Such a clean well-built e-bike, having dual suspension helps. It's nice to see you coasting on the e-bike, despite I love your BMX videos. I'm a 55-year-old skool BMX rider from the 70's and 80's, nothing beats having a single-speed BMX. Around 6 months ago or so after seeing your BMX videos, I decided to invest in a ZOOZ Ultralight 750-watt electric BMX type of E-bike, takes me back to my old BMX biking days, love it so much, it is certainly a head-turner.
If you get the chance, check out The Chimera electric BMX, such a powerhouse of an e-bike, it ain't available to buy here in Scotland, I'd definitely purchase one given the chance, it's certainly up your street. Thanks for taking the time to record, edit and upload your videos, love seeing around your local area. Take care :)

I think the bike has great capabilities...although the 10k price tag reminds me that competitors will be coming for these guys specifically. Simply to take the market on the more trail savvy high end customer. Searching for that lighter and more optimal option will always be desired by specific bike riders. I still think the sur ron is a great option for 4.5k and does literally all the work for you. But I do understand that weight difference is important to people who don't have the same strength as maybe a younger individual.

Nice new ride… really following your dum example lol. As well as seeing you test it off road I would really like to see how it does heading up to the Hollywood sign… that’s a steep ride that combines off and on rode.
Nothing wrong with using this bike just to ride in downtown LA. I got me the Turbo Levo and use it mainly just to cruise and commute in comfort, and yes you do cover way longer distance on these and have fun while doing it.
take it to the dirt. makes more sense for a rig like that. You should get a bike with less travel if you riding on sidewalks
The clean cockpit is SO nice, need me that battery dropper as well next year, worth it for the looks IMO.

Its high end specs bike. The only thing that it would be better if it had flight attendant suspension and Bosch CX race motor. But difference is minimal. So its pretty much top end.

I was in the same boat as you. I wanted an e-MTB and then found out about Surrons in like 2019 or 2020. Ended up with one instead of an e-MTB. This year I purchased a performance e-gravel bike and it's effectively replaced the Surron. It doesn't have as much power, but it weighs less than a third of a Surron, it's way more agile, can pretty much take it anywhere you can take a bicycle and no one bats an eye, I get way more mileage out of a single charge, easier to work on and transport/store.
John I remember my first e-bike it was a Reise & Muller $11,500. I used it for like a year and ended up ditching the whole cargo bike bike thing and now I'm on a Trek Rail which I got for a steal $6K it was a special order that someone had backed out on. Currently getting it Sram up, definitely love the wireless and the shifting is way better then Shimano. Im gonna do a video over on my Channel once its finished.

Great bike and great review bro. I ride a Haibike 10.0 ($6K) with Yamaha around the city downtown streets of Chicago and it is an awesome handling bike. Has a RockShox Lyrik and Magura dual piston brakes. It is a great performer and has been a trouble free experience. I am also searching for a lighter version with a high powered motor as well. Ride safe!
A lot of people think walk mode is for walking the bike but it's actually for when you're riding the bike and your say on the sidewalk and need to go as slow as possible you hold the button and the bike propels you at a walking speed
looked at one of these in my local bike shop, and when i seen it i was dissapointed with it, it looked huge, it stood next to a cube action team bosch powered e bike and the cube looked like a super light compared to it, reminds me of an early rocky mountain powerplay, thats just my views different taste in e bikes i suppose

Heya John. Love the new video. Have a great analog Pivot for my mountain biking, but want an EMTB for my commute from west side to Olive and Venice where I work. Was told I was foolish to get that kind of bike for commuting. Now, I now I am doing the right thing!
Get the EMTB bro with no regrets. I have had mine for city/trails for about 5 years and it kicks ass. Powerful Yamaha mid-drive motor and I think has a similar ride as John's in this video. Ride Safe!

If you hit a stare hard with tubeless you will dent or cut your tire bead. If there's low tire pressure it could leak sealant.
Dude, finally you bought on eof those bikes. I was searchign for years for a youtuber who rides those kind of e bikes. I´m from Europe and Surrons are pretty much banned here so those E Bikes are the only thing we can get here to drive legal on the street.

nice bike! I went monster, 26x4, 1500w.. 88 pounds empty.I have gone 24miles round trip with freighted panniers. I keep speed limited to 30.(just for crossing bridges with no sidewalks). priceless. I even get recharged for free.

I'm like, I own a few e-bikes, but I've just ordered my first E-MTB Mountain bikes just shy of 5k it has shimano Sram nukeproof parts it's a Vitus E-Escarpe VR 290 it's arriving late because of yhe Christmas back log and I can't wait it does accept auto shift so I'll be fitting that to my bike as well and I'm looking forward to more videos from you Hicks, I only bought mine for urban riding a may be a little dirt 👍🏽💯

Good stuff man, I have been looking for an emtb that way people don't really stare at me hard when I ride through bike paths and sidewalks on my Sur Ron, however I want something that has 24 inch tires (I'm kind of short 5'7) and still light enough where I can bunny hop all over the place. I also want to be able to do an average of 30mph with a 100 mile range. Not sure if there is a thing yet, the Zooz what close, but I just don't think I will be able to really enjoy doing some random urban jumps around town and I think the rear motor makes it a bit unbalanced. I have been looking at Optibike, but ya that price hurts.

Bro you should put a Bafang motor on the BMX and stick a backpack battery on, That way you can have power with hardly any weight, I was thinking of getting a battery back pack myself for E-bike, I built mine myself though, All new parts just kept the older frame as I loves the frame lol....
I think though a throttle would make this bike a total game changer, The throttle will give you more kick while pedaling, I gets 36 mph so it is fast enough for the local streets, I only use the E-bike for commuting, I was going to buy an expensive E-bike, But I put my own together and now I am glad I did, I got all the parts I want on the bike and when you step back you do get that Damn what an amazing job feeling, lol....
Still though bikes like this is a sign of the times, I can honestly see in ten years time everyone but anyone will be on E-bikes.....

I can tell yo uas someone i the mtb scene for a decades that even though it was 10k, it was still good value. I used t o ride aNukeproof dirtjumper frame and it was cheap asf for how many hits it took. Its CRCs house brand, so youre generally good warranty wise and their QC is good. Nota ebike guy myeslf but i do ride a 10k mtb ...opposite of this though its a dialed ht xc bike a 2016 scott scale i built to 19.2lbs 96% carbon. Have fun bikes are never waste of money when it keeps you ON THAT SEAT
