Thanks! I hope so, let’s see how we get on!
Definitely check the timing 👍👍
Well done. Great result.
really awesome, felt like I was there pushing the bike and hoping for it to kick over. Well done!
For someone who is not into bikes, I have enjoyed every tiger episode watching the trials and tribulations of you Dom and John.Well done everyone on this project.Roll on Porsche
Merry Christmas to you both- the bike has a killer look and great exhaust note. Well done! Can’t wait to see more on the Porsche in the New Year.
Well done chaps, I really enjoyed that! ☺️👍
Thank you!
Well done Dom with able assistance from John. All the best for the festive season guys
Brilliant, great journey. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
I’m enjoying the build mate, I’m doing a tiger cub at the moment so I feel your pain! I’ve got to say though, that seat needs binning!
An emotional journey of epic proportions thank you both so much
Well done to both of you, very entertaining. Hope you both have a lovely Christmas and have a break. Thanks for this series!!
Excellent outcome! What a brilliant racket - that exhaust is wonderfully fruity, just as it should be... Have a great Christmas guys - already looking forward to watching more next year 🙂
Oh yea Merry Christmas
Great video Dom and Jon.. it certainly has been a journey... now I'm sure there is an expert in the repair shop that can repair those lungs of yours...😂 All the best to you both, (and Wendy), and I can't wait for the Porcshe project to resume. 🏴👍
Hi Dom and John Happy Christmas thanks for the videos, this project has been brilliant.. first ride ..was never in doubt 😂. Roll on Porsche !
What a result, what a BIKE!!!! To see that classic bought back from retirement has been a joy to watch. I'm not a mechanic but I've enjoyed every second of this rebuild. Brilliant job to all concerned.
Merry Christmas to everyone. :)
I hope you’re planning on a heat shield for the pipes to protect your thigh! It won’t take but once to leave a permanent “lesson”.
And a pro tip: hold your oil bottles flat and they will pour more easily without surging.
many congratulations was so tense watching this well done everyone loved every episode ❤️ 👏
Been through this so many times. Fantastic
Great finale Dom - you guys should be very proud of the bike and not just the work, the journey you shared with us all. Thanks again guys, have a great christmas and I look forward to the next adventure!
Ha ha!!! What a great result from all your hard work and persistence!! You could have given up trying to get the old girl firing, but you both kept at it and got the rewards you deserve. Nice work, plus, those straight through exhausts sound amazing 👍👍👍
I am not a bike guy but loved this build. Merry Christmas to you all. Oh and your music is the best.
